1Design of PANDA ring-core fiber with 10 polarization-maintaining modes显示文摘We present a polarization-maintaining PANDA ring-core fiber(PM-PRCF) characterized by the combination of a ring-core structure with two stress-applying rods. This special fiber design separates the adjacent modes and avoids the cutoff of the higher-order modes, which is a common problem in elliptical core polarization-maintaining few-mode fibers. Using a high-contrast index ring and stress-induced birefringence, the PM-PRCF features support for 10 vector modes, with effective refractive index separations from their adjacent modes >10^(-4).Broadband performance is investigated subsequently over a wide wavelength range from 1500 to 1630 nm.The proposed fiber is targeted at applications in space-division multiplexing while eliminating the complex multiple-input multiple-output signal processing.Haozhe Yan Shangyuan Li Zhengyang Xie Xiaoping Zheng Hanyi Zhang Bingkun Zhou 2017Photonics Research2017,5,1:7
2Abrogation of Hn RNP L enhances anti-PD-1 therapy efficacy via diminishing PD-L1 and promoting CD8^(+) T cell-mediated ferroptosis in castration-resistant prostate cancer显示文摘Owing to incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)ultimately developing after treating with androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),it is vital to devise new therapeutic strategies to treat CRPC.Treatments that target programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1)have been approved for human cancers with clinical benefit.However,many patients,especially prostate cancer,fail to respond to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment,so it is an urgent need to seek a support strategy for improving the traditional PD-1/PD-L1 targeting immunotherapy.In the present study,analyzing the data from our prostate cancer tissue microarray,we found that PD-L1 expression was positively correlated with the expression of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L(Hn RNP L).Hence,we further investigated the potential role of Hn RNP L on the PD-L1 expression,the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing and the synergistic effect with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC.Indeed,Hn RNP L knockdown effectively decreased PD-L1 expression and recovered the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing in vitro and in vivo,on the contrary,Hn RNP L overexpression led to the opposite effect in CRPC cells.In addition,consistent with the previous study,we revealed that ferroptosis played a critical role in T-cell-induced cancer cell death,and Hn RNP L promoted the cancer immune escape partly through targeting YY1/PD-L1 axis and inhibiting ferroptosis in CRPC cells.Furthermore,Hn RNP L knockdown enhanced antitumor immunity by recruiting infiltrating CD8^(+)T cells and synergized with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC tumors.This study provided biological evidence that Hn RNP L knockdown might be a novel therapeutic agent in PD-L1/PD-1 blockade strategy that enhanced anti-tumor immune response in CRPC.Xumin Zhou Libin Zou Hangyu Liao Junqi Luo Taowei Yang Jun Wu Wenbin Chen Kaihui Wu Shengren Cen Daojun Lv Fangpeng Shu Yu Yang Chun Li Bingkun Li Xiangming Mao 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:4
3Soliton regulation in microcavities induced by fundamental–second-harmonic mode coupling显示文摘Microcomb generation with simultaneous χ2 and χ3 nonlinearities brings new possibilities for ultrabroadband and potentially self-referenced integrated comb sources. However, the evolution of the intracavity field involving multiple nonlinear processes shows complex dynamics that are still poorly understood. Here, we report on strong soliton regulation induced by fundamental–second-harmonic(FD-SH) mode coupling. The formation of solitons from chaos is extensively investigated based on coupled Lugiato–Lefever equations. The soliton generation shows more deterministic behaviors in the presence of FD-SH mode interaction, which is in sharp contrast with the usual cases where the soliton number and relative locations are stochastic. Deterministic single soliton transition, soliton binding, and prohibition are observed, depending on the phase-matching condition and coupling coefficient between the fundamental and second-harmonic waves. 4Dispersion-less Kerr solitons in spectrally confined optical cavities显示文摘Solitons are self-reinforcing localized wave packets that manifest in the major areas of nonlinear science,from optics to biology and Bose-Einstein condensates.Recently,optically driven dissipative solitons have attracted great attention for the implementation of the chip-scale frequency combs that are decisive for communications,spectroscopy,neural computing,and quantum information processing.In the current understanding,the generation of temporal solitons involves the chromatic dispersion as a key enabling physical effect,acting either globally or locally on the cavity dynamics in a decisive way.Here,we report on a novel class of solitons,both theoretically and experimentally,which builds up in spectrally confined optical cavities when dispersion is practically absent,both globally and locally.Precisely,the interplay between the Kerr nonlinearity and spectral filtering results in an infiinite hierarchy of eigenfunctions which,combined with optical gain,allow for the generation of stable dispersion-less dissipative solitons in a previously unexplored regime.When the filter order tends to infinity,we find an unexpected link between dissipative and conservative solitons,in the form of Nyquist-pulse-like solitons endowed with an ultra-flat spectrum.In contrast to the conventional dispersion-enabled nonlinear Schr?dinger solitons,these dispersion-less Nyquist solitons build on a fully confined spectrum and their energy scaling is not constrained by the pulse duration.Dispersion-less soliton molecules and their deterministic transitioning to single solitons are also evidenced.These findings broaden the fundamental scope of the dissipative soliton paradigm and open new avenues for generating soliton pulses and frequency combs endowed with unprecedented temporal and spectral features.Xiaoxiao Xue Philippe Grelu Bofan Yang Mian Wang Shangyuan Li Xiaoping Zheng Bingkun Zhou 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,1:1
5Effect of Ultrasonication on the Properties of Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes/Hollow Glass Microspheres/Epoxy Syntactic Foam显示文摘Multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) reinforced hollow glass microspheres(HGMs)/epoxy syntactic foam was fabricated. The effects of ultrasonication on the density, compression strength, and water absorption properties were studied. Better dispersed MWCNTs can be obtained after ultrasonication treatment, but an increasing viscosity will lead to a larger amount of voids during syntactic foam preparation especially when the content of HGMs is more than 70 vol%. The existing voids will decrease the density of epoxy syntactic foam. However, the ultrasonication does not change the compression strength much. Ultrasonication treatment will decrease the water absorption content due to the better dispersion and hydrophobic properties of MWCNTs. 7Cellulose membranes as moisture-driven actuators with predetermined deformations and high load uptake显示文摘We report the synthesis of cellulose membranes from balsa wood with an exceptionally high responsivity to humidity change by chemical processing and mechanical compression.By varying the ambient humidity,the produced cellulose membranes can provide a variety of predetermined deformations,such as curve,s-like deformation and curl.The high humidity responsivity is originated from a self-maintained moisture gradient induced by an asymmetrical design of membrane surfaces,aided by the hygroscopic swelling of the cellulose.The moisture-driven actuators are then demonstrated as a three-finger gripper that can grab,hold and release objects 40 times the weight of its own.The combination of natural wood and stimuli-responsive behavior open a way to designing smart structures,actuators and soft robots with environmentally friendly,recyclable and biocompatible materials.Xiaofeng Jiang Bingkun Tian Xiaoyu Xuan Wanqi Zhou Jianxin Zhou Yaqing Chen Yang Lu Zhuhua Zhang 2021International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2021,12,2:1

9Origin,Distribution and Geochemical Significance of Isopropyltoluene Isomers in Crude Oil显示文摘With comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography linked to time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC × GC-TOFMS),ten light hydrocarbon(LH) compounds were qualitatively and quantitatively studied in light hydrocarbons(LHs) components of crude oils.For significant differences in the concentrations of 3-isoproyltoluene(3-iPT),4-isoproyltoluene(4-iPT) and 2-isoproyltoluene(2-iPT) in crude oils,and the 2-iPT probably derived mainly from similar skeleton monocyclic terpenoids via dehydrogenation and aromatization,the ratios of(3+4)-/2-iPT(iPTr),3-/2-iPT(iPTr1) and 4-/2-iPT(iPTr2) are proposed to distinguish the organic matter origin of crude oils.Relatively higher iPTr(>8.0),iPTr1(>7.0) and iPTr2(>4.0) values indicate that crude oils are sourced from the co-contribution of lower aquatic organisms,bacteria,algae,and terrestrial higher plants,whereas lower iPTr(<5.0),iPTr1(<3.0),iPTr2(<2.0) values suggest that crude oils originated from terrestrial higher plants.The iPTr,iPTr1,and iPTr2 values show notable distinction which is mainly controlled by 2-iPT concentrations,while the concentrations of 3-iPT and 4-iPT have similar distribution range in all studied oils.The 2-iPT depleted in marine oils from the Tarim Basin and lacustrine oils from the Beibuwan Basin is less than 0.30 mg/g LHs,whereas 2-iPT enriched in swamp oils from the Tarim Basin is greater than 0.50 mg/g LHs.The iPTr,iPTr1,and iPTr2 ratios and 2-iPT concentrations can be used to distinguish the organic matter origin of crude oils,especially for light oils and condensates with low concentrations of biomarkers.Bingkun Meng Daofu Song Yuan Chen Shengbao Shi Shixin Zhou 2022Journal of Earth Science2022,33,1:0
10A composite PEO electrolyte with amide-based polymer matrix for suppressing lithium dendrite growth in all-solid-state lithium battery显示文摘The lithium dendrite growth is still a serious challenge and impeding the realistic applications of all-solid-state lithium batteries.In view of the amide containing sediment layer can be stable on lithium/cathodes,a composite polymer electrolyte with amide-based matrix is in-situ built on porous electrodes.With the introduction of amide,the polymer electrolyte presents excellent ability to inhibit lithium dendrite growth and makes the Li/Li symmetric battery stably work for 500 h with a good ionic conductivity of 4.25×10^(-5)S/cm at 40℃.The solid electrolyte also shows a wide electrochemical stable window and good interface contact with the porous cathode.Utilizing this composite polymer electrolyte,the all-solid-state Li/LiFePO_(4) battery shows an initial discharge capacity of 146.5 mA h/g at 0.1 C under 40℃ and remains 81.4%in 100 cycles.The polymer electrolyte also can present better properties after modification.These results demonstrate that the presented PA-based composite polymer electrolyte could be served as a good electrolyte candidate for all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.Menghan Ge Xiaoyu Zhou Yinping Qin Yang Liu Jingjing Zhou Xiaolei Wang Bingkun Guo 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8:0

13Unraveling the reaction reversibility and structure stability of nickel sulfide anodes for lithium ion batteries显示文摘The electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries,i.e.specific capacity and cyclability,is primarily determined by chemical reversibility and structural stability of the electrodes in cycling.Here we have investigated the fundamental reaction behaviors of nickel sulfide(NixSy)as lithium-ion battery anodes by in-situ TEM.We find that Ni_(3)S_(2)is the electrochemically stable phase,which appears in the first cycle of the NixSyanode.From the second cycle,conversion between Ni_(3)S_(2)and Li_(2)S/Ni is the dominant electrochemical reaction.In lithiation,the NixSynanoparticles evolve into a mixture of Ni nanocrystals embedded in Li_(2)S matrix,which form a porous structure upon full lithiation,and with the recrystallization of the Ni_(3)S_(2)phase in delithiation,a compact and interconnected network is built.Structural stability in cycles is susceptible to particle size and substrate restraint.Carbon substrate can certainly improve the tolerance for size-dependent pulverization of NixSynanoparticles.When NixSynanoparticle exceeds the critical size value,the morphology of the particle is no longer well maintained even under the constraints of the carbon substrate.This work deepens the understanding of electrochemical reaction behavior of conversiontype materials and helps to rational design of high-energy density battery anodes.Yu Huang Chunyuan Liang Yueling Cai Yi Zhou Bingkun Guo Jipeng Cheng Heguang Liu Peng Wang Qianqian Li Anmin Nie Hongtao Wang Jinsong Wu Tongyi Zhang 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5:0
