| 1 | Efficient elimination of multidrug-resistant bacteria using copper sulfide nanozymes anchored to graphene oxide nanosheets显示文摘Antibacterial nanomaterials have attracted growing interest for bacterial infection therapy.However,most nanomaterials eliminate bacteria either physically or chemically,which hampers their efficacy when dealing with multidrug-resistant bacteria.To overcome this,we integrated copper sulfide(CuS)nanoparticles with active graphene oxide nanosheets(GO NSs)to synthesize a superior nanocomposite(CuS/GO NC)that acts both physically and chemically on the bacteria.CuS/GO NC was produced using a facile hydrothermal method,whereby the CuS nanoparticles grew and were uniformly dispersed on the GO NSs in situ.We found that the CuS/GO NC possesses a unique needle-like morphology that physically damages the bacterial cell membrane.CuS/GO NC also exhibits high oxidase-and peroxidase-like activity,ensuring efficient generation of the reactive oxygen species•OH from H2O2,which kills bacteria chemically.These features endow the CuS/GO NC with excellent antibacterial capabilities to kill multidrug-resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA)with only a single dose.Additionally,it was found that the CuS/GO NC accelerated the healing of infected wounds in vivo owing to its good biocompatibility as well as facilitation of cell migration and collagen secretion.This study provides a new strategy to combine the physical and chemical antibacterial modes of nanomaterials to develop more effective therapies to combat multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. | Wanshun Wang Binglin Li Huili Yang Zefeng Lin Lingling Chen Zhan Li Jiayuan Ge Tao Zhang Hong Xia Lihua Li Yao Lu | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,8: | 8 |
| 2 | Classifying wakes produced by self-propelled fish-like swimmers using neural networks显示文摘We consider the classification of wake structures produced by self-propelled fish-like swimmers based on local measurements of flow variables.This problem is inspired by the extraordinary capability of animal swimmers in perceiving their hydrodynamic environments under dark condition.We train different neural networks to classify wake structures by using the streamwise velocity component,the crosswise velocity component,the vorticity and the combination of three flow variables,respectively.It is found that the neural networks trained using the two velocity components perform well in identifying the wake types,whereas the neural network trained using the vorticity suffers from a high rate of misclassification.When the neural network is trained using the combination of all three flow variables,a remarkably high accuracy in wake classification can be achieved.The results of this study can be helpful to the design of flow sensory systems in robotic underwater vehicles. | Binglin Li Xiang Zhang Xing Zhang | 2020 | Theoretical & Applied Mechanics Letters2020,10,3: | 4 |

| 8 | One-pot synthesis of 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan from biomass derived 5-(chloromethyl)furfural in high yield显示文摘5-(Chloromethyl)furfural(CMF),as a new platform molecular,has become a hot topic in the field of biorefinery.Herein,the one-pot conversion of CMF to 2,5-bis(hydroxymethyl)furan(BHMF)in the water phase was demonstrated for the first time.A 91%BHMF yield was obtained over Ru/Cu Oxcatalyst,and BHMF was mainly produced by the consecutive hydrolysis and hydrogenation of CMF with 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)as an intermediate.Kinetic studies revealed that the conversion of HMF to BHMF was the rate-determining step.Remarkably,the characterizations and density functional theory(DFT)calculations further revealed the lower electron density of Ru NPs in Ru/Cu Oxcatalyst,resulting in a larger adsorption energy and a smaller free energy difference for the formation of alcohols.The present findings offered a new pathway for biomass-derived diol production through CMF as a potential source. | Binglin Chen Yunchao Feng Sen Ma Weizhen Xie Guihua Yan Zheng Li Jonathan Sperry Shuliang Yang Xing Tang Yong Sun Lu Lin Xianhai Zeng | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Base-free oxidative esterification of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural to furan-2,5-dimethylcarboxylate over n-doped carbon-supported Co/Fe bimetallic catalyst under batch-operation or continuous-flow conditions显示文摘Developing an efficient and easily available catalyst for the selective conversion of biomass-derived 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF)into furan-2,5-dimethylcarboxylate(FDMC),a valuable biomass-based monomer,remains a high demand but formidable challenge.Herein,a facile strategy for the synthesis of N-doped carbon-supported Co/Fe bimetallic catalyst(CoFe-NC)was developed,which provided an outstanding FDMC yield of 93%in a batch reactor(base-free,80℃,2 bar O_(2),4 h).Interestingly,CoFe-NC also gave a high FDMC yield of 91%under continuous-flow conditions for 80 h(5 bar O_(2),80℃,GHSV 1320 h^(-1),LHSV 0.6 h^(-1),base-free).Notably,it is the first time that a non-noble catalyst gave such a high FDMC yield under continuous-flow conditions.The introduction of Fe could greatly improve both the electron intensity of Co-N_(x)species and basicity of the catalyst,which endowed CoFe-NC with improved O_(2)activation capacity and enhanced dehydrogenation activity for the oxidation-esterification of HMF.This work delineates the efficient strategy on the construction of N-doped carbon-supported non-noble catalyst,which might open a new avenue for developing highly efficient catalyst for FDMC production. | Weizhen Xie Binglin Chen Wenlong Jia Huai Liu Zheng Li Shuliang Yang Xing Tang Xianhai Zeng Yong Sun Xixian Ke Tianyuan Li Huayu Fang Lu Lin | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,,12: | 1 |

| 13 | A low-energy ion spectrometer with half-space entrance for three-axis stabilized spacecraft显示文摘A low-energy ion spectrometer(LEIS) for use aboard three-axis stabilized spacecraft has been developed to measure ion energy per charge distribution in three-dimensional space with good energy-, angular-and temporal-resolutions. For the standard top-hat electrostatic analyzer used widely in space plasma detection, three-axis stabilized spacecraft makes it difficult to obtain complete coverage of all possible ion arrival directions. We have designed angular scanning deflectors supplementing to a cylindrically symmetric top-hat electrostatic analyzer to provide a half-space field of view as 360°×90°(–45°–+45°), and fabricated the LEIS flight model for detecting magnetospheric ions in geosynchronous orbit. The performance of this payload has been evaluated in detail by a series of simulation and environmental tests, and the payload has also been calibrated through laboratory experiments using a low-energy ion source.
