| 1 | Customized reconstructive prosthesis design based on topological optimization to treat severe proximal tibia defect显示文摘A novel reconstructive prosthesis was designed with topological optimization(TO)and a lattice structure to enhance biomechanical and biological properties in the proximal tibia.The biomechanical performance was validated through finite element analysis(FEA)and biomechanical tests.The tibia with inhomogeneous material properties was reconstructed according to computed tomography images,and different components were designed to simulate the operation.Minimum compliance TO subject to a volume fraction constraint combined with a graded lattice structure was utilized to redesign the prosthesis.FEA was performed to evaluate the mechanical performances of the tibia and implants after optimization,including stress,micromotion,and strain energy.The results were analyzed by paired-samples t tests,and p<0.05 was considered significant.Biomechanical testing was used to verify the tibial stresses.Compared to the original group(OG),the TO group(TOG)exhibited lower stress on the stem,and the maximum von Mises stresses were 87.2 and 53.1 MPa,respectively,a 39.1%reduction(p<0.05).Conversely,the stress and strain energy on the tibia increased in the TOG.The maximum von Mises stress values were 16.4 MPa in the OG and 22.9 MPa in the TOG with a 39.6%increase(p<0.05),and the maximum SED value was 0.026 MPa in the OG and 0.042 MPa in the TOG,corresponding to an increase of 61.5%(p<0.05).The maximum micromotions in the distal end of the stem were 135μm in the OG and 68μm in the TOG,almost a 50%reduction.The stress curves of the biomechanical test coincided well with the FEA results.The TO approach can effectively reduce the whole weight of the prosthesis and improve the biomechanical environment of the tibia.It could also pave the way for next-generation applications in orthopedics surgery. | Aobo Zhang Hao Chen Yang Liu Naichao Wu Bingpeng Chen Xue Zhao Qing Han Jincheng Wang | 2021 | Bio-Design and Manufacturing2021,4,1: | 4 |
| 2 | Zooplankton composition and distribution in the Lembeh Strait of North Sulawesi, Indonesia显示文摘Based on oceanographic survey data in June 2012 in the Lembeh Strait, the zooplankton ecological characteristics such as species composition, individual abundance, dominant species and distribution were analyzed. The results showed that 183 species(including 4 sp.) had been recognized, most of them belonged to copepoda.Cnidaria followed with 43 species(including 1 sp.) were identified. The average abundance of zooplankton was(150.47±58.91) ind./m^3. As to the horizontal distribution, the abundance of the zooplankton was higher in the southern waters than in the northern waters. The dominant species in the study area were Lensia subtiloides,Sagitta enflata, Lucifer intermedius, Oikopleura rufescens, Diphyes chamissoni, Creseis acicula, Subeucalanus subcrassus, Temora discaudata, Aglaura hemistoma, Doliolum denticulatum, Canthocalanus pauper, Oikopleura longicauda and Nanomia bijuga. Zooplankton biodiversity indexes were higher in study area than previous study in the other regions. | 3 | Thermal and luminescent properties of 2 μm emission in thulium-sensitized holmium-doped silicate-germanate glass显示文摘In this paper, we present the luminescent properties of Tm^(3+)∕Ho^(3+)co-doped new glass. A series of silicategermanate glass was prepared by the conventional melt-quenching method. In the Tm^(3+)∕Ho^(3+)co-doped silicategermanate glass, a strong emission of 2 μm originating from the Ho^(3+):~5I_7→~5I_8transition can be observed under conventional 808 nm pumping. The characteristic temperatures, structure, and absorption spectra have been measured. The radiative properties of Ho^(3+)in the prepared glass were calculated. The emission cross section of Ho^(3+)ions transition can reach 4.78 × 10^(-21)cm^2 around 2 μm, and the FWHM is as high as 153 nm. The energy transfer efficiency between Ho^(3+)and Tm^(3+)has a large value(52%), which indicates the Tm^(3+)∕Ho^(3+)co-doped silicategermanate glass is a suitable candidate for the 2 μm laser. | 4 | Learning efficient text-to-image synthesis via interstage cross-sample similarity distillation显示文摘For a given text,previous text-to-image synthesis methods commonly utilize a multistage generation model to produce images with high resolution in a coarse-to-fine manner.However,these methods ignore the interaction among stages,and they do not constrain the consistent cross-sample relations of images generated in different stages.These deficiencies result in inefficient generation and discrimination.In this study,we propose an interstage cross-sample similarity distillation model based on a generative adversarial network(GAN)for learning efficient text-to-image synthesis.To strengthen the interaction among stages,we achieve interstage knowledge distillation from the refined stage to the coarse stages with novel interstage cross-sample similarity distillation blocks.To enhance the constraint on the cross-sample relations of the images generated at different stages,we conduct cross-sample similarity distillation among the stages.Extensive experiments on the Oxford-102 and Caltech-UCSD Birds-200-2011(CUB)datasets show that our model generates visually pleasing images and achieves quantitatively comparable performance with state-of-the-art methods. | Fengling MAO Bingpeng MA Hong CHANG Shiguang SHAN Xilin CHEN | 2021 | Science China(Information Sciences)2021,64,2: | 1 |
