Effect of variation in gas distribution on explosion propagation characteristics in coal mines显示文摘In order to investigate the effect of variation in the distribution of gas on explosion propagation characteristics in coal mines, experiments were carried out in two different channels with variation in gas concentration and geometry. Flame and pressure transducers were used to track the explosion front velocity. The flame speed (Sf) showed a slight downward trend while the methane concentration varied from 10% to 3% in the experimental channel. The peak overpressure (Pmax) dropped dramatically when compared with normal conditions. As well, the values of Pmax and Sf decreased when the methane concentration dropped from 8% to 6%. The flame speed in the channel, connected to a cylinder with a length varying from 0.5 to 2 m, was greater than that in the normal channel. The peak overpressure was also higher than that under normal conditions because of a higher flame speed and stronger pressure piling up. The values of Pmax and Sf increased with an increase in cylinder length. The research results indicate that damage caused by explosions can be reduced by decreasing the gas concentration, which should be immediately detected in roadways with large cross-sections because of the possibility of greater destruction caused by more serious explosions. | ZHU Chuanjie | 2010 | Mining Science and Technology2010,20,4: | 11
A numerical simulation of the influence initial temperature has on the propagation characteristics of, and safe distance from, a gas explosion显示文摘A model roadway with a cross-sectional area of 80 mm 80 mm and a length of 100 m was used to estimate the overpressure, the temperature, the density, and the combustion rate during an explosion. Auto-ReaGas software was used for the calculations and the initial temperatures were 248, 268, 308, or 328 K. The methaneair mixture had a fuel concentration of 9.5% and the tunnel had a filling ratio of 10%. The results show that the safe distance necessary to avoid harm from the shock wave increases with increasing initial temperature. The distance where the peak overpressure begins to rise, and where the maximum value occurs, increases as the initial temperature increases. These are almost linear functions of the initial temperature. At locations before shock wave attenuation has occurred increasing the initial temperature linearly increases the maximum temperature at each point following along the tunnel. At the same time, the peak overpressure, the maximum density, and the maximum combustion rate decrease linearly. How-ever, after the shock wave has attenuated the attenuation extent of the peak overpressure decreases with an increase in initial temperature. The influence of the initial temperature on the explosion propagation depends on the combined effects of inhibiting and enhancing factors. The research results can provide a theoretical guidance for gas explosion disaster relief and treatment in underground coal mines. | Jiang Bingyou Lin Baiquan Shi Shulei Zhu Chuanjie tiu Qian Zhai Cheng | 2012 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2012,22,3: | 10
Assessment of gas and dust explosion in coal mines by means of fuzzy fault tree analysis显示文摘During the past decade, coal dust and gas explosions have been the most two serious types of disasters in China, threatening the lives of miners and causing significant losses in terms of national property. In this paper, an evaluation model of coal dust and gas explosions was constructed based on a fuzzy fault tree by taking the Xingli Coal Mine as a research site to identify the risk factors of coal dust and gas explosions.Furthermore, the hazards associated with such explosions were evaluated for this particular coal mine. After completing an on-site investigation, the fuzzy probabilities of basic events were obtained through expert scoring, and these expert opinions were then aggregated as trapezoidal fuzzy numbers to calculate the degrees of importance of all basic events. Finally, these degrees of importance were sorted. According to the resulting order, the basic events with higher probabilities were determined to identify key hazards in the daily safety management of this particular coal mine. Moreover, effective measures for preventing gas and coal dust explosions were derived. The fuzzy fault tree analysis method is of high significance in the analysis of accidental coal mine explosions and provides theoretical guidance for improving the efficiency of coal mine safety management in a scientific and feasible manner. | Shulei Shi Bingyou Jiang Xiangrui Meng | 2018 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2018,28,6: | 9
Curcumin’s prevention of inflammation-driven early gastric cancer and its molecular mechanism显示文摘Worldwide, gastric cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths and the fifth most common malignant tumor.Gastric cancer is believed to be caused by a variety of factors, such as genetics, epigenetics, and environmental influences.Among the pathogenic factors, inflammation has been considered as one of the main risk factors for gastric cancer. There are currently limited ways to prevent gastric cancer.Although the combined application of aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can reduce the risk,it has great side effects and can easily cause gastric perforation or gastric bleeding. Therefore,an alternative plan is urgently needed.Curcumin is the yellow pigment in the rhizome of the plant turmeric.Current studies have found that curcumin has a protective effect on gastric mucosal damage caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, gastric mucosal damage in rats, and gastric mucosal damage caused by stress bleeding and Helicobacter pylori infection.Curcumin shows significant antiinflammatory and anti-cancer activities by regulating DNA methylation, histone modification, nuclear factor erythrocyte 2 related factor 2 and other related signal pathways. In this article, the latest evidence of curcumin for epigenetic changes in gastric cancer and its potential contribution to gastric cancer were discussed. | Wensen Zhang Na Cui Jin Ye Bingyou Yang Yanping Sun Haixue Kuang | 2022 | Chinese Herbal Medicines2022,14,2: | 3

Explosive characteristics of nanometer and micrometer aluminum-powder显示文摘The explosive characteristics of aluminum powder have great significance in preventing and controlling aluminum-dust explosion accidents, especially the nano-aluminum powder. The explosion characteris- tics of 100 nm and 75 lm aluminum powders were investigated by using a 20 L spherical explosion cav- ity and a horizontal pipe whose cross-section area is 80 mm 80 mm and length is 8 m. The results show that the maximum explosion pressure and its rising rate of 100 nm aluminum powder gradually increase with increasing concentration of aluminum-powder at the beginning. When aluminum-powder concen- tration is 1 kg/m3, the maximum explosion pressure reaches its maximum, and then gradually decreases. While when the concentration is 1.25 kg/m3, the maximum rate of pressure rise obtains its maximum, and then decreases. After 100 nm aluminum powder is exploded in pipes, the peak overpressure of blast wave first decreases and then increases to the maximum at a distance of 298 cm from the ignition source, and then gradually decreases. The most violent concentration is about 0.4 kg/m3 which is lower than 0.8 kg/m3 of 75 lm aluminum powder, so 100 nm aluminum powders are more easily exploded. The change laws of maximum explosion pressure, maximum rate of pressure rise and blast-wave peak over- pressure of 100 nm aluminum powders with concentration are similar to those of 75 lm aluminum pow- ders, but these values are much higher than 75 lm aluminum powders under the same concentration, so the aluminum-powders explosion of 100 nm will produce more harms. In the process of production, stor- age and transportation of aluminum powder, some relevant preventive measures can be taken to reduce the loss caused by aluminum-dust explosion according to nano-aluminum dust. | Jiang Bingyou Lin Baiquan Shi Shulei Zhu Chuanjie Li Wenxia | 2011 | Mining Science and Technology2011,21,5: | 0
Effectiveness of coal mine dust control:A new technique for preparation and efficacy of self-adaptive microcapsule suppressant显示文摘This study aims to make full use of the agricultural waste peanut shells to lower material costs and achieve cleaner production at the same time.Cellulose nanofibrils(CNF)extracted from peanut shells were mixed with acrylic acid(AA)and dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride(DMDAAC)to prepare a new type of capsule core(dust suppressant). Then, the self-adaptive AA-DM-CNF/CA microcapsules were prepared under the action of calcium alginate. The infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis results suggest that AA,DMDAAC and CNF have experienced graft copolymerization which leads to the formation of an amorphous structure. The scanning electron microscopy analysis results demonstrate that the internal dust suppressant can expand and break the wall after absorbing water, featuring a self-adaptive function.Meanwhile, the laser particle size analysis results show that the microcapsules, inside which the encapsulated dust suppressant can be observed clearly, maintain a good shape. The product performance experimental results reveal that the capsule core and the capsule wall achieve synergistic dust suppression, thus lengthening the dust suppression time. The product boasts good dust suppression, weather resistance, degradation and synergistic combustion performances. Moreover, this study,as the first report on the development and analysis of dust-suppressing microcapsules, fills in the research gap on the reaction mechanism between dust-suppressing microcapsules and coal by MS simulation. The proposed AA-DM-CNF/CA dust-suppressing microcapsules can effectively lower the dust concentration in the space and protect the physical and mental health of coal workers. In general, this research provides a new insight into the structure control and performance enhancement of dust suppressants.Expanding the application range of microcapsules is of crucial economic and social benefits. | Bo Ren Liang Yuan Gang Zhou Shuailong Li Qunzhi Meng Kai Wang Bingyou Jiang Guofeng Yu | 2022 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2022,32,6: | 0
