1Observations of atmospheric pollutants at Lhasa during 2014-2015:Pollution status and the influence of meteorological factors显示文摘Atmospheric pollutants including SO_2, NO_2, CO, O_3 and inhalable particulate matter(PM2.5 and PM10) were monitored continuously from March 2014 to February 2015 to investigate characteristics of air pollution at Lhasa, Tibetan Plateau. Species exhibited similar seasonal variations except O_3, with the peaks in winter but low valleys in summer. The maximum O_3 concentration was observed in spring, followed by summer, autumn, and winter. The positive correlation between O_3 and PM10 in spring indicated similar sources of them, and was assumed to be turbulent transport. Temperature was the dominant meteorological factor for most species in spring. High temperature accelerates O_3 photochemistry, and favors air disturbance which is conductive to dust resuspension in spring. Relative humidity(RH) and atmospheric pressure were the main meteorological factors in summer. RH showed negative correlations with species, while atmospheric pressure posed opposite situation. Wind speed(WS) was the dominant meteorological factor in autumn, the negative correlations between WS and species indicated diffusion by wind. Most species showed non-significant correlations with meteorological factors in winter, indicating the dependence of pollution on source emission rather than restriction by meteorology. Pollution weather character indicated that emissions were from biomass burning and dust suspension, and meteorological factors also played an important role. Air stream injection from the stratosphere was observed during O_3 pollution period. Air parcels from Southwest Asia were observed during air pollution period in winter. 2Gangba sheep in the Tibetan plateau:Validating their unique meat quality and grazing factor analysis显示文摘Gangba sheep are known for having typical sensory characteristics attributed to free range conditions and grazing on wild plants.The genuine Gangba mutton was selected as the experimental group,and the commercial Tibetan mutton was selected as the control group,the nutritive composition of basic chemical components,amino acids and fatty acids in mutton were investigated to correlate its unique meat quality and eating satisfaction.The results showed that fatty acids were significantly higher(P<0.05)in Gangba mutton than in commercial mutton,and the higher content of flavoring amino acids(glutamic acid and aspartame)were primarily responsible for the taste attributes umami of meat juices.Moreover,the trace elements analysis in mutton and grazing factors(forage,water source and soil)were conducted,to explain the source of essential trace elements in mutton.The concentrations of essential trace elements show that the Gangba mutton was a valuable source for highly available Cu and Zn in human nutrition,and well managed with few detected of toxicity metal.The concentrations of essential trace elements in mutton are closely related to the trace elements in environmental grazing factors.In conclusion,the congenital grazing conditions(a highly mineralized water resource,natural forages and clean soils)were shown to contribute to the unique meat characteristics of Gangba sheep.Qiangying Zhang Ming Que Wei Li Shuang Gao Xin Tan Duo Bu 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,3:8
3Individual particle analysis of aerosols collected at Lhasa City in the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘To understand the composition and major sources of aerosol particles in Lhasa City on the Tibetan Plateau(TP), individual particles were collected from 2 February to 8 March, 2013 in Tibet University. The mean concentrations of both PM2.5and PM10 during the sampling were25.7 ± 21.7 and 57.2 ± 46.7 μg/m3, respectively, much lower than those of other cities in East and South Asia, but higher than those in the remote region in TP like Nam Co, indicating minor urban pollution. Combining the observations with the meteorological parameters and back trajectory analysis, it was concluded that local sources controlled the pollution during the sampling. Transmission electron microscopy(TEM) combined with energydispersive X-ray spectra(EDS) was used to study 408 particles sampled on four days. Based on the EDS analysis, a total of 8 different particle categories were classified for all 408 particles, including Si-rich, Ca-rich, soot, K-rich, Fe-rich, Pb-rich, Al-rich and other particles.The dominant elements were Si, Al and Ca, which were mainly attributed to mineral dust in the earth's crust such as feldspar and clay. Fe-, Pb-, K-, Al-rich particles and soot mainly originated from anthropogenic sources like firework combustion and biomass burning during the sampling. During the sampling, the pollution mainly came from mineral dust,while the celebration ceremony and religious ritual produced a large quantity of anthropogenic metal-bearing particles on 9 and 25 February 2013. Cement particles also had a minor influence. 4Mercury in alpine fish from four rivers in the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘As a global pollutant, high levels of mercury(Hg) have been found in remote ecosystem due to the long range atmospheric transport. In this study, a total of 60 fish samples were collected from four rivers across the Tibetan Plateau to study the accumulation of Hg in remote and high-altitude aquatic environment. The total Hg(THg) and methylmercury(MeHg) in fish muscles ranged from 11 to 2097 ng/g dry weight(dw)(average: 819 ng/g dw)and from 14 to 1960 ng/g dw(average: 756 ng/g dw), respectively. Significantly positive linear relationships were observed between the THg(r = 0.591, p < 0.01, n = 36) and MeHg concentrations(r = 0.473, p < 0.01, n = 36) with the trophic level of fish from Lhasa River,suggesting trophic transfer and biomagnification of Hg in this aquatic ecosystem. Moreover,the THg levels in fish had significantly positive correlations with the length(r = 0.316,p < 0.05, n = 60) and weight(r = 0.271, p < 0.05, n = 60) of fish. The high levels of Hg were attributed to the slow growth and long lifespan of the fish under this sterile and cold environment. 5Long-range atmospheric transport and alpine condensation of short-chain chlorinated paraffins on the southeastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Pristine alpine regions are ideal regions for investigating the long-range atmospheric transport and cold trapping effects of short chain chlorinated paraffins(SCCPs).The concentrations and alpine condensation of SCCPs were investigated in lichen samples collected from the southeastern Tibetan Plateau.The concentrations of SCCPs ranged from 3098 to 6999 ng/g lipid weight(lw)and appeared to have an increasing trend with altitude.For congeners,C10 dominated among all the congener groups.The different environmental behavior for different congener groups was closely related to their octanol-air partition coefficient(Koa).C10 congeners showed an increasing trend with altitude,whereas C13 congeners were negatively correlated with altitude.Volumetric bioconcentration factors(BCF)of SCCPs reached 8.71 in lichens,which were higher than other semivolatile organic compounds(SVOCs)such as organochlorine pesticides(OCPs),polybrominated diphenyl ethers(PBDEs),polychlorinated biphenyls(PCBs),and hexabromocyclododecane(HBCD).These results suggested that SCCPs were prone to accumulate in the lichen from the air and provided evidence for the role of lichens as a suitable atmospheric indicator in the Tibetan Plateau.Huijuan Li Duo Bu Yan Gao Nali Zhu Jing Wu Xiangfeng Chen Jianjie Fu Yawei Wang Aiqian Zhang Guibin Jiang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,1:1
6Preparation,Characterization and Application of Mesoporous Carbon Materials Derived from MgO Template for Removal of Heavy Metals显示文摘Mesoporous carbon adsorbents were prepared for the adsorption of Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ)by calcination with gelatin,chitosan and sucrose as carbon precursor respectively,and magnesium citrate as MgO template precursor under high temperature argon atmosphere.The effects of the mass ratio of carbon precursor/magnesium citrate and calcination temperature on the adsorption performance of Cu(Ⅱ)and Pb(Ⅱ)ions were investigated.The results showed that the optimum preparation process of adsorbent was obtained as follows:gelatin was carbon precursor,and gelatin and magnesium citrate were calcined at a mass ratio of 5∶5 under argon atmosphere of 600℃for 2 h.The adsorbent exhibited mesostructure with a pore size of about 5.1 nm and a high specific surface area of 783 m^2/g.The as-synthesized adsorbent exhibited high adsorption capacity for Cu(Ⅱ)(8.3 mg/g)and Pb(Ⅱ)(28 mg/g).Qiangying ZHANG Ruizhi WANG Jian LIU Jinhui WU Lu XIA Xiao CUI Duo BU Shuang GAO 2020Meteorological and Environmental Research2020,11,1:0
