| 1 | DAPT Enhances the Apoptosis of Human Tongue Carcinoma Cells显示文摘Aim To investigate the effect of DAPT(γ-secretase inhibitor) on the growth of human tongue carcinoma cells and to determine the molecular mechanism to enable the potential application of DAPT to the treatment of tongue carcinoma. Methodology Human tongue carcinoma Tca8113 cells were cultured with DAPT.Cell growth was determined using Indigotic Reduction method.The cell cycle and apoptosis were analyzed by flow cytometry.Real-time PCR and Immuno-Fluorescence(IF) were employed to determine the intracellular expression levels. Results DAPT inhibited the growth of human tongue carcinoma Tca8113 cells by inducing G_0-G_1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.The mRNA levels of Hairy/Enhancer of Split-1(Hes-1),a target of Notch activation,were reduced by DAPT in a dose-dependent manner.Coincident with this observation,DAPT induced a dose-dependent promotion of constitutive Caspase-3 in Tca8113 cells. Conclusion DAPT may have a therapeutic value for human tongue carcinoma.Moreover,the effects of DAPT in tumor inhibition may arise partly via the modulation of Notch-1 and Caspase-3. | Brian E. | 2 | 100-Gb/s undersea transmission with high spectral efficiency using pre-filtered QPSK modulation format显示文摘We provide a review of our recent 100-Gb/s, high spectral efficiency (SE) experiment targeting transoceanic and regional undersea transmission distances. We demonstrated that simple pre-filtering at the transmitter together with a maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) detection algorithm can significantly improve SE. We transmitted 96×100-Gb/s pre-filtered polarization division multiplexed return-to-zero quadrature phase shift keyed (PDM-RZ-QPSK) channels with 300% SE over 10608 km using 52-km spans of 150-μm 2 fiber and simple single-stage erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFAs). | 4 | EVOLUTION OF THE ELECTROCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS DURING PITTING CORROSION OF PURE ALUMINUM IN SODIUM CHLORIDE SOLUTION显示文摘The corrosion behavior of pure aluminum in neutral 3.0% (mass fraction) sodium chloride (NaCl) solution has been studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurement in conjunction with the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. EIS information on the evolution of pitting corrosion over a period of 15 days has been obtained and analyzed with equivalent circuit technique. The results shown that, during the ensemble constant immersion time, two time constants involved, the high frequency one originated from the protective layer on the corroding surface while the low frequency one from the diffusion process or the corrosion reaction and so on. And there existed a period for oxide film to growth and thickening prior to the commencement of the attacking of chloride ions to the substrate. Meanwhile, good relationship between EIS and the material corrosion type/ severity has been obtained, which has been interpreted according to the characteristics of corrosion process such as auto acceleration of pitting corrosion and the protection of local anodic reaction to the area around them. | Z. | 6 | Regulating the morphology of fluorinated non-fullerene acceptor and polymer donor via binary solvent mixture for high efficiency polymer solar cells显示文摘Fluorinated non-fullerene acceptors(NFAs) usually have planar backbone and a higher tendency to crystallize compared to their non-fluorinated counterparts, which leads to enhanced charge mobility in organic solar cells(OSCs). However, this selforganization behavior may result in excessive phase separation with electron donors and thereby deteriorate device efficiency.Herein, we demonstrate an effective approach to tune the molecular organization of a fluorinated NFA(INPIC-4 F), and its phase separation with the donor PBDB-T, by varying the casting solvent. A prolonged film drying time encourages the crystallization of INPIC-4 F into spherulites and consequently results in excessive phase separation, leading to a low device power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 8.1%. Contrarily, a drying time leads to fine mixed domains with inefficient charge transport properties,resulting in a moderate device PCE of 11.4%. An intermediate film drying time results in the formation of face-on π-π stacked PBDB-T and INPIC-4 F domains with continuous phase-separated networks, which facilitates light absorption, exciton dissociation as well as balanced charge transport towards the electrode, and achieves a remarkable PCE of 13.1%.
