Introduction to holographic superconductor models显示文摘In the last years it has been shown that some properties of strongly coupled superconductors can be potentially described by classical general relativity living in one higher dimension, which is known as holographic superconductors. This paper gives a quick and introductory overview of some holographic superconductor models with s-wave,p-wave and d-wave orders in the literature from point of view of bottom-up,and summarizes some basic properties of these holographic models in various regimes. The competition and coexistence of these superconductivity orders are also studied in these superconductor models. | CAI RongGen LI Li LI LiFang YANG RunQiu | 2015 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2015,58,6: | 8
The next detectors for gravitational wave astronomy显示文摘This paper focuses on the next detectors for gravitational wave astronomy which will be required after the current ground based detectors have completed their initial observations, and probably achieved the first direct detection of gravitational waves. The next detectors will need to have greater sensitivity, while also enabling the world array of detectors to have improved angular resolution to allow localisation of signal sources. Sect. 1 of this paper begins by reviewing proposals for the next ground based detectors, and presents an analysis of the sensitivity of an 8 km armlength detector, which is proposed as a safe and cost-effective means to attain a 4-fold improvement in sensitivity. The scientific benefits of creating a pair of such detectors in China and Australia is emphasised. Sect. 2 of this paper discusses the high performance suspension systems for test masses that will be an essential component for future detectors, while sect. 3 discusses solutions to the problem of Newtonian noise which arise from fluctuations in gravity gradient forces acting on test masses. Such gravitational perturbations cannot be shielded, and set limits to low frequency sensitivity unless measured and suppressed. Sects. 4 and 5 address critical operational technologies that will be ongoing issues in future detectors. Sect. 4 addresses the design of thermal compensation systems needed in all high optical power interferometers operating at room temperature. Parametric instability control is addressed in sect. 5. Only recently proven to occur in Advanced LIGO, parametric instability phenomenon brings both risks and opportunities for future detectors. The path to future enhancements of detectors will come from quantum measurement technologies. Sect. 6 focuses on the use of optomechanical devices for obtaining enhanced sensitivity, while sect. 7 reviews a range of quantum measurement options. | BLAIR David JU Li ZHAO ChunNong WEN LinQing MIAO HaiXing CAI RongGen GAO JiangRui LIN XueChun LIU Dong WU Ling-An ZHU ZongHong HAMMOND Giles PAIK Ho Jung FAFONE Viviana ROCCHI Alessio BLAIR Carl MA YiQiu QIN JiaYi PAGE Michael | 2015 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2015,58,12: | 3

Gravitational wave astronomy: the current status显示文摘In the centenary year of Einstein's General Theory of Relativity, this paper reviews the current status of gravitational wave astronomy across a spectrum which stretches from attohertz to kilohertz frequencies. Sect. 1 of this paper reviews the historical development of gravitational wave astronomy from Einstein's first prediction to our current understanding the spectrum. It is shown that detection of signals in the audio frequency spectrum can be expected very soon, and that a north-south pair of next generation detectors would provide large scientific benefits. Sect. 2 reviews the theory of gravitational waves and the principles of detection using laser interferometry. The state of the art Advanced LIGO detectors are then described. These detectors have a high chance of detecting the first events in the near future. Sect. 3 reviews the KAGRA detector currently under development in Japan, which will be the first laser interferometer detector to use cryogenic test masses. Sect. 4 of this paper reviews gravitational wave detection in the nanohertz frequency band using the technique of pulsar timing. Sect. 5 reviews the status of gravitational wave detection in the attohertz frequency band, detectable in the polarisation of the cosmic microwave background, and discusses the prospects for detection of primordial waves from the big bang. The techniques described in sects. 1–5 have already placed significant limits on the strength of gravitational wave sources. Sects. 6 and 7 review ambitious plans for future space based gravitational wave detectors in the millihertz frequency band. Sect. 6 presents a roadmap for development of space based gravitational wave detectors by China while sect. 7 discusses a key enabling technology for space interferometry known as time delay interferometry. | BLAIR David JU Li ZHAO ChunNong WEN LinQing CHU Qi FANG Qi CAI RongGen GAO JiangRui LIN XueChun LIU Dong WU Ling-An ZHU ZongHong REITZE David H. | 5 | Editorial显示文摘The paradigm that our universe is dominated by non-luminous matter,i.e.,dark matter, rather than ordinary baryonic matter, has been established since the 1980s.However,the nature of dark matter remains almost unknown. Many ongoing space experiments are aiming at uncovering the particle nature of dark matter via precise measurements of the flux of cosmic-ray particles, with a hope to find fingerprints that tiny annihilations or decays of dark matter may have left.Such | YueLiang Wu RongGen Cai YuFeng Zhout | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,10: | 0
Hawking Evaporation for the 2+1 Dimensional Radiating Black Hole显示文摘By using a metric which is a counterpart of four dimensional Vaidya metric,we have investigated the Hawking evaporation of the 2+1 dimensional radiating black hole. The Hawking temperature of this radiating black hole is given. In a specific case, our result reduces to that of Banados.Teitelboim and Zanelli’s. | CAI Ronggen ZHANG Yijun SU Rukeng | 1995 | Chinese Physics Letters1995,12,7: | 0
Exploring the doubly charmed baryon显示文摘The doubly charmed baryon, like the proton and neutron,is formed by three quarks. However, they are different,as such a baryon consists of two heavy quarks(charm-quark)and one light quark, while the proton and neutron respectively contain three light quarks. Therefore the doubly charmed baryon is expected to have different internal structures and properties. For example, its mass is 3-4 times higher than those of the proton and neutron.Studying the doubly charmed baryons can provide important information to understand the three-body bound system, the hadronic interaction and the quark model. | RongGen Cai | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,2: | 0
Baseline establishment for metals in the western Clarion-Clipperton Zone显示文摘Resource exploitation in the Clarion-Clipperton Zone(CCZ)is of major research interest worldwide, but its influence on the environment is poorly understood, especially due to the lack of baseline values for metals in the surrounding sediment. This work aimed to establish the baseline values of 17 metals(Ba,Ca,K,Mg,Mn,Na,Ag,As,B,Cd,Co,Cr,Cu,Hg,Ni,Pb,and Zn)using normalization, the cumulative frequency curve method considering a total of 172 samples taken from 8 multitube cores and 1 box sediment core collected in the western CCZ during the COMRA-45 cruise campaign from August to September 2017.The baseline values of the evaluated metals were as follows:1932 mg/kg for Ba,29512 mg/kg for Ca,18150 mg/kg for K,17120 mg/kg for Mg,6747 mg/kg for Mn,28546 mg/kg for Na,0.571 mg/kg for Ag,5.00 mg/kg for As,94.4 mg/kg for B,0.626 mg/kg for Cd,104 mg/kg for Co,76.1 mg/kg for Cr,370 mg/kg for Cu,0.028 mg/kg for Hg,190 mg/kg for Ni,27.5 mg/kg for Pb and 156 mg/kg for Zn.Our findings would fill the baseline value gap in the study area and further improve accuracy of environmental impact assessments on the impact of resource exploitation. | Cai Lin Yang Liu Ronggen Jiang Jinmin Chen Baohong Chen Weili Wang Kaiwen Zhou Hui Lin | 2022 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2022,41,11: | 0
Phase Transition in 1+1 Dimensional Charged Dilaton Black Holes显示文摘Using the Landau phase transition theory,we calculate some second moments of ther-modynamical quantities for two-dimensional charged dilaton black boles. We find that some second moments diverge, and a nonequilibrium phase transition occurs when the two-dimensional charged black boles are from the nonextreme to the extreme. | CAI Ronggen SU Rukeng | 1994 | Chinese Physics Letters1994,11,8: | 0
Hunting the doubly charmed baryon with strangeness显示文摘In the standard model of particle physics, the baryon is formed by three quarks. Unlike the well-known proton and neutron that are composed of three light quarks, the doubly charmed baryon consists of two heavy charm quarks and a light quark. Therefore, it is expected to have different internal structures and properties, and to serve as a unique system for understanding the three-body bound system and testing the mechanism of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). | RongGen Cai | 2021 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2021,64,10: | 0
