1Synthesis of novel nanomaterials and their application in efficient removal of radionuclides显示文摘With the development of nuclear energy, large amounts of radionuclides are inevitably released into the natural environment. It is necessary to eliminate radionuclides from wastewater for the protection of environment. Nanomaterials have been considered as the potential candidates for the effective and selective removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions under complicated conditions because of their high specific surface area, large amounts of binding sites, abundant functional groups, pore-size controllable and easily surface modification. This review mainly summarized the recent studies for the synthesis, fabrication and surface modification of novel nanomaterials and their applications in the efficient elimination and solidification of radionuclides,and discussed the interaction mechanisms from batch experiments, spectroscopy analysis and theoretical calculations. 2Reductive immobilization of Re(VⅡ)by graphene modified nanoscale zero-valent iron particles using a plasma technique显示文摘Technetium-99(~99Tc),largely produced by nuclear fission of ~235U or ~239Pu,is a component of radioactive waste.This study focused on a remediation strategy for the reduction of pertechnetate(Tc O_4^-)by studying its chemical analogue rhenium(Re(VⅡ))to avoid the complication of directly working with radioactive elements.Nanoscale zero-valent iron particles supported on graphene(NZVI/r GOs)from GOs-bound Fe ions were prepared by using a H_2/Ar plasma technique and were applied in the reductive immobilization of perrhenate(Re O_4^-).The experimental results demonstrated that NZVI/r GOs could efficiently remove Re from the aqueous solution,with enhanced reactivity,improved kinetics(50 min to reach equilibrium)and excellent removal capacity(85.77 mg/g).The results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed that the mechanisms of Re immobilization by NZVI/r GOs included adsorption and reduction,which are significant to the prediction and estimation of the effectiveness of reductive Tc O_4^- by NZVI/r GOs in the natural environment.Jie Li Changlun Chen Rui Zhang Xiangke Wang 2016Science China Chemistry2016,59,1:11
3Creep characteristics of coal and rock investigated by nanoindentation显示文摘In coal mining industry,with the depth growing of coal mines,the creep behaviours of coal and rock can extensively affect the mining safety,coalbed methane recovery and geo-sequestration.To acquire a better insight into their creep characteristics,an efficient and robust researching technique,nanoindentation,was applied to investigate the creep performances of coal and rock samples obtained from two coal mines in the east of China.Creep characteristics were reflected by evaluating the curves of creep depth versus creep time of nanoindentation tests during the load-holding period at the peak load of 30 mN.These curves can be divided into two stages:transient stage and steady stage;and the time of load-holding period of 5 s,which is the dividing point between two stages,can efficiently avoid the influence of creep displacement on the unloading curves.The exponential function can perfectly fit creep curves and Kelvin model can be used to calculate the rheological parameters of coal and rock samples.Calculated results yield values for the creep modulus and viscosity terms of coal and rock.This study also settled a particular emphasis on the selection of the positions of indentations to obtain the rheological properties of mineralogical constituents in heterogonous coal and rock samples and their elastic aftereffect.Changlun Sun Guichen Li Mohamed Elgharib Gomah Jiahui Xu Yuantian Sun 2020International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2020,30,6:8
4Nanoscale zero-valent iron/magnetite carbon composites for highly efficient immobilization of U(Ⅵ)显示文摘Nanoscale zerovalent iron/magnetic carbon(NZVI/MC) composites were successfully synthesized by simply calcining yellow pine and iron precursors. NZVI/MC pyrolyzed at 800°C(NZVI/MC800) had a higher percentage of NZVI and displayed better resistance to aggregation and oxidation of NZVI than samples prepared at other temperatures. The NZVI/MC800 material was applied for the elimination of U(Ⅵ) from aqueous solutions. The results suggested that the NZVI/MC800 displayed excellent adsorption capacity(203.94 mg/g)toward U(Ⅵ). The significant adsorption capacity and fast adsorption kinetics were attributed to the presence of well-dispersed NZVI, which could quickly reduce U(Ⅵ) into U(Ⅳ), trapping the guest U(Ⅳ) in the porous biocarbon matrix. The removal of U(Ⅵ) on the NZVI/MC samples was strongly affected by solution pH. The NZVI/MC samples also displayed outstanding reusability for U(Ⅵ) removal after multiple cycles. 5Investigation of radionuclide ^(60)Co(Ⅱ) binding to TiO_2 by batch technique,surface complexation model and DFT calculations显示文摘The interaction between radionuclides and solid/water interfaces is important to understand the physicochemical processes of radionuclides in the natural environment.Herein,the interaction of 60Co(Ⅱ) with TiO 2 in aqueous solution as a function of pH and ionic strength was studied by using batch technique combined with surface complexation model and density functional theory(DFT) calculations.The batch experimental results showed that the adsorption of 60Co(Ⅱ) was dependent on pH and independent of ionic strength,indicating the formation of inner-sphere surface complexes on TiO 2 surfaces.The results of surface complexation models and DFT calculations indicated that the surface species of 60Co(Ⅱ) adsorbed on TiO 2 followed the trend:B structure(i.e.,60Co(Ⅱ) was linked to one bridge oxygen site) was the dominant surface species at low pH,and TT structure(i.e.,60Co(Ⅱ) was linked to two terminal oxygen sites) became the important surface complex at neutral and alkaline pH values.These results demonstrated that a multi-technique approach could lead to definitive information on the structures of adsorbed 60Co(Ⅱ) at the molecular level at the TiO 2 /water interfaces,as well as realistic models to rationalize and accurately evaluate the macroscopic manifestations of radionuclide adsorption phenomena.REN XueMei YANG ShiTong TAN XiaoLi CHEN ChangLun WANG XiangKe 2012Science China Chemistry2012,55,9:4
6Evaluation of Antitumor,Immunomodulatory and Free Radical Scavenging Effects of A New Herbal Prescription Seaweed Complex Preparation显示文摘Seaweed Complex Preparation(SCP) is a clinical traditional Chinese medicine preparation which is composed of seven traditional Chinese herbs,and it has been used for treatment of lung cancer,liver cancer and digestive cancer.However,little information is available about the pharmacodynamic basis.The antitumor,immunomodulatory and free radical scavenging effects of SCP were evaluated in this study.Transplanted tumor in vivo method was used to determine the antitumor effect.The effects on splenocyte proliferation and phagocytosis of macrophages in tumor-bearing mice were measured by the MTT method and the phagocytizing cock red blood cell(CRBC) method respectively.The scavenging activities of SCP on DPPH and hydroxyl radicals in vitro were investigated.It was found that the medium-dose and high-dose of SCP could significantly inhibit the growth of transplanted hepatic tumor of murine hepatocarcinoma cell line H22,and promote proliferation of splenocytes and phagocytosis of macrophages.SCP possessed noticeable scavenging activities on DPPH and hydroxyl radicals.The antitumor effects of SCP might be achieved by improving immune system and scavenging free radicals,which is in accordance with the viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine in promoting the body resistance and eliminating pathogenic factors for cancer treatment.LIU Xin SHAO Changlun KONG Wenwen FANG Yuchun WANG Changyun 2013Journal of Ocean University of China2013,12,3:3
7Experimental investigation on the nanoindentation viscoelastic constitutive model of quartz and kaolinite in mudstone显示文摘The creep behaviors in deep underground engineering structures,especially in soft rocks,have a remarkable impact on the long-term stability of the excavations,which finally leads to the high risk and failure of it.Accordingly,it is essential to recognize the time-dependent deformation through the investigation of this phenomenon.In this study,the creep behaviors of soft rocks were examined to help understand the underlying mechanism of the extended time-dependent deformation.Due to the limited results about the time-dependent properties of the constituents of the rock that reveal their heterogeneity,the targeting nanoindentation technique(TNIT),was adopted to investigate the viscoelastic characteristics of kaolinite and quartz in a two-constituent mudstone sample.The TNIT consists of identifications of mineralogical ingredients in mudstone and nanoindentation experiments on each identified constituent.After conducting experiments,the unloading stages of the typical indentation curves were analyzed to calculate the hardness and elastic modulus of both elements in mudstone.Additionally,the 180 s load-holding stages with the peak load of 50 mN were transformed into the typical creep strain-time curves for fitting analysis by using the Kelvin model,the standard viscoelastic model,and the extended viscoelastic model.Fitting results show that the standard viscoelastic model not only can perfectly express the nanoindentation creep behaviors of both kaolinite and quartz but also can produce suitable constants used to measure their creep parameters.The creep parameters of kaolinite are much smaller than that of quartz,which causes the considerable time-dependent deformation of the soft mudstone.Eventually,the standard viscoelastic model was also verified on the quartz in a sandstone sample.Changlun Sun Guichen Li Mohamed Elgharib Gomah Jiahui Xu Haoyu Rong 2021International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2021,8,5:2
