1Microstructure evolution and interface structure of Al-40 wt% Si composites produced by high-energy ball milling显示文摘High silicon content Al-Si composites with a composition of Al-40 wt% Si were fabricated via a highenergy ball milling method. The microstructure evolution of Al-40 wt% Si milled powders and sintered composites has been thoroughly studied by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energydispersive spectrometry and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The mechanism of ball milling Al-40 wt% Si powders has been disclosed in detail: fracture mechanism dominating in the early stages, followed by the agglomeration mechanism, finally reaching the balance between the fragments and the agglomerates. It has been found that the average particle sizes of mixed Al-Si powders can be refined to the nanoscale, and the crystallite sizes of Al and Si have been reduced to 10nm and 62nm upon milling for 2h–50h, respectively. The finally formed Al-Si interfaces after ball milling for 50h are wellcohesive. A dense and homogenous Al-40 wt% Si composite have been achieved by solid-state sintering at550?C. 9Intestinal Wnt in the transition from physiology to oncology显示文摘Adult stem cells are necessary for self-renewal tissues and regeneration after damage.Especially in the intestine,which self-renews every few days,they play a key role in tissue homeostasis.Therefore,complex regulatory mechanisms are needed to prevent hyperproliferation,which can lead in the worst case to carcinogenesis or under-activation of stem cells,which can result in dysfunctional epithelial.One main regulatory signaling pathway is the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.It is a highly conserved pathway,withβ-catenin,a transcription factor,as target protein.Translocation ofβ-catenin from cytoplasm to nucleus activates the transcription of numerous genes involved in regulating stem cell pluripotency,proliferation,cell differentiation and regulation of cell death.This review presents a brief overview of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,the regulatory mechanism of this pathway and its role in intestinal homeostasis.Additionally,this review highlights the molecular mechanisms and the histomorphological features of Wnt hyperactivation.Furthermore,the central role of the Wnt signaling pathway in intestinal carcinogenesis as well as its clinical relevance in colorectal carcinoma are discussed.Julia Swoboda Patrick Mittelsdorf Yuan Chen Ralf Weiskirchen Johannes Stallhofer Silke Schüle Nikolaus Gassler 2022World Journal of Clinical Oncology2022,13,3:1

16Observation of magnetic domain evolution in constrained epitaxial Ni–Mn–Ga thin films on MgO(0 0 1) substrate显示文摘Epitaxial Ni–Mn–Ga thin films have promising application potential in micro-electro-mechanical sensing and actuation systems. To date, large abrupt magnetization changes have been observed in some epitaxial Ni–Mn–Ga thin films, but their origin-either from magnetically induced martensite variant reorientation(MIR) or magnetic domain evolution-has been discussed controversially. In the present work, we investigated the evolutions of the magnetic domain and microstructure of a typical epitaxial Ni–Mn–Ga thin film through wide-field magneto-optical Kerr-microscopy. 17Degeneration of foundation cushion species induced by ecological constraints can cause massive changes in alpine plant communities显示文摘Foundational cushion plants can re-organize community structures and sustain a prominent proportion of alpine biodiversity,but they are sensitive to climate change.The loss of cushion species can have broad consequences for associated biota.The potential plant community changes with the population dynamics of cushion plants remain,however,unclear.Using eight plant communities along a climatic and community successional gradient,we assessed cushion population dynamics,the underlying ecological constraints and hence associated plant community changes in alpine communities dominated by the foundational cushion plant Arenaria polytrichoides.The population dynamics of Arenaria are attributed to ecological constraints at a series of life history stages.Reproductive functions are constrained by increasing associated beneficiary plants;subsequent seedling establishment is constrained by temperature,water and light availability,extreme climate events,and interspecific competition;strong competitive exclusion may accelerate mortality and degeneration of cushion populations.Along with cushion dynamics,species composition,abundance and community structure gradually change.Once cushion plants completely degenerate,previously cushion-dominated communities shift to relatively stable communities that are overwhelmingly dominated by sedges.Climate warming may accelerate the degeneration process of A.polytrichoides.Degeneration of this foundational cushion plant will possibly induce massive changes in alpine plant communities and hence ecosystem functions in alpine ecosystems.The assessment of the population dynamics of foundation species is critical for an effective conservation of alpine biodiversity.Jianguo Chen Xufang Chen Lishen Qian Yazhou Zhang Bo Li Honghua Shi Lu Sun Christian Schöb Hang Sun 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,4:0
