2ASAF: altered spontaneous activity fingerprinting in Alzheimer’s disease based on multisite fMRI显示文摘Several monocentric studies have noted alterations in spontaneous brain activity in Alzheimer's disease (AD), although there is no consensus on the altered amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations in AD patients. The main aim of the present study was to identify a reliable and reproducible abnormal brain activity pattern in AD. The amplitude of local brain activity (AM), which can provide fast mapping of spontaneous brain activity across the whole brain, was evaluated based on multisite rs-fMRI data for 688 subjects (215 normal controls (NCs), 221 amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI) 252 AD). Two-sample t-tests were used to detect group differences between AD patients and NCs from the same site. Differences in the AM maps were statistically analyzed via the Stouffer's meta-analysis. Consistent regions of lower spontaneous brain activity in the default mode network and increased activity in the bilateral hippocampus/parahippocampus, thalamus, caudate nucleus, orbital part of the middle frontal gyrus and left fusiform were observed in the AD patients compared with those in NCs. 4Carbon isotopic record from Upper Devonian carbonates at Dongcun in Guilin, southern China, supporting the world- wide pattern of carbon isotope excursions during Frasnian-Famennian transition显示文摘Two positive d 13C excursions are presented in records from the Frasnian-Famennian (F-F) marine carbon-ate sediments in Europe, America, Africa, and Australia, having been considered as a worldwide pattern, and attrib-uted to enhanced organic carbon burial during the F-F biological mass extinction. However, this worldwide pattern has not been revealed from the well-deposited Late Devonian sequences in southern China. In this paper, a detailed inves-tigation has been made on the Late Devonian section at Dongcun, Guilin, southern China to constrain perturbations in d 13C of carbonates in the F-F deposited sequence. The result from this section also indicates two positive d 13C ex-cursions during the F-F transition. The first excursion with an amplitude of 1.5 occurred at the bottom of linguiformis Zone, later than the early excursion existing in the Late rhe-nana Zone of the Late Devonian profiles in other continents, especially, in central Europe. This difference has been ex-pected to be a result as conodont Palmatolepis linguiformis occurred earlier in southern China than other sites. The second excursion with an amplitude of 2.1 is located at the F-F boundary, same as the records from other continents. 10High-rate CH_(4)-to-C_(2)H_(6) photoconversion enabled by Au/ZnO porous nanosheets under oxygen-free system显示文摘Photocatalytic CH_(4) coupling into high-valued C_(2)H_(6) is highly attractive,whereas the photosynthetic rate,especially under oxygen-free system,is still unsatisfying.Here,we designed the negatively charged metal supported on metal oxide nanosheets to activate the inert C-H bond in CH_(4)and hence accelerate CH_(4) coupling performance.As an example,the synthetic Au/ZnO porous nanosheets exhibit the C_(2)H_(6) photosynthetic rate of 1,121.6μmol g^(-1)_(cat)h^(-1)and the CH_(4) conversion rate of 2,374.6μmol g^(-1)_(cat)h^(-1) under oxygen-free system,2 orders of magnitude higher than those of previously reported photocatalysts.By virtue of several in situ spectroscopic techniques,it is established that the generated Au^(δ-)and O^-species together polarized the C-H bond,while the Au^(δ-)and O^-species jointly stabilized the CH_(3) intermediates,which favored the coupling of CH_(3) intermediate to photosynthesize C_(2)H_(6) instead of overoxidation into CO_(x).Thus,the design of dual active species is beneficial for achieving high-efficient CH_(4)-to-C_(2)H_(6) photoconversion.Kai Zheng Xiaojing Zhang Jun Hu Chengbin Xu Juncheng Zhu Jing Li Mingyu Wu Shan Zhu Li Li Shumin Wang Yumei Lv Xin He Ming Zuo Chengyuan Liu Yang Pan Junfa Zhu Yongfu Sun Yi Xie 2024Science China Chemistry2024,67,3:0
11A thermo-hydro-mechano-chemical formulation for modeling water transport around a ventilated tunnel in an argillaceous rock显示文摘Argillaceous rocks are being considered as potential host rocks for deep geological disposal. For the research work in DECOVALEX-2011, 5 participant research teams performed simulations of a laboratory drying test and a ventilation experiment for Mont Terri underground laboratory built in argillaceous rock formation. Our study starts with establishing a coupled thermo-hydro-mechano-chemical (THMC) processes model to simulate water transport in rock around the ventilated tunnel. Especially in this THMC formulation, a three-phase and two-constituent hydraulic model is introduced to simulate the processes which occur during tunnel ventilation, including desaturation/resaturation in the rock, phase change and air/rock interface, and to explore the Opalinus clay parameter set. It can be found that water content evolution is very sensitive to intrinsic permeability, relative permeability and capillary pressure in clay rock. Water loss from surrounding rock is sensitive to the change of permeability in clay which is induced by excavation damaged zone. Chemical solute transport in the rock near ventilation experiment tunnel is simulated based on the coupled THMC formulation. It can be estimated that chemical osmotic flow has little significance on water flow modeling. Comparisons between simulation results from 5 teams and experimental observations show good agreement. 14Shared Core Microbiome and Functionality of Key Taxa Suppressive to Banana Fusarium Wilt显示文摘Microbial contributions to natural soil suppressiveness have been reported for a range of plant pathogens and cropping systems.To disentangle the mechanisms underlying suppression of banana Panama disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.cubense tropical race 4(Foc4),we used amplicon sequencing to analyze the composition of the soil microbiome from six separate locations,each comprised of paired orchards,one potentially suppressive and one conducive to the disease.Functional potentials of the microbiomes from one site were further examined by shotgun metagenomic sequencing after soil suppressiveness was confrmed by greenhouse experiments.Potential key antagonists involved in disease suppression were also isolated,and their activities were validated by a combination of microcosm and pot experiments.We found that potentially suppressive soils shared a common core community with relatively low levels of F.oxysporum and relatively high proportions of Myxococcales,Pseudomonadales,and Xanthomonadales,with five genera,Anaeromyxobacter,Kofleria,Plesiocystis,Pseudomonas,and Rhodanobacter being significantly enriched.Further,Pseudomonas was identified as a potential key taxon linked to pathogen suppression.Metagenomic analysis showed that,compared to the conducive soil,the microbiome in the disease suppressive soil displayed a significantly greater incidence of genes related to quorum sensing,biofilm formation,and synthesis of antimicrobial compounds potentially active against Foc4.We also recovered a higher frequency of antagonistic Pseudomonas isolates from disease suppressive experimental field sites,and their protective effects against banana Fusarium wilt disease were demonstrated under greenhouse conditions.Despite differences in location and soil conditions,separately located suppressive soils shared common characteristics,including enrichment of Myxococcales,Pseudomonadales,and Xanthomonadales,and enrichment of specific Pseudomonas populations with antagonistic activity against the pathogen.Moreover,changes in functional capacity toward an increase in quorum sensing,biofilm formation,and antimicrobial compound synthesizing involve in disease suppression.Zongzhuan Shen Linda S.Thomashow Yannan Ou Chengyuan Tao Jiabao Wang Wu Xiong Hongjun Liu Rong Li Qirong Shen George A.Kowalchuk 2023Research2023,,1:0

17The Study of Helium Variations in Star Clusters Using China Space Station Telescope显示文摘The China Space Station Telescope(CSST)is a 2 m space-based optical-UV telescope.Its primary goal is to carry out a high-resolution photometric imaging survey of a 17,500 square degree sky area using the on board Survey Camera.With its wide field of view(1.1 square degrees)and a mosaic imager containing 640 million pixels,studying the different populations of stars within star clusters is highly feasible.The aim of this study is to assess the CSST's ability to distinguish between stellar populations with varying helium abundance levels,with the help of Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics.The results of the CSST's photometry for these different populations are presented by transferring the models into the CSST Survey Camera photometric system.The findings confirm that helium-enriched stellar populations will have unique patterns in the color-magnitude diagrams under the CSST photometric system,compared to normal stellar populations.The CSST,with its filters and wide field of view of the Survey Camera,provides a new avenue for the study of multiple populations in star clusters.Xin Ji Licai Deng Yang Chen Chengyuan Li Chao Liu 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,7:0
18Spatio-temporal variations of shallow seismic velocity changes in Salton Sea Geothermal Field,California in response to large regional earthquakes and long-term geothermal activities显示文摘We measure spatio-temporal variations of seismic velocity changes in Salton Sea Geothermal Field,California based on cross correlations of daily seismic traces recorded by a borehole seismic network from December 2007 to January 2014.We find clear co-seismic velocity reductions during the 2010 M 7.2 El Mayor–Cucapah,Mexico earthquake at~100 km further south,followed by long-term recoveries.The co-seismic reductions are larger with longer post-seismic recoveries in higher frequency bands,indicating that material damage and healing process mostly occurred in the shallow depth.In addition,the co-seismic velocity reductions are larger for ray paths outside the active fluid injection/extraction regions.The ray paths inside injection/extraction regions are associated with smaller co-seismic reductions,but subtle long-term velocity increases.We also build 3D transient water flow models based on monthly injection/extraction rates,and find correlations between several water flow parameters and co-seismic velocity reductions.We interpret the relative lack of co-seismic velocity changes within the geothermal region as unclogging of fracture network due to persistent fluid flows of geothermal production.The long-term velocity increase is likely associated with the ground water depletion and subsidence due to net production.Chengyuan Zhang Zhigang Peng Xiaoyan Liu Chenyu Li 2023Earthquake Research Advances2023,3,2:0

20Turbidity-adaptive underwater image enhancement method using image fusion显示文摘Clear,correct imaging is a prerequisite for underwater operations.In real freshwater environment including rivers and lakes,the water bodies are usually turbid and dynamic,which brings extra troubles to quality of imaging due to color deviation and suspended particulate.Most of the existing underwater imaging methods focus on relatively clear underwater environment,it is uncertain that if those methods can work well in turbid and dynamic underwater environments.In this paper,we propose a turbidity-adaptive underwater image enhancement method.To deal with attenuation and scattering of varying degree,the turbidity is detected by the histogram of images.Based on the detection result,different image enhancement strategies are designed to deal with the problem of color deviation and blurring.The proposed method is verified by an underwater image dataset captured in real underwater environment.The result is evaluated by image metrics including structure similarity index measure,underwater color image quality evaluation metric,and speeded-up robust features.Test results exhibit that the method can correct the color deviation and improve the quality of underwater images.Bin HAN Hao WANG Xin LUO Chengyuan LIANG Xin YANG Shuang LIU Yicheng LIN 2022Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2022,17,3:0
