1Aggregation-induced emission: a coming-of-age ceremony at the age of eighteen显示文摘Aggregation-induced emission(AIE) has drawn great attention worldwide for its unique optical phenomenon and huge potential applications. Since coined by Ben Zhong Tang et al. in 2001, AIE has been deeply investigated and widely utilized in many important areas, such as organic light-emitting diode(OLED), sensor, and bio-imaging. Herein, we highlight some important progress of AIE in these eighteen years, including the exploration of internal mechanism and potential applications. Furthermore,some other interestingly emissive behaviors, originating but distinguishing from the AIE concept, are presented. 2One-step approach for full-thickness skin defect reconstruction in rats using minced split-thickness skin grafts with Pelnac overlay显示文摘Background:Split-thickness skin grafting is the current gold standard for the treatment of traumatic skin loss.However,for patients with extensive burns,split-thickness skin grafting is limited by donor skin availability.Grafting split-thickness skin minced into micrografts increases the expansion ratio but may reduce wound repair quality.Dermal substitutes such as Pelnac can enhance the healing of full-thickness skin wounds,but their application currently requires two surgeries.The present study investigated whether it is possible to repair full-thickness skin defects and improve wound healing quality in a single surgery using Pelnac as an overlay of minced split-thickness skin grafts in a rat model.Methods:A full-thickness skin defect model was established using male Sprague-Dawley rats of 10 weeks old.The animals were randomly divided into control and experimental groups in which Vaseline gauze and Pelnac,respectively,were overlaid on minced split-thickness skin grafts to repair the defects.Wound healing rate and quality were compared between the two groups.For better illustration of the quality of wound healing,some results were compared with those obtained for normal skin of rats.Results:We found that using Pelnac as an overlay for minced split-thickness skin grafts accelerated wound closure and stimulated cell proliferation and tissue angiogenesis.In addition,this approach enhanced collagen synthesis and increased the formation of basement membrane and dermis as well as the expression of growth factors related to wound healing while reducing scar formation.Conclusions:Using minced split-thickness skin grafts overlaid with Pelnac enables the reconstruction of fullthickness skin defects in a single step and can increase the healing rate while improving the quality of wound healing.Tong Liu Chao Qiu Chi Ben Haihang Li Shihui Zhu 2019Burns & Trauma2019,7,1:7
3Effect of industrial microwave irradiation on the physicochemical properties and pyrolysis characteristics of lignite显示文摘The surface functional groups and pyrolysis characteristics of lignite irradiated by microwave were comparatively studied to evaluate the feasibility of using industrial 915 MHz for lignite drying. The drying kinetics, micro structure, chemical functional groups, re-adsorption properties, and pyrolysis characteristics of the dried coal were respectively analyzed. Results indicated that for typical Chinese lignite studied in this paper, 915 MHz microwave drying was 7.8 times faster than that of the hot air drying. After industrial microwave drying, the sample possessed much higher total specific surface area and specific pore volume than that of air dried sample. The oxygen functional groups and re-adsorption ratio of microwave irradiated coal decreased, showing weakened hydrophilicity. Moreover, during the pyrolysis of the coal dried by hot air and microwave, the yield of tar largely increased from 1.3% to 8.5% and the gas production increased correspondingly. 4Facile Synthesis of Functional Poly(methyltriazolylcarboxylate)s by Solvent-and Catalyst-free Butynoate-Azide Polycycloaddition显示文摘The copper-catalyzed and metal-free azide-alkyne click polymerizations have become efficient tools for polymer synthesis. However,the 1,3-dipolar polycycloadditions between internal alkynes and azides are rarely employed to construct functional polymers. Herein, the polycycloadditions of dibutynoate(1) and tetraphenylethene-containing diazides(2) were carried out at 100 °C for 12 h under solvent-and catalyst-free conditions, producing soluble poly(methyltriazolylcarboxylate)s(PMTCs) with high molecular weights in high yields. The resultant polymers were thermally stable with 5% weight loss temperatures up to 377 °C. The PMTCs showed aggregation-induced emission(AIE)properties. They could work as fluorescent sensors for detecting explosive with high sensitivity, and generate two-dimensional fluorescent photopatterns with high resolution. 5Synthesis of Functional Hyperbranched Poly(methyltriazolylcarboxylate)s by Catalyst-free Click Polymerization of Butynoates and Azides显示文摘Azide-alkyne click polymerization has become a powerful tool for polymer synthesis.However,the click polymerization between internal alkynes and azides is rarely utilized to prepare functional polymers.In this work,the polymerization reactions of activated internal alkyne monomers of tris(2-butynoate)s(1)with tetraphenylethene-containing diazides(2)were performed in dimethylformamide(DMF)under simple heating,affording four hyperbranched poly(methyltriazolylcarboxylate)s(hb-PMTCs)with high molecular weights(A4W up to 2.4 x 104)and regioregularities(up to 83.9%)in good yields.The hb-PMTCs are soluble in common organic solvents,and thermally stable with 5%weight loss temperatures up to 400℃.They are non-emissive in dilute solution,but become highly emissive in aggregated state,exhibiting aggregationinduced emission characteristics.The polymers can generate fluorescent photopatterns with high resolution,and can work as fluorescent sensors to detect nitroaromatic explosive with high sensitivity.Mu-Ning Lang Wei-Wen Chi Ting Han Qing-Zhen Zhao Hong-Kun Li Ben Zhong Tang Yong-Fang Li 2020Chinese Journal of Polymer Science2020,38,11:2

12Effects of Medicines and Supplements on Spontaneous Pregnancy and Semen Parameters in Male Infertility:A Systematic Review Update and Network Meta-Analysis显示文摘In this study,we used a network meta-analysis(NMA)to compare the effectiveness of medicines and supplements for idiopathic male infertility and to identify the best treatment.Medline,Excerpta Medica Database(EMBASE),Ovid,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),were searched for the period from January 1990 to June 2021 using the keywords'male infertility,''medical therapy,''supplement/nutrient therapy,'and related terms.Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)investigating medicines(mainly follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),androgen,and clomiphene/tamoxifen)or supplements(mainly zinc,selenium,vitamin C or E,carnitine,coenzyme Q10(CoQ10),or combined treatment)for idiopathic infertile men were selected for meta-analysis.Preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analysis(PRISMA)was used for data extraction,and a risk-of-bias tool and grades of recommendation,assessment,development,and evaluation(GRADE)system adapted to the NMA were employed to assess the quality of the evidence.The primary outcomes were live birth and spontaneous pregnancy rate(SPR).The secondary outcomes were sperm parameters(including concentration,progressive motility,and morphology)and side effects.In total,65 RCTs involving 7541 men with sperm abnormalities but normal hormone levels were included.A total of 36 studies reported SPR but only three reported live birth rates.The quality of the included studies was found to be moderate to high.Compared with a placebo or being untreated,carnitine plus vitamins significantly improved SPR(relative risk(RR)=3.7,95%confidence interval(95%CI),1.6-8.5);fatty acids significantly increased sperm concentrations(mean difference(MD)=12.5×10^(6)mL-1,95%CI,3.1×10^(6)-22.0×10^(6));and selective estrogen receptor modulator(SERM)plus CoQ10 significantly improved sperm progressive motility(MD=11.0%,95%CI,0.1%-21.9%)and normal sperm morphology(MD=11.0%,95%CI,4.6%-17.4%).The most optimal intervention was carnitine plus vitamins and fatty acids for SPR and sperm concentrations,respectively,even after excluding trials at a high risk of bias.Compared with a placebo or being untreated,FSH(RR=4.9,95%CI,1.1-21.3)significantly increased SPR,whereas SERM plus kallikrein increased sperm concentration(MD=16.5×10^(6)mL^(-1),95%CI,1.6×10^(6)-31.4×10^(6)),and SERM plus CoQ10 significantly improved sperm progressive motility(MD=11.3%,95%CI,7.3%-15.4%)and normal morphology(MD=11.2%,95%CI,5.4%-16.9%)in men with oligoasthenozoospermia(OA).In terms of side effects,fatty acids and pentoxifylline were associated with foul breath and/or a bad taste(RR=8.1,95%CI,1.0-63.5)and vomiting(RR=8.0,95%CI,1.0-63.0),respectively.In conclusion,the optimal treatment for male infertility for live birth is still unknown.Carnitine plus vitamins and FSH are likely to be better than other therapies in achieving successful spontaneous pregnancy in couples overall and in cou ples with men with OA,respectively.The efficacy of other treatments on pregnancy outcomes warrants further verification.Jian Li Qi Wu Ernest Hung Yu Ng Ben Willem J.Mol Xiao Ke Wu Chi Chiu Wang 2022Engineering2022,,9:0
13Solubility and Anisotropic Migration Behaviors of Helium in bcc Iron Under Strain显示文摘The different solution and migration behaviors of tetrahedral and octahedral interstitial helium in bcc iron have been investigated by using first principles calculations. We showed that the tetrahedral site has less charge transfer and less redistribution of the density of states but stronger bonding and a lower solution energy. This is due to the coupling between the symmetrical facts of the two interstitial atoms and the 3 d orbitals of Fe atoms. The solution energies of both sites are not significantly influenced by applied normal strains of 2% and 4%. In contrast, the migration barriers have the reverse trends for different migration directions under strain, which can be explained by an anisotropic elastic energy change and charge transfer. 16A NOVEL ZWITTERIONIC SILANE COUPLING AGENT FOR NONTHROMBOGENIC BIOMATERIALS显示文摘A novel silane coupling agent bearing sulfobetaine group, N,N-diethyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl)-aminopropyl-trimethoxysilane (DESATS), was first designed, synthesized and characterized. Its solution property was studied by means of dynamic light scattering. DESATS was successfully bonded onto the surface of the glass and proved by ESCA.
