1Passive optical networks based on optical CDMA: Design and system analysis显示文摘In this paper, a novel Passive Optical Network based on Optical Code Division Multiple Access (OCDMA-PON) is presented. The design of the Optical Line Terminator (OLT) and the Optical Network Unit (ONU) for the OCDMA-PON are studied in detail. The proposed OCDMA-PON combines the ad- vantages of PON and OCDMA technology and it can be applied to an optical access network with full services on demand, such as internet protocol, video on demand, tele-presence and high quality audio. Compared to other multiple access technologies, the proposed OCDMA-PON provides more ONU and assembly flexibly for PON. We analyze in detail the scalability and system transmission performance of such a network. Simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme is feasible and that the novel design can improve the scalability and transmission performance of the optical access networks.ZHANG ChongFu QIU Kun XU Bo 2007Chinese Science Bulletin2007,52,1:5
2Photoelastic Visualization of Ultrasound Generated by Pulsed Laser显示文摘We applied the dynamic photoelastic technique to visualize the ultrasound generated in a glass sample by an Nd:YAG pulsed laser.When a laser pulse was incident on the surface of the glass sample covered,by thin layer of black ink,narrow pulses of JongitudinaJ,shear,and surface acoustic waves were seen in the sample.The photoelastic picture also showed that the directivity patterns of ultrasound generated in the present case qualitatively agree with the theoretical prediction for the case of a normal surface-acting force.ZHANG Shouyu ZHANG Pengzhi SHEN Jianzhong DENG Jingjun YING Chongfu 1993Chinese Physics Letters1993,10,12:5

4Disaster Risk Science:A Geographical Perspective and a Research Framework显示文摘In this article,we recall the United Nations’30-year journey in disaster risk reduction strategy and framework,review the latest progress and key scientific and technological questions related to the United Nations disaster risk reduction initiatives,and summarize the framework and contents of disaster risk science research.The object of disaster risk science research is the'disaster system'consisting of hazard,the geographical environment,and exposed units,with features of regionality,interconnectedness,coupling,and complexity.Environmental stability,hazard threat,and socioeconomic vulnerability together determine the way that disasters are formed,establish the spatial extent of disaster impact,and generate the scale of losses.In the formation of a disaster,a conducive environment is the prerequisite,a hazard is the necessary condition,and socioeconomic exposure is the sufficient condition.The geographical environment affects local hazard intensity and therefore can change the pattern of loss distribution.Regional multi-hazard,disaster chain,and disaster compound could induce complex impacts,amplifying or attenuating hazard intensity and changing the scope of affected areas.In the light of research progress,particularly in the context of China,we propose a threelayer disaster risk science disciplinary structure,which contains three pillars(disaster science,disaster technology,and disaster governance),nine core areas,and 27 research fields.Based on these elements,we discuss the frontiers in disaster risk science research.Peijun Shi Tao Ye Ying Wang Tao Zhou Wei Xu Juan Du Jing'ai Wang Ning Li Chongfu Huang Lianyou Liu Bo Chen Yun Su Weihua Fang Ming Wang Xiaobin Hu Jidong Wu Chunyang He Qiang Zhang Qian Ye Carlo Jaeger Norio Okada 2020International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2020,11,4:4
5SCATTERING OF A GRAZING LONGITUDINAL WAVE PULSE BY A RIBBON-TYPE CRACK—THE SECOND-ORDER APPROXIMATE SOLUTION显示文摘Scattering of an incident grazing longitudinal ultrasonic wave pulse by a traction-free ribbon-typecrack in solid is theoretically analyzed.An exact series solution of the scattered field is obtained byiteration.Each term of the series corresponds roughly to one of the rescattering processes by the respectivecrack tips.The first two terms,which combine to form the second order approximate solution,are dis-cussed in detail.This 2nd-order solution includes scattered cylindrical longitudinal waves,cylindricalshear waves,head waves and surface waves on the crack surfaces,and it gives good description of theearly-time wave field.SHEN Jianzhong and YING Chongfu(Institute of Acoustics, Academa Sinica) 1989Chinese Journal of Acoustics1989,8,1:3
6Cavitation field from a horn—A new model显示文摘The cavitation field from a horn-type transducer is experimentally probed by the optical method.Based on these observations,we propose a model of the field which hypothesizes that most violent caviation bubbles originate from the vibrating surface and there-from fast drift to the near liquid region.These bubbles are chiefly responsible for the practical applications of cavitation for a large power input to the transducer.During migration they become weakened.Cavitation bubbles are also produced in the liquid region by the acoustic wave directly emitted by the transducer,but these bubbles are weak due to the shielding effect of the bubbles clinging to the transducer vibrating surface.Consequently,only weak cavitation bubbles exist in the far liquid region.YING ChongFu BAI LiXin LI Chao DENG JingJun 2011Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,1:3
