| 6 | The Cellular Toxicity of PM_(2.5) Emitted from Coal Combustion in Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells显示文摘Objective To explore the relationship between different components of fine particulate matter(PM_(2.5))emitted from coal combustion and their cytotoxic effect in the vascular endothelial cells.Methods Coal-fired PM_(2.5) was sampled using a fixed-source dilution channel and flow sampler.The sample components were analyzed by ion chromatography and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy(ICP-AES).The PM_(2.5) suspension was extracted using an ultrasonic water-bath method and then human umbilical vein endothelial cells(EA.hy926)were treated with various concentrations of the PM_(2.5) suspension.Cell proliferation,oxidative DNA damage,and global DNA methylation levels were used to measure the cellular toxicity of PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion.Results Compared to other types of coal-fired PM_(2.5) preparations,the PM_(2.5) suspension from Yinchuan coal had the highest cytotoxicity.PM_(2.5) suspension from Datong coal had the highest toxic effect while that from Yinchuan coal had the lowest.Exposure to coal-fired PM_(2.5) from Jingxi coal resulted in lower8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine(8-OHd G)levels.At the same dose,PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion could produce more severe DNA impairment compared to that produced by carbon black.Cell survival rate was negatively correlated with chloride and potassium ions content.The 5-methylcytosine(5-m C)level was positively correlated with Mn and negatively correlated with Zn levels.The 8-OHd G%level was positively correlated with both Mn and Fe.Conclusion PM_(2.5) emitted from coal combustion can decrease cell viability,increase global DNA methylation,and cause oxidative DNA damage in EA.hy926 cells.Metal components may be important factors that influence cellular toxicity. | WANG Fei Fei GENG Chun Mei HAO Wei Dong ZHAO Yong Dong LI Qin WANG Hong Mei QIAN Yan | 2016 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,2: | 5 |

| 13 | Improved magnetic anisotropy of Co-based multilayer film with nitrogen dopant显示文摘Modulating the magnetic anisotropy of ferromagnetic thin films is crucial for constructing high-density and energy efficient magnetic memory devices. Ta/W(N)/Co/Pt multilayers were deposited on silicon substrates by magnetron sputtering at room temperature. The influences of N dopant on the magnetic anisotropy of the multilayers were investigated by preparing the sample with N incorporation. The results indicate that when sputtering W target with only argon gas(Ar), Ta/W/Co/Pt sample shows inplane magnetic anisotropy(IMA). When sputtering W target at a different amount of N_(2) and Ar atmosphere, it can induce perpendicular magnetic anisotropy(PMA) for proper N-doped Ta/W(N)/Co/Pt sample. When the gas flow ratio of Ar:N_(2) is 16:6, the effective magnetic anisotropy constant reach its maximum value of 1.68×10^(5) J·m^(-3),which enhanced by about 400% than our past works(annealing treatment is necessary to induce PMA in Pt/Co/MgO system). X-ray diffraction(XRD) and X-ray reflection(XRR) results demonstrate that N dopants can effectively promote the formation of b-W phase and reduce the roughness of W(N)/Co interface, which are beneficial for PMA. X-ray electron spectroscopy(XPS) analysis reveals that N doping redistributes Co charges, nitrogen ions participate in electron allocation of Co and attract some electrons of Co to form orbital hybridization between Co3 d and N 2 p. | 14 | Hypertension Prevalence,Awareness,Treatment,and Control and Their Associated Socioeconomic Factors in China:A Spatial Analysis of A National Representative Survey显示文摘Objective We aimed to investigate and interpret the associations between socioeconomic factors and the prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension at the provincial level in China.Methods A nationally and provincially representative sample of 179,059 adults from the China Chronic Disease and Nutrition Surveillance study in 2015–2016 was used to estimate hypertension burden. The spatial Durbin error model was fitted to investigate socioeconomic factors associated with hypertension indicators.Results Overall, it was estimated that 29.20% of the participants were hypertensive nationwide,among whom, 34.32% were aware of their condition, 27.69% had received antihypertensive treatment,and 7.81% had controlled their condition. Per capita gross domestic product(GDP) was associated with hypertension prevalence(coefficient:-2.95, 95% CI:-5.46,-0.45) and control(coefficient: 6.35, 95% CI:1.36, 11.34) among adjacent provinces and was also associated with awareness(coefficient: 2.93, 95%CI: 1.12, 4.74) and treatment(coefficient: 2.67, 95% CI: 1.21, 4.14) in local province. Beds of internal medicine(coefficient: 2.66, 95% CI: 1.08, 4.23) was associated with control in local province. Old dependency ratio(coefficient:-3.58, 95% CI:-5.35,-1.81) was associated with treatment among adjacent provinces and with control(coefficient:-1.69, 95% CI:-2.42,-0.96) in local province.Conclusion Hypertension indicators were not only directly influenced by socioeconomic factors of local area but also indirectly affected by characteristics of geographical neighbors.
