5Clinical Characteristics of Children with Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Hubei, China显示文摘Since December 2019,COVID-19 has occurred unexpectedly and emerged as a health problem worldw ide.Despite the rapidly increasing number of cases in subsequent weeks,the clinical characteristics of pediatric cases are rarely described.A cross-sectional multicenter study was carried out in 10 hospitals across Hubei province.A total of 25 confirmed pediatric cases of COVID-19 were collected.The demographic data,epidemiological history,underlying discascs,clinical mani festations,laboratory and radiological data,treatments,and outcomes were analyzcd.Of 25 hospitalized patients with COVID-19,the boy to girl ratio was 1.27:1.The median age was 3 years.COVID-19 cases in children aged<3 years,3-6 years,and≥6-years patients were 10(40%),6(24%),and 9(36%),respectively.The most common symptoms at onset of ilness were fever(13[52%]),and dry cough(11[44%]).Chest CT images showed essential normal in 8 cases(33.3%),unilateral involvement of lungs in 5 cases(20.8%),and bilateral involvement in 11 cases(45.8%).Clinical diagnoses included upper respiratory tract infection(n=8),mild pneumonia(n=15),and critical cases(n=2).Two critical cases(8%)were given invasive mechanical ventilation,corticosteroids,and immunoglobulin.The symptoms in 24(96%)of 25 patients were alleviated and one patient had been discharged.It was concluded that children were susceptible to COVID-19 like adults,while the clinical presentations and outcomes were more favorable in children.However,children less than 3 years old accounted for majority cases and critical cases lied in this age group,which demanded extra attentions during home caring and hospitalization treatment.Fang ZHENG Chun LIAO Qi-hong FAN Hong-bo CHEN Xue-gong ZHAO Zhong-guo XIE Xi-lin LI Chun-xi CHEN Xiao-xia LU Zhi-sheng LIU Wei LU Chun-bao CHEN Rong JIAO Ai-ming ZHANG Jin-tang WANG Xi-wei DING Yao-guang ZENG Li-ping CHENG Qing-feng HUANG Jiang WU Xi-chang LUO Zhu-jun WANG Yan-yan ZHONG Yan BAI Xiao-yan WU Run-ming JIN 2020Current Medical Science2020,40,2:10
6Morphologies of Al_4Sr Intermetallic Phase and Its Modification Property upon A356 Alloys显示文摘In general,the modification performance of Al-Sr master alloys is primarily dependent upon the morphologies and sizes of the Al_4Sr intermetallic phase.In this paper,the crystal structure,morphologies,sizes,hardness and elastic modulus of Al_4Sr in Al-Sr master alloys prepared from variant processes were studied by means of optical metallurgical microscope,X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and nanoindentation system.The results revealed that the microstructures and modification performance of the Al_4Sr phase were related to the preparation processes.That is to say,when a 'direct reaction-hot extrusion' process was used,the Al_4Sr phase exhibited a homogeneous distribution in the Al matrix with small size and roundish shapes,which ensured the Al-Sr master alloy wire advantages involving high recovery,good reproducibility,no delitescence of modification,no corrosion on equipments,and good workability.However,in the case of the traditional 'direct reaction' process,the Al4Sr phase was in large size with shapes of rectangular stripe and plates,which limited the Sr content increasing due to the brittleness of the Al-Sr alloy.It was also found that the morphology and size of the Al_4Sr phases changed during heat treatment at high temperature up to 600 ℃.Chengwei Liao Jianchun Chun Yang Li Rui Tu Chunxu Pan 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,6:7
7Preparation and characterization O-lauroyl chitosan/poly (L-lactic acid) blend membranes by solution-casting approach显示文摘O-Lauroyl chitosan/poly(L-lactide) (OCS/PLLA) blend membranes with different compositions were prepared by solution-casting approach using chloroform as common solvent. The experimental results of FT-IR, DSC and WAXD indicated that inter-association hydrogen-bond interactions existed between OCS and PLLA in the blend membranes. 8Abrogation of Hn RNP L enhances anti-PD-1 therapy efficacy via diminishing PD-L1 and promoting CD8^(+) T cell-mediated ferroptosis in castration-resistant prostate cancer显示文摘Owing to incurable castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)ultimately developing after treating with androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),it is vital to devise new therapeutic strategies to treat CRPC.Treatments that target programmed cell death protein 1(PD-1)and programmed death ligand-1(PD-L1)have been approved for human cancers with clinical benefit.However,many patients,especially prostate cancer,fail to respond to anti-PD-1/PD-L1 treatment,so it is an urgent need to seek a support strategy for improving the traditional PD-1/PD-L1 targeting immunotherapy.In the present study,analyzing the data from our prostate cancer tissue microarray,we found that PD-L1 expression was positively correlated with the expression of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein L(Hn RNP L).Hence,we further investigated the potential role of Hn RNP L on the PD-L1 expression,the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing and the synergistic effect with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC.Indeed,Hn RNP L knockdown effectively decreased PD-L1 expression and recovered the sensitivity of cancer cells to T-cell killing in vitro and in vivo,on the contrary,Hn RNP L overexpression led to the opposite effect in CRPC cells.In addition,consistent with the previous study,we revealed that ferroptosis played a critical role in T-cell-induced cancer cell death,and Hn RNP L promoted the cancer immune escape partly through targeting YY1/PD-L1 axis and inhibiting ferroptosis in CRPC cells.Furthermore,Hn RNP L knockdown enhanced antitumor immunity by recruiting infiltrating CD8^(+)T cells and synergized with anti-PD-1 therapy in CRPC tumors.This study provided biological evidence that Hn RNP L knockdown might be a novel therapeutic agent in PD-L1/PD-1 blockade strategy that enhanced anti-tumor immune response in CRPC.Xumin Zhou Libin Zou Hangyu Liao Junqi Luo Taowei Yang Jun Wu Wenbin Chen Kaihui Wu Shengren Cen Daojun Lv Fangpeng Shu Yu Yang Chun Li Bingkun Li Xiangming Mao 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:4

10Highly dispersed Co-Mo sulfide nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide for lithium and sodium ion storage显示文摘A novel hybrid,highly dispersed spinel Co-Mo sulfide nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide(Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO),is reported as anode for lithium and sodium ion storage.The hybrid is synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method but exhibits excellent lithium and sodium storage performances.The as-synthesized Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO presents reversible capacity of 595.4 mA·h·g^−1 and 408.8 mA·h·g^−1 after 100 cycles at a current density of 0.2 A·g^−1 for lithium and sodium ion storages,respectively.Such superior performances are attributed to the unique composition and structure of Co3S4/CoMo2S4@rGO.The rGO provides a good electronically conductive network and ensures the formation of spinel Co3S4/CoMo2S4 nanoparticles,the Co3S4/CoMo2S4 nanoparticles provide large reaction surface for lithium and sodium intercalation/deintercalation,and the spinel structure allows fast lithium and sodium ion diffusion in three dimensions.Yuqing Liao Chun Wu Yaotang Zhong Min Chen Luyang Cai Huirong Wang Xiang Liu Guozhong Cao Weishan Li 2020Nano Research2020,13,1:4
11Erlotinib versus gemcitabine plus cisplatin as neoadjuvant treatment of stage IIIA-N2 EGFR-mutant non-small-cell lung cancer:final overall survival analysis of the EMERGING-CTONG 1103 randomised phase II trial显示文摘EMERGING-CTONG 1103 showed improved progression-free survival(PFS)with neoadjuvant erlotinib vs.chemotherapy for patients harbouring EGFR sensibility mutations and R0 resected stage IIIA-N2 non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)(NCT01407822).Herein,we report the final results.Recruited patients were randomly allocated 1:1 to the erlotinib group(150 mg/day orally;neoadjuvant phase for 42 days and adjuvant phase to 12 months)or to the GC group(gemcitabine 1250 mg/m2 plus cisplatin 75 mg/m2 intravenously;2 cycles in neoadjuvant phase and 2 cycles in adjuvant phase).Objective response rate(ORR),complete pathologic response(pCR),PFS,and overall survival(OS)were assessed along with safety.Post hoc analysis was performed for subsequent treatments after disease recurrence.Among investigated 72 patients(erlotinib,n=37;GC,n=35),the median follow-up was 62.5 months.The median OS was 42.2 months(erlotinib)and 36.9 months(GC)(hazard ratio[HR],0.83;95%confidence interval[CI],0.47-1.47;p=0.513).The 3-and_(5-y)ear OS rates were 58.6%and 40.8%with erlotinib and 55.9%and 27.6%with GC(p_(3-y)=0.819,p_(5-y)=0.252).Subsequent treatment was administered in 71.9%and 81.8%of patients receiving erlotinib and GC,respectively;targeted therapy contributed mostly to OS(HR,0.35;95%CI,0.18-0.70).After disease progression,the ORR was 53.3%,and the median PFS was 10.9 months during the EGFR-TKI rechallenge.During postoperative therapy,grade 3 or 4 adverse events(AEs)were 13.5%in the erlotinib group and 29.4%in the GC group.No serious adverse events were observed.Erlotinib exhibited clinical feasibility for resectable IIIA-N2 NSCLC over chemotherapy in the neoadjuvant setting.Wen-Zhao Zhong Hong-Hong Yan Ke-Neng Chen Chun Chen Chun-Dong Gu Jun Wang Xue-Ning Yang Wei-Min Mao Qun Wang Gui-Bin Qiao Ying Cheng Lin Xu Chang-Li Wang Ming-Wei Chen Xiao-Zheng Kang Wan-Pu Yan Ri-Qiang Liao Jin-Ji Yang Xu-Chao Zhang Si-Yang Liu Qing Zhou Yi-Long Wu 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,3:4

13Prognostic Factors for Luminal B-like Breast Cancer显示文摘This study aimed to examine the prognostic factors of luminal B-like breast cancer.Clinical data of 695 luminal B-like breast cancer patients who had been treated in our hospital during the period of past 4.5 years were collected and analyzed. Estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PgR), antigen identified by monoclonal antibody Ki-67 (Ki67) were immunohistochemically detected. Different cutoffs of ER, PgR, and Ki67 were evaluated. Pearson X test was performed to compare categorical parameters. Univariate and multivariate models were used to evaluate predictors of disease free survival (DFS). The results showed that patients who were younger, and had larger tumors, and more positive lymph nodes were more likely to receive neo-adjuvent chemotherapy (NAC). Patients with ER-positive tumors having <10% positive cells received more anthracycline- and taxane-based chemotherapy and less endocrine therapy than those with ER-positive tumors having >10% positive cells (P=0.004 and P=0.007, respectively);however, patients with ER-positive tumors having <10% positive cells experienced more recurrence (P<0.001). PgR expression levels were not associated with therapeutic schedule and DFS. Patients with tumor tissue Ki67 score >30% received more anthracycline- and taxane-based chemotherapy and had worse DFS than those with tumor tissue Ki67 score <30%. Univariate and multivariate analysis showed that clinical T stage, lymph nodes, ER, Ki67, and HER2 status were independent prognostic factors. In conclusion, ER-positive rate <10% and Ki67 score >30%, similar to higher clinical T stage, more metastatic lymph nodes, and HER2 positive status, may indicate a worse prognosis for luminal B-like breast cancer patients. 16Homocysteine aggravates cerebral hemorrhage in rats: Correlation with oxygen-free radical production and cell apoptosis in tissue surrounding hematoma显示文摘BACKGROUND:Previous studies have demonstrated that homocysteine is an independent risk factor for ischemic stroke,as determined by detection of apoptosis and oxygen-free radical scavengers following cerebral ischemia.However,the mechanisms of homocysteine remain unclear.Several reports have addressed the effects of homocysteine on ischemic stroke.OBJECTIVE:To analyze the effects of homocysteine on apoptosis,intracellular superoxide dismutase(SOD) activity,and malondialdehyde content in tissue surrounding hematoma in rats with cerebral hemorrhage,and to determine the action pathway of malondialdehyde following cerebral hemorrhage.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING:The randomized,controlled,animal experiment was performed at the Laboratory of Molecular Biology,Hospital Affiliated to Luzhou Medical College,China from April 2007 to April 2008.MATERIALS:In situ apoptosis detection kit(Roche,Mannheim,Germany),SOD detection kit and malondialdehyde detection kit(Nanjing Jiancheng Bioengineering Institute,China),and homocysteine(Sigma,St Louis,MO,USA) were used in the present study.METHODS:A total of 75 Sprague Dawley rats were equally and randomly assigned to sham surgery,model,and homocysteine groups.Autologous blood was infused into the caudate putamen of rats to establish models of cerebral hemorrhage in model and homocysteine groups.Homocysteine was injected directly into the brain through the skull at the hematoma hemisphere at 30 minutes after model induction in the homocysteine group.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES:At 6,12,24,and 72 hours,as well as 1 week,post-surgery,neurological deficits were observed in each group.Brain water content was measured using the dry-wet weight method.Cell apoptosis in tissue surrounding the hematoma was detected utilizing terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL).SOD activity and malondialdehyde content in tissue surrounding the hematoma were respectively measured using the xanthine oxidase and thiobarbituric acid methods.RESULTS:Neurological function was similar between model and homocysteine groups following cerebral hemorrhage(P > 0.05).Brain water content was increased at 12 hours post-surgery,peaked at 3 days,and remained unchanged at 7 days in the model group.Brain edema was not significantly aggravated following homocysteine intervention(P > 0.05),but SOD activity significantly decreased and malondialdehyde content significantly increased(P < 0.05).The number of apoptotic cells increased in rats with cerebral hemorrhage at 12 hours(P < 0.05),and numbers peaked at 72 hours following model establishment(P < 0.05).The time of peak value was identical between model and homocysteine groups.Brain water content was negatively associated with SOD activity(rmodel group =-0.448,P < 0.05;rhomocysteine group =-0.612,P < 0.05),but was positively associated with malondialdehyde content(rmodel group = 0.542,P < 0.05;rhomocysteine group = 0.684,P < 0.05) in brain tissues surrounding the hematoma following surgery in model and homocysteine groups.CONCLUSION:Homocysteine aggravates neurological dysfunction and brain edema in rats with cerebral hemorrhage.The mechanisms of action are likely associated with production of oxygen-free radical and cellular apoptosis following cerebral hemorrhage.Yingying Liu Xinjun Li Chun Wang Chun Chen Ping Liu Qin Feng Duanxiu Liao Xiaogang Li 2010Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,13:3
17Investigation of PM_(2.5) pollution during COVID-19 pandemic in Guangzhou,China显示文摘The COVID-19 pandemic has raised awareness about various environmental issues,includ-ing PM_(2.5) pollution.Here,PM_(2.5) pollution during the COVID-19 lockdown was traced and an-alyzed to clarify the sources and factors influencing PM_(2.5) in Guangzhou,with an emphasis on heavy pollution.The lockdown led to large reductions in industrial and traffic emissions,which significantly reduced PM_(2.5) concentrations in Guangzhou.Interestingly,the trend of PM_(2.5) concentrations was not consistent with traffic and industrial emissions,as minimum concentrations were observed in the fourth period(3/01-3/31,22.45 μg/m^(3))of the lockdown.However,the concentrations of other gaseous pollutants,e.g.,SO_(2),NO_(2) and CO,were corre-lated with industrial and traffic emissions,and the lowest values were noticed in the sec-ond period(1/24-2/0_(3))of the lockdown.Meteorological correlation analysis revealed that the decreased PM_(2.5) concentrations during COVID-19 can be mainly attributed to decreased in-dustrial and traffic emissions rather than meteorological conditions.When meteorological factors were included in the PM_(2.5) composition and backward trajectory analyses,we found that long-distance transportation and secondary pollution offset the reduction of primary emissions in the second and third stages of the pandemic.Notably,industrial PM_(2.5) emis-sions from western,southern and southeastern Guangzhou play an important role in the formation of heavy pollution events.Our results not only verify the importance of control-ling traffic and industrial emissions,but also provide targets for further improvements in PM_(2.5) pollution.Luyao Wen Chun Yang Xiaoliang Liao Yanhao Zhang Xuyang Chai Wenjun Gao Shulin Guo Yinglei Bi Suk-Ying Tsang Zhi-Feng Chen Zenghua Qi Zongwei Cai 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5:2
18Performance Evaluation of Memory-Centric ARMv8 Many-Core Architectures:A Case Study with Phytium 2000+显示文摘This article presents a comprehensive performance evaluation of Phytium 2000+,an ARMv8-based 64-core architecture.We focus on the cache and memory subsystems,analyzing the characteristics that impact the high-performance computing applications.We provide insights into the memory-relevant performance behaviours of the Phytium 2000+system through micro-benchmarking.With the help of the well-known roofline model,we analyze the Phytium 2000+system,taking both memory accesses and computations into account.Based on the knowledge gained from these micro-benchmarks,we evaluate two applications and use them to assess the capabilities of the Phytium 2000+system.The results show that the ARMv8-based many-core system is capable of delivering high performance for a wide range of scientific kernels.Jian-Bin Fang Xiang-Ke Liao Chun Huang De-Zun Dong 2021Journal of Computer Science & Technology2021,36,1:2
