3A cell wall-localized NLR confers resistance to Soybean mosaic virus by recognizing viral-encoded cylindrical inclusion protein.显示文摘Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) causes severe yield losses and seed quality reduction in soybean (Glycine max) production worldwide. Rsc4 from cultivar Dabaima is a dominant genetic locus for SMV resistance, and its mapping interval contains three Nucleotide-binding domain Leucine-rich Repeat containing (NLR) candidates (Rsc4-1, Rsc4-2, and Rsc4-3). The NLR-type resistant proteins were considered as important intracellular pathogen sensors in the previous studies. In this research, based on transient expression assay in Nicotiana benthamiana leaves, we found that the longest transcript of Rsc4-3 is sufficient to induce resistance response to SMV;and CRISPR/Cas9-mediated Rsc4-3 knockout in resistant cultivar Dabaima compromised the resistance. These indicate that Rsc4-3 confers resistance to SMV. Interestingly, Rsc4-3 encodes a cell wall localized NLR-type resistant protein (Rsc4-3). The internal polypeptide region responsible for apoplastic targeting of Rsc4-3 and the putative palmitoylation sites on the N-terminus are essential for the resistance response. Furthermore, we showed that viral-encoded cylindrical inclusion (CI) protein partially localizes to the cell wall and can interact with Rsc4-3. Virus-driven or transient expression of CI protein of avirulent SMV strains is enough to induce resistance response in the presence of Rsc4-3, suggesting that CI is the avirulent gene for Rsc4-3 mediated resistance. 5Temporal and spatial variations of net primary productivity and its response to groundwater of a typical oasis in the Tarim Basin, China显示文摘Net primary productivity (NPP) of the vegetation in an oasis can reflect the productivity capacity of a plant community under natural environmental conditions. Owing to the extreme arid climate conditions and scarce precipitation in the arid oasis regions, groundwater plays a key role in restricting the development of the vegetation. The Qira Oasis is located on the southern margin of the Taklimakan Desert (Tarim Basin, China) that is one of the most vulnerable regions regarding vegetation growth and water scarcity in the world. Based on remote sensing images of the Qira Oasis and daily meteorological data measured by the ground stations during the period 2006-2019, this study analyzed the temporal and spatial patterns of NPP in the oasis as well as its relation with the variation of groundwater depth using a modified Carnegie Ames Stanford Approach (CASA) model. At the spatial scale, NPP of the vegetation decreased from the interior of the Qira Oasis to the margin;at the temporal scale, NPP of the vegetation in the oasis fluctuated significantly (ranging from 29.80 to 50.07 g C/(m2•month)) but generally showed an increasing trend, with the average increase rate of 0.07 g C/(m2•month). The regions with decreasing NPP occupied 64% of the total area of the oasis. During the study period, NPP of both farmland and grassland showed an increasing trend, while that of forest showed a decreasing trend. The depth of groundwater was deep in the south of the oasis and shallow in the north, showing a gradual increasing trend from south to north. Groundwater, as one of the key factors in the surface change and evolution of the arid oasis, determines the succession direction of the vegetation in the Qira Oasis. With the increase of groundwater depth, grassland coverage and vegetation NPP decreased. During the period 2008-2015, with the recovery of groundwater level, NPP values of all types of vegetation with different coverages increased. 7Definition of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake in Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, China显示文摘Since the Quaternary, many lakes have been present in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. As peculiar geological processes in the evolution of the uplifting of Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the distributions and evolutions of the Quaternary paleolakes in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been the focus of interest among the international geosciences circle. Comparisons of the newly obtained and existing data from field surveys, remote sensing images, characteristics of tectonic landforms and distribution of the lacustrine strata, the author have, for the first time, defined a large-sized Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake. The paleolake starts from the east-westerly direction at Rutog in western Tibet, passing through Gêrzê, and finally ends at Nagqu in eastern Tibet. Its length is approximately 1,200 km; it is about 420 km at its widest point (north-southerly). The Paleolake forms an E-W (or NWW) ellipsoid with an estimated area of 354920 km2 . The Paleolake is bordered by the Mts. Gangdisê and Nyainqêntanglha to the south and the Karakorum Pass-Tozê Kangri-Zangbagangri-Tanggula Pass to the north. It generally appears as a basinal landform with low mountains and valleys in the central part (altitudes of 4400 m) and higher altitudes (5000 m) in the peripheries. The formation and development of the Paleolake was controlled by the nearly E-W trending structures. There are three east-westerly extending tectonic sutures inside the Paleolake area, from north to south: (1) the Shuanghu Suture; (2) the Bangong Co-Nujiang River Suture; (3) the Shiquanhe-Lhari Suture. These three sutures have generally controlled the spreading features of the Paleolake and act as the first grade lake-controlling structures. In the southern Paleolake basin, there are a series of south-northerly rift basins, which are controlled by the normal faults and exist as a series of south-northerly grabens and semi-graben faulted basins. The south-northerly rift zones have clearly exerted control over the south margin of the Paleolake as well as the distribution of the residual lake basins after the Paleolake's break up. They are the secondary lake-controlling tectonics. Discoveries of the lacustrine strata inside the Plateau, especially the successive discoveries of many high-stand lacustrine strata, are direct evidence supporting the existence of the paleolakes in the Plateau. The dating results of the lake-eroded travertine in the Dong Co in the hinterland of the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake have revealed that the lake-eroded travertine is of Late Pleistocene sediments. By considering the analysis of the lacustrine strata as well, the researchers have revealed that the Quaternary Qiangtang Paleolake begins its embryonic form in the Early Pleistocene, successively develops till the Middle Pleistocene, and reaches its full blossom in the middle stage of the Late Pleistocene; it further shrinks and separates by the end of the Late Pleistocene, and finally ceases its whole life as the paleolake. After the Holocene, the huge Late Pleistocene Qiangtang Paleolake no longer exists, leaving a series of widely distributed smaller lakes on the Qiangtang Plateau. 8Caterpillar-like 3D graphene nanoscrolls@CNTs hybrids decorated with Co-doped MoSe_(2)nanosheets for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution显示文摘Hydrogen is a clean and flexible energy carrier that has the promising to satisfy urgent demands of the energy crisis and environmental protection.Electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),a critical half-reaction in water splitting,is one of the greenest and most common methods to obtain high-purity hydrogen.Designing preeminent activity and stability electrocatalysts for hydrogen precipitation reac-tion(HER)to reduce energy consumption is of great essential.3D carbon-based materials have attracted widespread concern as the potential scaffolds of highly active and durable electrocatalysts for HER.To boost the HER activity and prolong the lifespan of electrocatalysts,multifarious 3D carbon architectures make an appearance to be engineered for accelerating electronic/mass transfer and maximizing the expo-sure of active sites.Herein,we designed and fabricated high-performance electrocatalysts based on a spe-cial caterpillar-like 3D graphene nanoscrolls@CNTs(GNS@CNTs)scaffold decorated with Co-doped MoSe_(2)nanosheets for HER.In the caterpillar-like hierarchical structure,CNTs were seamlessly co-bonded and dilated the interlayer and outer spacing of GNS through CVD growth technology,and nickel nanoparticles were covered by the CNTs tips.Taking advantage of the plentiful hierarchical pore,larger specific surface area,and higher chemical stability of the caterpillar-like structure,the catalysts exhibited enhanced elec-trocatalytic properties than some existing data reported.Density functional theory calculations showed that the encapsulated nickel nanoparticle could tune the electronic structure of the outer anchored Co-doped MoSe_(2)and optimize itsG of H∗adsorption by electron traversing effect and doping effect.These indicate that caterpillar-like GNS@CNT is an ideal scaffold f or anchoring actives substance and is suit-able for high-efficient HER.This study provides new insights for designing hierarchical carbon composite nanostructures for catalysts,sensors,energy materials,and other applications.Hao Luo Hongfei Gao Xudong Zhang Fan Yang Chen Liu Kewei Xu Dagang Guo 2023Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,5:1

10Genesis and significance of quartz cement in sandstones显示文摘Quartz cement as syntaxial overgrowths is one of the most abundant cements in sandstones. Distribution of quartz cement in time and space indicates that the more younger the stratigraphy is, the more smaller the amount of quartz cement, and the amount of quartz cement increases with increasing of depth and basin type also is a factor which controls the amount of quartz cement. The sources of silica for quartz cement have many different opinions, but there is one or more dominant sources. Temperature and pH of fluid are major factors which influence the precipitation of quartz cement. There exist three hypotheses on the flow of pore fluid and transport and precipitation of silica, that is, the hypothesis of cycle of shallow underground water, the hypothesis of high concentration of fluid driven by compaction and the hypothesis of diffusion and recycle of local fluid. 13The soybean GmPUB21-interacting protein GmDi19-5 responds to drought and salinity stresses via an ABA-dependent pathway显示文摘Drought-induced protein 19(Di19) is a Cys2/His2 zinc-finger protein that functions in plant growth and development and in tolerance to abiotic stresses.Gm PUB21,an E3 ubiquitin ligase,negatively regulates drought and salinity response in soybean.We identified potential interaction target proteins of Gm PUB21by yeast two-hybrid c DNA library screening,Gm Di19-5 as a candidate.Bimolecular fluorescence complementation and glutathionine-S-transferase pull-down assays confirmed the interaction between Gm Di19-5 and Gm PUB21.Gm Di19-5 was induced by Na Cl,drought,and abscisic acid(ABA) treatments.Gm Di19-5 was expressed in the cytoplasm and nucleus.Gm Di19-5 overexpression conferred hypersensitivity to drought and high salinity,whereas Gm Di19-5 silencing increased drought and salinity tolerance.Transcripts of ABA-and stress response-associated genes including Gm RAB18 and Gm DREB2A were downregulated in Gm Di19-5-overexpressing plants under drought and salinity stresses.ABA decreased the protein level of Gm Di19-5 in vivo,whereas Gm PUB21 increased the decrease of Gm Di19-5 after exogenous ABA application.The accumulation of Gm PUB21 was also inhibited by Gm Di19-5.We conclude that Gm PUB21 and Gm Di19-5 collaborate to regulate drought and salinity tolerance via an ABA-dependent pathway.Yunhua Yang Rui Ren Adhimoolam Karthikeyan Jinlong Yin Tongtong Jin Fei Fang Han Cai Mengzhuo Liu Dagang Wang Haijian Zhi Kai Li 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,4:0
