1Design of Irregular QC-LDPC Code Based Multi-Level Coded Modulation Scheme for High Speed Optical Communication Systems显示文摘In this paper, we focus on the design of irregular QC-LDPC code based multi-level coded modulation(MLCM) scheme by jointly optimizing the component code rate and the degree distribution of the irregular QC-LDPC component code. Firstly, the sub-channel capacities of MLCM systems is analyzed and discussed, based on which the optimal component code rate can be obtained. Secondly, an extrinsic information transfer chart based two-stage searching algorithm is proposed to find the good irregular QC-LDPC code ensembles with optimal component code rates for their corresponding sub-channels. Finally, by constructing the irregular QC-LDPC component codes from the designed ensembles with the aim of possibly enlarging the girth and reducing the number of the shortest cycles, the designed irregular QC-LDPC code based 16QAM and 64QAM MLCM systems can achieve 0.4 dB and 1.2 dB net coding gain, respectively, compared with the recently proposed regular QC-LDPC code based 16QAM and 64QAM MLCM systems.Liqian Wang Dongdong Wang Yongjing Ni Xue Chen Midou Cui Fu Yang 2019China Communications2019,16,5:7
2Proteomics provides individualized options of precision medicine for patients with gastric cancer显示文摘While precision medicine driven by genome sequencing has revolutionized cancer care,such as lung cancer,its impact on gastric cancer(GC)has been minimal.GC patients are routinely treated with chemotherapy,but only a fraction of them receive the clinical benefit.There is an urgent need to develop biomarkers or algorithms to select chemo-sensitive patients or apply targeted therapy.Here,we carried out retrospective analyses of 1,020 formalin-fixed,paraffin-embedded GC surgical resection samples from 5 hospitals and developed a mass spectrometry-based workflow for proteomic subtyping of GC.We identified two proteomic subtypes:the chemo-sensitive group(CSG)and the chemo-insensitive group(CIG)in the discovery set.The 5-year overall survival of CSG was significantly improved in patients who had received adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery compared with those who received surgery only(64.2%vs.49.6%;Cox P-value=0.002),whereas no such improvement was observed in CIG(50.0%vs.58.6%;Cox P-value=0.495).We validated these results in an independent validation set.Further,differential proteome analysis uncovered 9 FDA-approved drugs that may be applicable for targeted therapy of GC.A prospective study is warranted to test these findings for future GC patient care.Wenwen Huang Dongdong Zhan Yazhuo Li Nairen Zheng Xin Wei Bin Bai Kecheng Zhang Mingwei Liu Xuefei Zhao Xiaotian Ni Xia Xia Jinwen Shi Cheng Zhang Zhihao Lu Jiafu Ji Juan Wang Shiqi Wang Gang Ji Jipeng Li Yongzhan Nie Wenquan Liang Xiaosong Wu Jianxin Cui Yongsheng Meng Feilin Cao Tieliu Shi Weimin Zhu Yi Wang Lin Chen Qingchuan Zhao Hongwei Wang Lin Shen Jun Qin 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,8:3

6Calculations of β-decay half-lives of proton-rich nuclei显示文摘We investigate the half-lives of β + /EC(electron capture) decay using the proton-neutron quasiparticle random-phase approximation(pnQRPA) with a δ-form Gamow-Teller residual interaction.Both particle-hole and particle-particle residual interactions are consistently introduced in dealing with the pnQRPA matrix equation.The sensitivity of the calculated half-lives to some physical quantities used in the calculations is examined.Calculations are performed for even-even neutron-deficient isotopes ranging from Z = 10 to Z = 76.Good agreement between experiment and theory is achieved especially for the nuclei far from stability,and the results of our calculations are discussed with comparison with other theoretical results.Predictions on the β-decay half-lives of some very neutron-deficient nuclei are also given for reference in future experiments.NI DongDong REN ZhongZhou ZHI QiJun 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,12:1
7Long-lived lunar volcanism sustained by precession-driven core-mantle friction显示文摘Core-mantle friction induced by the precession of the Moon's spin axis is a strong heat source in the deep lunar mantle during the early phase of a satellite's evolution,but its influence on the long-term thermal evolution still remains poorly explored.Using a one-dimensional thermal evolution model,we show that core-mantle friction can sustain global-scale partial melting in the upper lunar mantle until∼3.1 Ga,thus accounting for the intense volcanic activity on the Moon before∼3.0 Ga.Besides,core-mantle friction tends to suppress the secular cooling of the lunar core and is unlikely to be an energy source for the long-lived lunar core dynamo.Our model also favours the transition of the Cassini state before the end of the lunar magma ocean phase(∼4.2 Ga),which implies a decreasing lunar obliquity over time after the solidification of the lunar magma ocean.Such a trend of lunar obliquity evolution may allow volcanically released water to be buried in the lunar regolith of the polar regions.As a consequence,local water ice could be more abundant than previously thought when considering only its accumulation caused by solar wind and comet spreading.Shuoran Yu Xiao Xiao Shengxia Gong Nicola Tosi Jun Huang Doris Breuer Long Xiao Dongdong Ni 2024National Science Review2024,11,2:0
8Research on two-proton radioactivity in density-dependent cluster model显示文摘The density-dependent cluster model(DDCM) provides a unified framework to study α decay,heavy-cluster radioactivity,and proton emission.Two-proton(2p) radioactivity is a rare decay mode of exotic nuclei near or beyond the drip-line.It is of great interest to explore the applicability of DDCM to this exotic decay mode.In this work,DDCM has been extended to study 2p radioactivity.The 2p-radioactivity half-lives are calculated for several known 2p-emitters,including19Mg,45Fe,48Ni,54Zn,and67Kr.The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental data,with the standard deviations comparable to or smaller than those given by some other theoretical models and empirical formulas.We also predict the half-lives of a number of possible 2p-emitters with S2p<0 and Sp> 0 using the new data from AME2020 and NUBASE2020.These predictions serve as useful references for future experimental and theoretical investigations on 2p radioactivity.Ziyi Yuan Dong Bai Zhen Wang Zhongzhou Ren Dongdong Ni 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,2:0
9Serpentinisation is Required for the Magnetization of the Martian Crust显示文摘The remnant magnetism in the crust of Martian southern highland is associated with the magnetic sources at an average depth of~32 km.In this work,we investigate the magnetization of Martian crust via 1-D parameterized model for the stagnant-lid mantle convection.According to our model,the magnetization of Martian crust is likely to take place in the top-down manner during 4.1-3.7 Ga.To reproduce the average depth of magnetic sources below the southern highland,magnetite and Mg-ferrite are anticipated to be the magnetic carriers in the Martian crust,implying the serpentinisation therein.If magnetite is the only magnetic carrier in the Martian crust,the early climate must be warm enough to maintain a surface temperature of 300 K during 4.1-3.7 Ga at least.Such a warm climate is more likely to be a regional phenomenon associated with the serpentinisation in the crust of the southern highland or the hot ejecta of Borialis impact depositing on the southern hemisphere.Shuoran Yu Dongdong Ni 2023Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2023,23,6:0
10Signature of helium rain and dilute cores in Jupiter’s interior from empirical equations of state显示文摘Measurements of Jupiter’s gravity field by Juno have been acquired with unprecedented precision, but uncertainties in the planet’s hydrogen–helium equation of state(EOS) and the hydrogen–helium phase separation have meant that differences remain in the interior model predictions. We deduce an empirical EOS from Juno gravity field observations in terms of the hydrostatic equation and then investigate the structure and composition of Jupiter by comparison of the empirical EOS with Jupiter’s adiabats obtained from the physical EOS. The deduced helium mass fraction suggests depletion of helium in the outermost atmosphere and helium concentration in the inner molecular hydrogen region, which is a signature of helium rain in Jupiter’s interior. The deduced envelope metallicity(the heavy-element mass fraction) is as high in the innermost envelope as 11–13 times the solar value. Such a high metallicity provides sharp support to the dilute core model with the heavy elements dissolved in hydrogen and expanded outward. No matter how the core mass is varied, the empirical EOS derived from the two-layer interior model generally suggests higher densities in the innermost envelope than does the best-fit Jupiter’s adiabat;this result is, again, a signature of dilute cores in Jupiter’s interior. Moreover, no matter the core mass,the empirical EOS is found to exhibit an inflexion point in the deep interior, around 10 Mbar, which can be explained as the combined effect of helium concentration in the upper part and dilute cores in the lower part.DongDong Ni 2020Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,2:0
