1Schistosoma japonicum infection induces macrophage polarization显示文摘The role of macrophages(Mφ)as the first line of host defense is well accepted.These cells play a central role in orchestrating crucial functions during schistosomal infection.Thus,understanding the functional diversity of these cells in the process of infection as well as the mechanisms underlying these events is crucial for developing disease control strategies.In this study,we adopted a Mφpolarization recognition system.Ml macrophage was characterized by expressing CD16/32,IL-12 and iNOS.M2 macrophage was characterized by expressing CD206,IL-10 and arg-1.In vivo(mouse peritoneal macrophages of different infection stages were obtained)and in vitro(different 5.japonicum antigens were used to stimulate RAW264.7)were characterized by using the above mentioned system.NCA and ACA stimulated RAW264.7 express significantly higher levels of IL-12 while significantly higher levels of IL-10 were detected after soluble egg antigen(SEA)stimulation.The results showed that dramatic changes of antigen in the microenvironment before and after egg production led to macrophage polarization.Furthermore,through TLR blocking experiments,the TLR4 signaling pathway was found to play a role in the process of macrophage polarization toward Ml.Our data suggest that macrophage polarization during S.japonicum infection had significant effects on host immune responses to S.japonicum.Jingwei Xu Hao Zhang Lin Chen Donghui Zhang Minjun Ji Haiwei Wu Guanling Wu 2014The Journal of Biomedical Research2014,28,4:20
2Removal of sulfamethazine antibiotics by aerobic sludge and an isolated Achromobacter sp.S-3显示文摘Removal characteristics of sulfamethazine(SMZ) by sludge and a bacterial strain using an aerobic sequence batch reactor(ASBR) were studied.Operating conditions were optimized by varying the reaction time and sludge retention time(SRT).An Achromobacter sp.(S-3) with the ability to remove SMZ was isolated from the ASBR.The effects of different operating parameters(pH and temperature) on the biodegradation of SMZ by S-3 were determined.The results indicate that,between 0.5 and 4 hr,reaction time of the ASBR had a significant effect on the SMZ removal efficiency in the system.The SMZ removal efficiency also increased from 45% to 80% when SRT was prolonged from 5 to 25 days,although longer SRT had no impact on SMZ removal.The SMZ adsorption rate decreased with increasing temperature,which fitted Freundlich isotherm well.The removal of SMZ in the ASBR was due to the combined effects of adsorption and degradation,and degradation played a leading role.Manhong Huang Shixuan Tian Donghui Chen Wei Zhang Jun Wu Liang Chen 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9:12
3Deformation analysis of the flexspline of harmonic drive gears considering the driving speed effect using laser sensors显示文摘Accurate description of the elastic deformation of the flexsphne is the foundation for optimization design of the structure and conjugate profiles of the harmonic drive gear.This paper proposed an experimental method to investigate the effect of the driving speed on the deformation characteristics of the flexspline.First,an experimental apparatus that integrates a special-fabricated micro-displacement platform and a pair of laser displacement sensors is developed,and the radial displacement of the flexsphne is measured in vertical and horizontal directions.Next,the deformation analyses of the flexsphne at different driving speeds are performed with our method and the conventional method,and the comparison results reveal that the radial displacement of the flexsphne is actually composed of both harmonic and random components,and the amplitude decreases and tends to zero with the increase of the driving speed,especially near the closed end of the flexsphne.Last,the mechanisms of the inherent multi-frequency and amplitude attenuation characteristics of the radial displacement of the flexsphne are discussed.It is indicated that the impact and friction existing in the flexible bearing of the wave generator is likely responsible for the existence of the random component,and the assumption of linear distribution of the flexsphne deformation along the rotating axis is invalid under high speed condition.Our research promotes the further study on the contact-impact problem of the flexible bearing of the wave generator and the transfer characteristic of the elastic deformation of the flexsphne.MA DongHui WU JiaNing LIU Tao YAN ShaoZe 2017Science China(Technological Sciences)2017,60,8:8
4Co-occurrence Patterns of Above-ground and Below-ground Mite Communities in Farmland of Sanjiang Plain, Northeast China显示文摘One of the fundamental questions in community ecology is whether communities are random or formed by deterministic mechanisms. Although many efforts have been made to verify non-randomness in community structure, little is known with regard to co-occurrence patterns in above-ground and below-ground communities. In this paper, we used a null model to test non-randomness in the structure of the above-ground and below-ground mite communities in farmland of the Sanjiang Plain, Northeast China. Then, we used four tests for non-randomness to recognize species pairs that would be demonstrated as significantly aggregated or segregated co-occurrences of the above-ground and below-ground mite communities. The co-occurrence pattern of the above-ground mite community was significantly non-random in October, suggesting species segregation and hence interspecific competition. Additionally, species co-occurrence patterns did not differ from randomness in the above-ground mite community in August or in below-ground mite communities in August and October. Only one significant species pair was detected in the above-ground mite community in August, while no significant species pairs were recognized in the above-ground mite community in October or in the below-ground mite communities in August and October. 5A method for detection and quantification of meshing characteristics of harmonic drive gears using computer vision显示文摘A lack of accurate description of the meshing characteristics and the corresponding frictional mechanism of the harmonic drive gear has limited progress toward modeling the hysteresis stiffness. This paper presents a method for detection and quantification of the meshing characteristics of the harmonic drive gear based on computer vision. First, an experimental set-up that integrates a high speed camera system with a lighting system is developed, and the image processing is adopted to extract and polish the tooth profiles of the meshed teeth pairs in each acquired video sequence. Next, a physical-mathematical model is established to determine the relative positions of the selected tooth pair in the process of the gear engagement, and the combined standard uncertainty is utilized to evaluate the accuracy of the calculated kinematics parameters. Last, the kinematics analysis of the gear engagement under the ultra-low speed condition is performed with our method and previous method, and the influence of the input rotational speed on the results is examined. The results validate the effectiveness of our method, and indicate that the conventional method is not available in the future friction analysis. It is also shown that the engaging-in phase is approximately a uniform motion process, the engaging-out phase is a variable motion process, and these characteristics remain unchanged with the variation of the input rotational speed. 6Electrical transport properties of Fe Se single crystal under high magnetic field显示文摘Understanding the normal electronic state is crucial for unveiling the mechanism of unconventional superconductivity(SC). In this paper, by applying a magnetic field of up to 37T on FeSe single crystals, we could reveal the normal-state transport properties after SC was completely suppressed. The normal-state resistivity exhibited a Fermi liquid behavior at low temperatures. Large orbital magnetoresistance(MR) was observed in the nematic state with H//c, whereas MR was negligible with H//ab. The magnitude of the orbital MR showed an unusual reduction, and Kohler’s rule was severely violated below 10-25 K;these were attributable to spin fluctuations. 7Gamma-ray attenuation technique for measuring void fraction in horizontal gas-liquid two-phase flow显示文摘The measurement of void fraction is of importance to the oil industry and chemical industry. In this article, the principle and mathematical method of determining the void fraction of horizontal gas-liquid flow by using a sin- gle-energy γ-ray system is described. The γ-ray source is the radioactive isotope of 241Am with γ-ray energy of 59.5 keV. The time-averaged value of the void fraction in a 50.0-mm i.d. transparent horizontal pipeline is measured under various combinations of the liquid flow and gas flow. It is found that increasing the gas flow rate at a fixed liquid flow rate would increase the void fraction. Test data are compared with the predictions of the correlations and a good agreement is found. 8Experimental study on dynamic elastic parameters of coal samples显示文摘Dynamic elastic parameters of coal are closely linked to crack characteristics and are lithology indicators in seismic exploration. This experimental study measured ultrasonic wave velocity of coal samples considering both parallel(90°) and perpendicular(0°) to bedding planes, and then calculated the dynamic elastic parameters(Edand ld) and their anisotropy values(AEdand Ald). The variations of Edand ld,as well as AEdand Aldwere analyzed under various confining stresses. The results show that: Firstly, a critical confining pressure exists, and significant variation in the parameters can be seen below this point and weak variation appears above it. Secondly, a positive correlation exists between Edand the square of P-wave velocity(VP2), and between AEdand the P-wave velocity anisotropy(AEP) as well; however, there is no clear correlation between ldand P-wave velocity(VP). Thirdly, according to the major controlling factors of anisotropy, the coal samples with different Edand ldas well as AEdand Aldcan be divided into two types: one is mainly controlled by bedding and cracks and the other one is mainly controlled by differences of mineral compositions in directions. 10Factors that affect the assembly of ground-dwelling beetles at small scales in primary mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forests in north-east China显示文摘Disentangling the relative roles of environmental and spatial processes in community assembly is a major task of community ecology.It is necessary to uncover this question at multiple spatial scales;however,the relative importance of spatial and environmental processes on ground-dwelling beetle assembly at a small scale is still unclear.Based on two permanent plots(each 300 m)located in primary mixed broadleaved-Korean pine forests,the topographic,soil,and plant factors were collected,and the spatial variables(MEMs,distancebased Moran’s eigenvector maps)were calculated.A redundancy analysis(RDA)was used to evaluate the influence of topographic,soil,and plant variables on ground-dwelling beetle compositions.A variation partitioning analysis was used to quantify the relative contributions of environmental and spatial processes on the assembly of ground-dwelling beetles.The results of the RDA reported that the soil,plant,and topographic variables affected Staphylinidae and Silphidae beetle compositions in both plots.According to the results of variation partitioning,pure soil and plant variables were important for the assembly of Silphidae beetles in the LS plot.The contributions of pure topographic,soil,and plant variables were significantly lower than those of pure spatial variables.The contributions of pure spatial variables were significant for the assembly of Staphylinidae and Silphidae beetles in both plots.In addition,the relative importance of environmental and spatial processes was not significantly changed after including more environmental variables and the unexplained variations.Finally,this study suggests that both spatial and environmental variables are important for the assembly of ground-dwelling beetle communities,while pure spatial variables are more important than pure environmental variables at a small scale(300 m).Meixiang Gao Zhihong Qiao Hongyu Hou Guangze Jin Donghui Wu 2020Soil Ecology Letters2020,2,1:3
11Improved dispersion performance and interfacial compatibility of covalent-grafted MOFs in mixed-matrix membranes for gas separation显示文摘Mixed-matrix membranes(MMMs)have received much attention due to their processable advantages of polymer and high permeability and/or selectivity of porous metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)fillers.However,the interfacial defects caused by poor interaction between MOFs with polymers and the agglomeration phenomenon caused by uneven dispersion of MOFs are common problems in mixed-matrix membranes.Currently,the priming protocol is one of solutions to the above problems,but it cannot precisely regulate the dispersion of particles and the interfacial compatibility between two phases.Herein,covalent grafting of polyimide 6FDA-Durene onto the surface of UiO-66-NH2 can mitigate the aggregation of fillers inside the polymeric matrices and improve the interfacial interaction between two phases,thus significantly improving the CO_(2)/CH_(4)separation performance on the as-synthesized MMMs.The explored gas transport mechanism indicated that the improved separation was due to the raise of solubility selectivity.Furthermore,the stronger covalent bond between fillers and polyimide than physical interaction of priming protocol also endows the improved anti-plasticization phenomenon for CO_(2)/CH_(4)separation.Chongqing Wang Guangjie Ren Kaifeng Wei Donghui Liu Tingting Wu Jinlong Jiang Junfeng Qian Yichang Pan 2021Green Chemical Engineering2021,2,1:3
12Preparation and flexural properties of biomimetic laminated boards made from starch and maize stalk fiber显示文摘In this study,maize stalk tegument separated from the maize pith was crushed to obtain the fiber.The cross-linking maize starch adhesives considering four main factors(water content,gelatinization temperature,NaOH as gelatinization agent and Na2B4O7·10H2O as cross-linking agent)with three levels were prepared based on an orthogonal test scheme L9(34)in order to increase the water-resisting property and the bonding strength of the common maize starch adhesives.The bonding properties of maize starch adhesives were characterized using shearing strength under compression loading.Physical models of fiber reinforced composites were established according to the microstructure analysis of the four species of insects’elytra including Protaetia orentalis,Copris ochus Motschulsky,Anoplophora chinensis and Cytister bengalensis Aube,which will provide the biomimetic models for the biomimetic laminated boards.The maize stalk fiber biomimetic laminated boards were prepared based on the structural models of the elytra material.The flexural strength and flexural elastic modulus of the biomimetic boards were examined.The results showed that the flexural strengths of the single layer jute fiber,-reinforced maize stalk fiber boards and the dual layer jute fiber reinforced maize stalk fiber boards are higher than those of the common maize stalk fiber boards and the other three groups of jute fiber hybrid reinforced stalk fiber boards because of the biomimetic laminated design.Zhang Fu Wu Na Tong Jin Zhou Jiang Yang Xin Ma Yunhai Chen Donghui Sun Jiyu 2009International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2009,2,2:3

15IFN-inducible p47 GTPases display differential responses to Schistosoma japonicum acute infection显示文摘Interferon gamma induced GTPase(IGTP)(also named lrgm3)and interferon gamma inducible protein 47(IRG-47)(also named lIrgd)are interferon(IFN)-inducible p47 GTPases that have been shown to regulate host resistance to intracellular pathogens.Little knowledge has been known about the role of p47 GTPases in host responses against extracellular pathogens.To investigate possible roles of IGTP and IRG-47 in the course of Schistosoma japonicum infection,IGTP and IRG-47 knockout and wild-type(WT)mice were challenged with cercariae of S.japonicum,and host responses were analyzed.At the acute stage of S.japonicum infection,mice that lacked IGTP displayed similar parasite burden and pathological damage to WT mice.Importantly,S.japonicum-infected lRG-47-deficient mice,in contrast to IGTP-deficient mice and WT mice,showed significantly reduced worms and lower egg-burden,but intense granulomatous reaction evoked by schistosome eggs in peripheral parts of liver lobes.In addition,upregulation of inflammation-related gene expression was observed in the spleen of IRG-47-deficient mice using oligonucleotide microarrays,in which multiple pathways of cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction,T-cell receptor signaling,complement,coagulation cascades and cell adhesion molecules were highlighted.Taken together,these data suggest that IGTP and IRG-47 might have distinct features that were differentially required for resistance to S.japonicum.Xuesong Chen Xiaotang Du Meijuan Zhang Donghui Zhang Minjun Ji Guanling Wu 2010Cellular & Molecular Immunology2010,7,1:2
16Ecological Effects of Remote Smallsand Descending on Urban Area:Deduced from the 'Mud - Snow' in Changchun City显示文摘A serious sandstorm occurred in North China from April 5 to April 7, 2000, while the remote smallsand decending took place in even larger area to the far northeast China. In Chanchun city, smallsand descending with snow provides the best samples to conduct a quantitative research on the possible impacts of city - ecology. In the 253km2 urban district area of Changchun city, smallsands accumulated up to more than 3000t on April 7, according to the calculation of four 'mud - snow' samples. After naturally melting in room temperature, two samples are taken to do quarantine of 'invasion bacteria'. As a preliminary result, the individual amount of bacterium in 1 ml sample water is up to 8. 9 x 104 or 1. 05 x 105, and it is estimated that there are 640 million 'invasion bacterium' individuals in one square meter. Without taxonomists, organisms cannot be accurately identified, neither can these organisms be given universally accepted names, and reliably positioned in the phylogenetic tree of life.
