| 10 | Verification and Correction of Cloud Base and Top Height Retrievals from Ka–band Cloud Radar in Boseong,Korea显示文摘In this study,cloud base height(CBH) and cloud top height(CTH) observed by the Ka-band(33.44 GHz) cloud radar at the Boseong National Center for Intensive Observation of Severe Weather during fall 2013(September-November) were verified and corrected.For comparative verification,CBH and CTH were obtained using a ceilometer(CL51) and the Communication,Ocean and Meteorological Satellite(COMS).During rainfall,the CBH and CTH observed by the cloud radar were lower than observed by the ceilometer and COMS because of signal attenuation due to raindrops,and this difference increased with rainfall intensity.During dry periods,however,the CBH and CTH observed by the cloud radar,ceilometer,and COMS were similar.Thin and low-density clouds were observed more effectively by the cloud radar compared with the ceilometer and COMS.In cases of rainfall or missing cloud radar data,the ceilometer and COMS data were proven effective in correcting or compensating the cloud radar data.These corrected cloud data were used to classify cloud types,which revealed that low clouds occurred most frequently. | Su-Bin OH Yeon-Hee KIM Ki-Hoon KIM Chun-Ho CHO Eunha LIM | 2016 | Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2016,33,1: | 1 |

| 14 | Amorphous FeZr metal for multi-functional sensor in electronic skin显示文摘The composition of an amorphous metal,which is well known for having no slip plane or slip direction,can be tailored for enhanced strength and a lower Young’s modulus under mechanical stress.Unlike crystalline metals,elastic amorphous metals can,in principle,be used as a flexible electrode in soft,wearable electronics.A metal with a lattice structure absorbs external energy,which causes structural deformations,while an amorphous metal does not absorb energy.Therefore,amorphous metals have excellent mechanical properties that can overcome the limitations of crystalline metals.However,voids inside such metals are easily formed according to Thornton’s model,which results in the formation of mesoporous(10–50 nm)rods due to the spatial separation of metal atoms.We eliminated the porosity in amorphous metals by controlling the kinetic energy of sputtered metal atoms and ions.Optimized Fe_(33)Zr_(67) has an amorphous structure with a strength of 2.88 GPa and a Young’s modulus of 76.6 GPa.With this amorphous metal,we fabricated a stretchable and multi-functional sensor for electronic skin that enables the detection of pressure,temperature and light and also serves as a heater.In this work,we demonstrate the feasibility of the amorphous metal Fe33Zr67 in soft electronics for use in various industrial applications. | Minhyun Jung Eunha Lee Dongseuk Kim Kyungkwan Kim Changjin Yun Hyangsook Lee Heegoo Kim Kungwon Rhie Sanghun Jeon | 2019 | npj Flexible Electronics2019,3,1: | 1 |

| 20 | Recent trends in molecular aggregates:An exploration of biomedicine显示文摘Molecular aggregates are receiving tremendous attention,demonstrating immense potential for biomedical applications in vitro and in vivo.For instance,the molecular aggregates of conventional fluorophores influence the electronic excitation states of the aggregates,causing characteristic photophysical property changes.A fundamental understanding of this classical relationship between molecular aggregate structures and photophysics has allowed for innovative biological applications.The chemical characteristics of drug molecules generally trigger the formation of colloidal aggregates,and this is considered detrimental to the drug discovery process.Furthermore,nano-sized supramolecular aggregates have been used in biomedical imaging and therapy owing to their optimal properties for in vivo utility,including enhanced cell permeability,passive tumor targeting,and convenient surface engineering.Herein,we provide an overview of the recent trends in molecular aggregates for biomedical applications.The changes in photophysical properties of conventional fluorophores and their biological applications are discussed,followed by the effects of conventional drug molecule-aggregates on drug discovery and therapeutics development.Recent trends in the investigation of biologically important analytes with aggregation-induced emission are discussed for conventional and unconventional fluorophores.Lastly,we discuss nano-sized supramolecular aggregates used in imaging and therapeutic purposes,with a focus on in vivo utilization. | Jeongyun Heo Dhiraj P.Murale Hey Young Yoon V.Arun Sangkee Choi Eunha Kim Jun-Seok Lee Sehoon Kim | 2022 | Aggregate2022,3,2: | 0 |
