| 1 | D609 protects retinal pigmented epithelium as a potential therapy for age-related macular degeneration显示文摘Accumulated oxidative damage may lead to irreversible retinal pigmented epithelium(RPE)cell death,which is considered to be the primary cause of dry age-related macular degeneration(AMD),leading to blindness in the elderly.However,an effective therapy for this disease is lacking.Here,we described a robust high-content screening procedure with a library of 814 protective compounds and found that D609 strongly protected RPE cells from sodium iodate(SI)-induced oxidative cell death and prolonged their healthy survival.D609 effectively attenuated excessive reactive oxygen species(ROS)and prevented severe mitochondrial loss due to oxidative stress in the RPE cells.Surprisingly,the potent antioxidative effects of D609 were not achieved through its own reducibility but were primarily dependent on its ability to increase the expression of metallothionein.The injection of this small water-soluble molecule also showed an explicit protective effect of the RPE layer in an SI-induced AMD mouse model.These findings suggested that D609 could serve as a novel antioxidative protector of RPE cells both in vitro and in vivo and unveiled a novel antioxidative mechanism of D609,which may ultimately have clinical applications for the treatment of AMD. | Bowen Wang Li Wang Sijie Gu Yankun Yu Huaxing Huang Kunlun Mo He Xu Fanzhu Zeng Yichen Xiao Lulu Peng Chunqiao Liu Nan Cao Yizhi Liu Jin Yuan Hong Ouyang | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 2 |
| 2 | The Usage of “xiaojie (小姐)” in Contem porary Chinese: Synchronic Differences in Distribution and Possibilities for Diachronic Change显示文摘xiaojie(小姐, miss) is a popular form of address in contemporary Chinese; generally speaking, it is defined as a title for ―unmarried girl. This form has multiple connotations,. Given recent changes in society, some think that, xiaojie (小姐) will become a widely-used form of address, while others think that young females will come to consider the title repulsive. None can have the final say, this is because the synchronic language differences are not only the result of the synchronic change but also possibly its sign. Since synchronic differences could not only be a result of diachronic change but also could herald further change, it is not clear what direction xiaojie (小姐) will take. In the language conflicts, When two language varieties conflict, the more common variety usually influences the less common. | 7 | A comparative study of 85 hyperelastic constitutive models for both unfilled rubber and highly filled rubber nanocomposite material显示文摘Nonlinear finite element analysis is widely used for structural optimization of the design and the reliability analysis of complex elastomeric components.However,high-precision numerical results cannot be achieved without reliable strain energy functions(SEFs)of the rubber or rubber nanocomposite material.Although hyperelastic constitutive models have been studied for nearly 80 years,selecting one that accurately describes rubber's mechanical response is still a challenge.This work reviews 85 isotropic SEFs based on both the phenomenological theory and the micromechanical network theory proposed from the 1940s to 2019.A fitting algorithm which can realize the automatic fitting optimization and determination of the parameters of all SEFs reviewed is developed.The ability of each SEF to reproduce the experimental data of both the unfilled and highly filled rubber nanocomposite is quantitatively assessed based on a new proposed evaluation index.The top 30 SEFs for the unfilled rubber and the top 14 SEFs for the highly filled rubber nanocomposite are presented in the ranking lists.Finally,some suggestions on how to select an appropriate hyperelastic constitutive model are given,and the perspective on the future progress of constitutive models is summarized. | Hong He Qiang Zhang Yaru Zhang Jianfeng Chen Liqun Zhang Fanzhu Li | 2022 | Nano Materials Science2022,4,2: | 1 |

| 10 | Isolation,identification and optimization of fermentation conditions against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum strains in high salt Doenjang显示文摘With the global warming,the cultivation and storage of northern Chinese cabbage has been infected by Sclerotium bacteria,resulting in the whole plant rot.In this study,in order to develop a bio-inhibitory agent with antibacterial effect and no toxicity and no residue,three strains with high inhibition rate against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum were screened from 69 samples of Doenjang collected in different regions.By observing culture characteristics and physiological and biochemical tests,three strains were identified through 16S rDNA sequence and phylogenetic tree.The results showed that SP-6 was Bacillus amyloliquefaciens,SP-13 was Bacillus methylotrophicus,and SP-14 was Bacillus subtilis.Meanwhile,the inhibition rate of the aseptic fermentation filtrate of three strains against S.sclerotiorum was determined and the fermentation conditions of SP-14 strain was optimized.Results showed that all of three fermentation filtrates inhibited S.sclerotiorum.Data showed that the best conditions for fermentation for the antibacterial substances of SP-14 strain is as following:1%maltose,1%ammonium oxalate or beef extract,1%ferrous sulfate,fermentation at 32℃for 36 h,initial pH 8–9 and the inoculation amount 5%.The living bacteriostatic test showed that SP-14 strain had good inhibitory effect on S.sclerotiorum and the inhibitory effect was more significant when the bacteria concentration was 1.2×10^(11)CFU/mL. | Xian Zhang Hongmei Li Xiaoyu Kang Seongil Lim Fanzhu Li | 2021 | Food Science and Human Wellness2021,10,2: | 0 |

| 12 | Influence of Salt Content on Soil Microbial Biomass Carbon显示文摘Soil salinization has become a global issue. Saline and alkaline arable land was taken as research object in this paper and four salt gradients were set(S1: 0.1%; S2:0. 5%; S3:0.9%; S4:1.3%). Through the addition of different substrates( CK: no addition of substrate; N: addition of nitrogen source; C: addition of glucose,C + N: addition of glucose and nitrogen source) to soil,it analyzed the influence of salt content on the soil microbial biomass carbon( SMBC) for the purpose of surveying the response mechanism of soil carbon turnover to salt stress. Results indicated that after addition of different substrates,the SMBC in high salt content(S3 and S4) is obviously lower than that in low salt content( S1 and S2). The decline rate of S3 and S4 is 5. 4% and 14. 2% for no addition of substrate; the decline rate is 9.0% and 24.0% for addition of nitrogen source; the decline rate is 11.5% and 28.0% for addition of carbon source; the decline rate is 19.5% and 39.5% for addition of carbon source + nitrogen source. Compared with no addition of substrates,addition of nitrogen source could not increase the SMBC. Addition of carbon source and carbon + nitrogen can significantly increase the SMBC,and the increase in low salt content soil( 80.0%- 81.0% and 58.0%- 59.0%) is obviously higher than high salt content soil( 52.0%- 69.0%and 34.0%- 50.0%).
