2Vertical Spillover Effects of Multinationals on Chinese Domestic Firms via Supplier-Customer Relationships显示文摘Foreign direct investment(FDI)can benefit domestic firms in the host country.Using firmlevel data for China,we find statistically positive vertical spillover effects of multinational enterprises on the performance of domestic firms through backward and forward suppliercustomer relationships.The spillover effects are mainly from large multinational enterprises and are greater for state-owned firms and in poor regions.Our results are robust for both parametric regression and nonparametric matching techniques.Our findings have strong policy implications:while regulations relating to building business relationships with domestic firms when seeking foreign direct investment should be established,such policies should be aimed at private firms,big multinationals and less developed regions.Faqin Lin Chao Zhang Lin Wang 2013China & World Economy2013,21,6:4
3An investigation on supercooling directional solidification process of Cu-Ni single phase alloy显示文摘Supercooling directional solidification (SDS) is put fotward by combination of melt supercooling and conventional solidification by application of supercooling inheritance. On the self-designed SDS equipment, SDS of Cu-Ni alloy was achieved successfully The results are as follows f (i) The primary arm spacing is about 30 μm, the growth of secondary arms are strongly suppressed. The primary arm spacing is nearly the same as LMC method (GL=25 K/mm, V=500 pm/s), the primary stems are straight, fine and completed. with an inclination angle of about 5.8° (ii) A semi-quantitative T-T model is brought fotward to describe the dendrite growth rate V vs. undercooling AT The prediction of T-T model agrees well with experimental results. 5Powder Quartz/Nano-TiO2 Composite: Mechanochemical Preparation and Photocatalytic Degradation of Formaldehyde显示文摘Powder quartz(PQ)/nano-TiO_2 composite was prepared by a mechanochemical method. Based on as-prepared PQ/nano-TiO_2 composite, we prepared interior paints and investigated the degradation efficiency of formaldehyde(DEF). Scanning electron microscopy showed that nano-TiO_2 got well dispersed by the adding of PQ. Thermogravimetric analysis indicated that the mass ratio of 4:1 was a relatively good proportion for the most production of PQ/nano-TiO_2 composite. Fourier transform-infrared spectrometry showed that the peak position of Ti-O-Si bond varied with the milling time. At the early stage, no characteristic peak of Ti-O-Si bond was observed, while at the later stage, new peaks at 902 cm^(-1) and 937 cm^(-1) appeared. Meanwhile, PQ/nano-TiO_2 composite-based interior paint exhibited significant DEF of 96.3% compared to that consisting of sole nanoTiO_2 of 92.0% under visible light illumination. 6Application of Artificial Neural Network in Predicting the Thickness of Chromizing Coatings on P110 Steel显示文摘A series of rare earth (RE) dispersed chromizing coatings were produced on P110 steel by pack cementation. The orthogonal array design (OAD) was applied to set the experiments. An artificial neural network (ANN) approach is employed to predict the thickness values of the obtained chromizing coatings based on the OAD tests results. 7The Impacts of Trade Restrictions on World Agricultural Price Volatility during the COVID-19 Pandemic显示文摘During the COVID-19 pandemic,countries applied trade restrictions to insulate their domestic markets from the world market.However,these trade policies could have amplified international market price fluctuations.This paper explores the effects of trade restrictions on international agricultural price volatility.A theoretical model is developed to quantify how trade policies amplify the initial shock.Using panel data covering 71 countries from January 2020 to July 2021,we examine empirically the effects of trade policies on world agricultural price volatility.The results show that trade distortions further induced volatility of world agricultural prices by around 22 percent during the COVID-19 pandemic.The multiplier effects are much more substantial in agricultural exporting countries than in importing countries.Large countries like China and the US could make significant contributions to stabilizing world prices by limiting the extent of unilateral trade policy interventions.Wenshou Yan Yan Cai Faqin Lin Dessie Tarko Ambaw 2021China & World Economy2021,29,6:2

9Slurry erosion behaviors of P110 steel and chromizing coating in liquid-solid two-phase flow显示文摘A chromizing coating was formed on P110 oil casing tube steel (P110 steel) via pack cementation to improve its performance and increase the lifetime during operation. The slurry erosion behaviors of the P110 steel substrate and the chromizing coating were assessed in a liquid-solid two-phase flow condition. The results showed that the obtained coating exhibited higher surface hardness, lower mass loss, and lower slurry erosion rate than those of P110 steel. 12Si-Al-Y Co-deposition Coatings Prepared on Ti-Al Alloy for Enhanced High Temperature Oxidation Resistance显示文摘Si-Al-Y co-deposition coatings were prepared on Ti-Al alloy by pack cementation processes at 1 050 ℃ for 4 h with different halide activators in the packs for enhancing the high temperature oxidation resistance of Ti-Al alloy. The structure, constituent phases, formation process and oxidation behavior of the coatings were investigated. The experimental results showed that the coatings prepared respectively with NaF and NH_4Cl as activators were composed of a(Ti, X)_5Si_4,(Ti, X)_5Si_3(X represents Nb and Cr), and TiSi_2 outer layer, a TiAl_2 inner layer and an Al-rich interdiffusion zone. However, the constituent phases changed into TiSi_2 in the outer layer and(Ti, X)_5Si_4 and(Ti, X)_5Si_3 phases were observed in the middle layer of the coating prepared with AlCl_3·6H_2O activator. Among the halide activators studied, the coating prepared with AlCl_3·6H_2O was thicker and denser, which is the only suitable activator for pack Si-Al-Y co-deposition coatings on a Ti-Al alloy. The oxidation results show that the coating can protect the Ti-Al alloy from oxidation at 1000 ℃ in air for at least 80 h.
