1Task Offloading Decision in Fog Computing System显示文摘Fog computing is an emerging paradigm of cloud computing which to meet the growing computation demand of mobile application. It can help mobile devices to overcome resource constraints by offloading the computationally intensive tasks to cloud servers. The challenge of the cloud is to minimize the time of data transfer and task execution to the user, whose location changes owing to mobility, and the energy consumption for the mobile device. To provide satisfactory computation performance is particularly challenging in the fog computing environment. In this paper, we propose a novel fog computing model and offloading policy which can effectively bring the fog computing power closer to the mobile user. The fog computing model consist of remote cloud nodes and local cloud nodes, which is attached to wireless access infrastructure. And we give task offloading policy taking into account executi+on, energy consumption and other expenses. We finally evaluate the performance of our method through experimental simulations. 2Locating Parent Lightning Strokes of Sprites Observed over a Mesoscale Convective System in Shandong Province,China显示文摘In this paper, we report the location results for the parent lightning strokes of more than 30 red sprites observed over an asymmetric mesoscale convective system(MCS) on 30 July 2015 in Shandong Province, China, with a long-baseline lightning location network of very-low-frequency/low-frequency magnetic field sensors. The results show that almost all of these cloud-to-ground(CG) strokes are produced during the mature stage of the MCS, and are predominantly located in the trailing stratiform region, which is similar to analyses of sprite-productive MCSs in North America and Europe. Comparison between the location results for the sprite-producing CG strokes and those provided by the World Wide Lightning Location Network(WWLLN) indicates that the location accuracy of WWLLN for intense CG strokes in Shandong Province is typically within 10 km, which is consistent with the result based on analysis of 2838 sprite-producing CG strokes in the continental United States. 3Triangulation of red sprites observed above a mesoscale convective system in North China显示文摘The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. 5Identification of candidate genes controlling fiber quality traits in upland cotton through integration of meta-QTL,significant SNP and transcriptomic data显示文摘Background:Meta-analysis of quantitative trait locus(QTL)is a computational technique to identify consensus QTL and refine QTL positions on the consensus map from multiple mapping studies.The combination of meta-QTL intervals,significant SNPs and transcriptome analysis has been widely used to identify candidate genes in various plants.Results:In our study,884 QTLs associated with cotton fiber quality traits from 12 studies were used for meta-QTL analysis based on reference genome TM-1,as a result,74 meta-QTLs were identified,including 19 meta-QTLs for fiber length;18 meta-QTLs for fiber strength;11 meta-QTLs for fiber uniformity;11 meta-QTLs for fiber elongation;and 15 meta-QTLs for micronaire.Combined with 8589 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms associated with fiber quality traits collected from 15 studies,297 candidate genes were identified in the meta-QTL intervals,20 of which showed high expression levels specifically in the developing fibers.According to the function annotations,some of the 20 key candidate genes are associated with the fiber development.Conclusions:This study provides not only stable QTLs used for marker-assisted selection,but also candidate genes to uncover the molecular mechanisms for cotton fiber development.XU Shudi PAN Zhenyuan YIN Feifan YANG Qingyong LIN Zhongxu WEN Tianwang ZHU Longfu ZHANG Dawei NIE Xinhui 2020Journal of Cotton Research2020,3,4:1
6Nanoscale all-optical logic devices显示文摘Commercial computers based on electronic logic devices have brought great changes to the world. However, traditional electronic devices are suffering from numerous technical challenges in their attempts to continue to satisfy Moore's law. Alloptical logic devices, as promising successors to their electronic counterparts, have become a major focus of optics research. In this paper, we provide a review of current all-optical logic devices. The logic gates in these devices, which are described in the first part of the review, are divided into five categories based on the different principles used in their realization. Complex optical devices with various functions and reconfigurable devices are summarized in the next section. In the final part of this paper, we discuss some of the previous works on all-optical integrated chips with specific functions. 7Regulation of Thermogenesis in Plants:The Interaction of Alternative Oxidase and Plant Uncoupling Mitochondrial Protein显示文摘Thermogenesis is a process of heat production in living organisms.It is rare in plants,but it does occur in some species of angiosperm.The heat is generated via plant mitochondrial respiration.As possible involvement in thermogenesis of mitochondrial factors,alternative ox-idases(AOXs) and plant uncoupling mitochondrial proteins(PUMPs) have been well studied.AOXs and PUMPs are ubiquitously present in the inner membrane of plant mitochondria.They serve as two major energy dissipation systems that balance mitochondrial respiration and uncoupled phosphorylation by dissipating the H+ redox energy and proton electrochemical gradient(μH+) as heat,respectively.AOXs and PUMPs exert similar physiological functions during homeothermic heat production in thermogenic plants.AOXs have five isoforms,while PUMPs have six.Both AOXs and PUMPs are encoded by small nuclear multigene families.Multiple isoforms are expressed in different tissues or organs.Extensive studies have been done in the area of thermogenesis in higher plants.In this review,we focus on the involvement and regulation of AOXs and PUMPs in thermogenesis.Yan Zhu Jianfei Lu Jing Wang Fu Chen Feifan Leng Hongyu Li 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,1:1
8New clues to jet launching: The inner disks in radio loud quasars may be more stable显示文摘Jet launching in radio loud(RL) quasars is one of the fundamental problems in astrophysics. Exploring the differences in the inner accretion disk properties between RL and radio quiet(RQ) quasars might yield helpful clues to this puzzle. We previously discovered that the shorter term UV/optical variations of quasars are bluer than the longer term ones, i.e., the so-called timescaledependent color variation. This is consistent with the scheme that the faster variations come from the inner and hotter disk regions,thus providing a useful tool to map the accretion disk which is otherwise unresolvable. In this work we compare the UV/optical variations of RL quasars in SDSS Stripe 82 to those of several RQ samples, including those matched in redshift-luminosity-black hole mass and/or color-magnitude. We find that while both RL and RQ populations appear bluer when they brighten, RL quasars potentially show a weaker/flatter dependence on timescale in their color variation. We further find that while both RL and RQ populations on average show similar variation amplitudes at long timescales, fast variations of RL sources appear weaker/smaller(at timescales of ~25-300 d in the observer's frame), and the difference is more prominent in the g-band than in the r-band.Inhomogeneous disk simulations can qualitatively reproduce these observed differences if the inner accretion disk of RL quasars fluctuates less based on simple toy models. 10Mass spectral chemical fingerprints reveal the molecular dependence of exhaust particulate matters on engine speeds显示文摘Particulate matters(PMs) emitted by automobile exhaust contribute to a significant fraction of the global PMs. Extractive atmospheric pressure chemical ionization mass spectrometry(EAPCI-MS) was developed to explore the molecular dependence of PMs collected from exhaust gases produced at different vehicle engine speeds. The mass spectral fingerprints of the organic compounds embedded in differentially sized PMs(e.g., 0.22–0.45, 0.45–1.00, 1.00–2.00, 2.00–3.00, 3.00–5.00, and 5.00–10.00 μm) generated at different engine speeds(e.g., 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, and 3000 r/min) were chemically profiled in the mass range of mass to charge ratio(m/z) 50–800. Organic compounds,including alcohols, aldehydes, and esters, were detected in all the PMs tested, with varied concentration levels for each individual PM sample. At relatively low engine speeds(≤ 1500 r/min), the total amount of organic species embedded in PMs of 0.22–1.00 μm was greater than in PMs of other sizes, while more organic species were found in PMs of5.00–10.00 μm at high engine speeds(≥ 3000 r/min), indicating that the organic compounds distributed in different sizes of PMs strongly correlated with the engine speed. 11A comparative study of the electrical characteristics of positive and negative narrow bipolar events显示文摘Narrow bipolar events(NBEs)are intriguing intra-cloud discharge that have attracted enormous interest in the lightning community.They come with two polarities that dominate at different altitudes in thunderclouds.The sources of negative NBEs are usually located near the top of thunderclouds;those of positive NBEs are at the middle levels.NBEs may occur at the onset of lightning.The electrical properties of NBEs remain poorly understood.We present here the first comparative study of the electrical characteristics of negative and positive NBEs.To derive electrical parameters from the fast electric field change waveforms of 1673 positive NBEs and 364 negative NBEs recorded by the Jianghuai Area Sferic Array(JASA)in China,we use an improved method based on the transmission line model.This approach concludes that negative NBEs occurring at high altitudes tend to produce a narrower current pulse and take a shorter time to traverse the channel than their positive counterparts.Moreover,compared to positive NBEs,a larger portion of negative NBEs are associated with slightly greater peak current moments but smaller overall charge moments.The differences reported herein between electrical properties of negative and positive NBEs suggest that charge distribution in NBE-producing thunderstorms tends to vary systematically with altitude.FeiFan Liu BaoYou Zhu HeLin Zhou GaoPeng Lu Ming Ma JiuHou Lei 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,6:0
12Mechanical performances of shield tunnel segments under asymmetric unloading induced by pit excavation显示文摘To explore the stress and deformation responses,as well as the failure characteristics of the shield tunnel segment of Hangzhou Metro under the influences of pit excavation and other surrounding projects,a self-developed“shield tunnel segment hydraulic loading system”was used to carry out full-scale loading tests on the three-ring staggered assembled segments.The structural performances and failure process of the tunnel segment under step-by-step asymmetric unloading were studied.A safety index was proposed to describe the bearing capacity of the segment.Next,a finite element model(FEM)was established to analyze the bearing capacity of segment using the test results.Finally,the effect of reinforcement with a steel plate on the deformation and bearing capacity of the segment was analyzed.The results showed that under asymmetric unloading,the peak value and amplitude of the bending moment on the near unloading side converged with a greater value than those on the far side.The concrete internal force exhibited a directional transformation at different load stages.Cracks first appeared at the 180inner arc surface of the bottom standard block and then expanded to both sides,while the rate of crack propagation of the outer arc surface was relatively lower.The bearing capacity of the segments can be evaluated by the combination of the factors,e.g.the residual bearing capacity coefficient,moment transfer coefficient,and characterization coefficient.The segments approaching failure can facilitate the increase in the residual bearing capacity coefficient by more than 50%.This can provide guidance for the service assessment of metro tunnel operations.Gang Wei Feifan Feng Chengbao Hu Jiaxuan Zhu Xiao Wang 2023Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2023,15,6:0
