1Recent progress and future prospects of oil-absorbing materials显示文摘Oil and organic solvent contamination, derived from oil spills and organic solvent leakage, has been recognized as one of the major environmental issues imposing a serious threat to both human and ecosystem health. Among the various presented technologies applied for oil/water separation, oil absorption process has been explored widely and offers satisfactory results especially with surface modified oil-absorbing material and/or hybrid absorbents. In this review, we summarize the recent research activities involved in the designing strategies of oil-absorbing absorbents and their application in oil absorption. Then, an extensive list of various oil-absorbing materials from literature, including polymer materials, porous inorganic materials and biomass materials, has been compiled and the oil adsorption capacities toward various types of oils and organic solvents as available in the literature are presented along with highlighting and discussing the various factors involved in the designing of oil-absorbing absorbents tested so far for oil/water separation. 2Quantifying the effects of short-term heat stress at booting stage on nonstructural carbohydrates remobilization in rice显示文摘Extreme heat stress events are becoming more frequent under anticipated climate change,which can have devastating impacts on rice growth and yield.To quantify the effects of short-term heat stress at booting stage on nonstructural carbohydrates(NSC)remobilization in rice,two varieties(Nanjing 41 and Wuyunjing 24)were subjected to 32/22/27°C(maximum/minimum/mean),36/26/31°C,40/30/35°C,and 44/34/39°C for 2,4 and 6 days in phytotrons at booting stage during 2014 and 2015.Yield and yield components,dry matter partitioning index(DMPI),NSC accumulation and translocation were measured and calculated.The results showed that the increase of high-temperature level and duration significantly reduced grain yield by suppressing spikelet number per panicle,seed-setting rate,and grain weight.Heat stress at booting decreased DMPI in panicles,increased DMPI in stems,but had no significant effect on photosynthetic rate.Stem NSC concentration increased whereas panicles NSC concentration,stem NSC translocation efficiency,and contribution of stem NSC to grain yield decreased.Severe heat stress even transformed the stem into a carbohydrate sink during grain filling.The heat-tolerant Wuyunjing 24 showed a higher NSC transport capacity under heat stress than the heat-sensitive Nanjing 41.Heat degree-days(HDD),which combines the effects of the intensity and duration of heat stress,used for quantifying the impacts of heat stress indicates the threshold HDD for the termination of NSC translocation is 9.82°C day.Grain yield was negatively correlated with stem NSC concentration and accumulation at maturity,and yield reduction was tightly related to NSC translocation reduction.The results suggest that heat stress at booting inhibits NSC translocation due to sink size reduction.Therefore,genotypes with higher NSC transport capacity under heat stress could be beneficial for rice yield formation.Fengxian Zhen Junjie Zhou Aqib Mahmood Wei Wang Xini Chang Bing Liu Leilei Liu Weixing Cao Yan Zhu Liang Tang 2020The Crop Journal2020,8,2:9
3Modeling and prediction of ultrasonic attenuations in liquid-solid dispersions containing mixed particles with Monte Carlo method显示文摘We develop a theoretical model for predicting the ultrasonic attenuation in the liquid-solid system containing mixed particles. The ultrasonic attenuation coefficient is obtained by counting the number of phonons that reach the receiver. Using the Monte Carlo method (MCM), numerical simulations were performed to predict the ultrasonic attenuations with not only a single particle type but also monodisperse and polydisperse mixed particles. The simulation results for the systems with a single particle type were compared with various standard models. The results show that they agree well at relatively low particle volume concentrations (within 10%). For systems with mixed particles, the particle volume concentrati on was found to in crease to around 10%, and the variation of the ultrasonic attenuation agai nst the mixing ratio yields a nonlinear trend. Moreover, the ultrasonic attenuation is significantly affected by particle properties. 4Influence of lactic acid bacteria on physicochemical indexes,sensory and flavor characteristics of fermented sea buckthorn juice显示文摘Sea buckthorn has been proved to be a good substrate for lactic acid bacteria(LAB),but the research on the fermentation of sea buckthorn juice(SBJ)by LAB is still rare.This study was designed to determine the performance of fermented SBJ(FSBJ)in four LAB and investigate the sensory aspects of FSBJ.The results showed that the utilization rates of reducing sugar,titratable acid,and malic acid of SBJ fermented by Lactobacillus casei(SBJLc)were the highest and that lactic acid content was the greatest.The organic acid compositions of the four kinds of FSBJs were also different.The viable counts of all FSBJs was greater than 7 log CFU/mL,and that the viable count of SBJ fermented by SBJLc was the highest.In this study,the Electronic tongue combined with Electronic nose was used for the first time to study SBJ.Results showed that compared with the control,the response value of Sourness was significantly increased,while Bitterness and Astringency were significantly decreased.There was a significant difference in four FSBJs.The results of the electronic nose showed that SBJ fermented by Lactobacillus plantarum LP56(SBJLp)could be well identified by sensors sensitive to aromatic substances.The volatile compound contents before and after fermentation were significantly different,the highest being SBJLp.Finally,the results of sensory evaluation experiments showed that SBJLp was the most acceptable to consumers in terms of sensory evaluation.Yuanye Liu Jie Sheng Jingjing Li Panling Zhang Fengxian Tang Chunhui Shan 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:6

7Spectrum projection with a bandgap-gradient perovskite cell for colour perception显示文摘Optoelectronic devices for light or spectral signal detection are desired for use in a wide range of applications,including sensing,imaging,optical communications,and in situ characterization.However,existing photodetectors indicate only light intensities,whereas multiphotosensor spectrometers require at least a chip-level assembly and can generate redundant signals for applications that do not need detailed spectral information.Inspired by human visual and psychological light perceptions,the compression of spectral information into representative intensities and colours may simplify spectrum processing at the device level.Here,we propose a concept of spectrum projection using a bandgap-gradient semiconductor cell for intensity and colour perception.Bandgap-gradient perovskites,prepared by a halide-exchanging method via dipping in a solution,are developed as the photoactive layer of the cell.The fabricated cell produces two output signals:one shows linear responses to both photon energy and flux,while the other depends on only photon flux.Thus,by combining the two signals,the single device can project the monochromatic and broadband spectra into the total photon fluxes and average photon energies(i.e.,intensities and hues),which are in good agreement with those obtained from a commercial photodetector and spectrometer.Under changing illumination in real time,the prepared device can instantaneously provide intensity and hue results.In addition,the flexibility and chemical/bio-sensing of the device via colour comparison are demonstrated.Therefore,this work shows a human visual-like method of spectrum projection and colour perception based on a single device,providing a paradigm for high-efficiency spectrum-processing applications.Mei-Na Zhang Xiaohan Wu Antoine Riaud Xiao-Lin Wang Fengxian Xie Wen-Jun Liu Yongfeng Mei David Wei Zhang Shi-Jin Ding 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:4
8Acoustomechanical constitutive theory for soft materials显示文摘Acoustic wave propagation from surrounding medium into a soft material can generate acoustic radiation stress due to acoustic momentum transfer inside the medium and material, as well as at the interface between the two. To analyze acoustic-induced deformation of soft materials, we establish an acoustomechanical constitutive theory by combining the acoustic radiation stress theory and the nonlinear elasticity theory for soft materials. The acoustic radiation stress tensor is formulated by time averaging the momentum equation of particle motion, which is then introduced into the nonlinear elasticity constitutive relation to construct the acoustomechanical constitutive theory for soft materials.Considering a specified case of soft material sheet subjected to two counter-propagating acoustic waves, we demonstrate the nonlinear large deformation of the soft material and analyze the interaction between acoustic waves and material deformation under the conditions of total reflection, acoustic transparency, and acoustic mismatch.Fengxian Xin Tian Jian Lu 2016Acta Mechanica Sinica2016,32,5:4
9Analysis on capabilities of density-based solvers within OpenFOAM to distinguish aerothermal variables in difusion boundary layer显示文摘Open source feld operation and manipulation(OpenFOAM)is one of the most prevalent open source computational fluid dynamics(CFD)software.It is very convenient for researchers to develop their own codes based on the class library toolbox within OpenFOAM.In recent years,several density-based solvers within OpenFOAM for supersonic/hypersonic compressible flow are coming up.Although the capabilities of these solvers to capture shock wave have already been verifed by some researchers,these solvers still need to be validated comprehensively as commercial CFD software.In boundary layer where diffusion is the dominant transportation manner,the convective discrete schemes’capability to capture aerothermal variables,such as temperature and heat flux,is different from each other due to their own numerical dissipative characteristics and from viewpoint of this capability,these compressible solvers within OpenFOAM can be validated further.In this paper,frstly,the organizational architecture of density-based solvers within OpenFOAM is analyzed.Then,from the viewpoint of the capability to capture aerothermal variables,the numerical results of several typical geometrical felds predicted by these solvers are compared with both the outcome obtained from the commercial software Fastran and the experimental data.During the computing process,the Roe,AUSM+(Advection Upstream Splitting Method),and HLLC(Harten-Lax-van Leer-Contact)convective discrete schemes of which the spatial accuracy is 1st and 2nd order are utilized,respectively.The compared results show that the aerothermal variables are in agreement with results generated by Fastran and the experimental data even if the1st order spatial precision is implemented.Overall,the accuracy of these density-based solvers can meet the requirement of engineering and scientifc problems to capture aerothermal variables in diffusion boundary layer.Shen Chun Sun Fengxian Xia Xinlin 2013Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2013,26,6:4
10Magnetic properties and structure of (001)-oriented [CoPt/C]_n /Ag nanocomposite films on the glass substrates显示文摘The highly (001) oriented triple system of [CoPt/C]n /Ag films was deposited on glass substrates by DC and RF magnetron sputtering. After annealing at 600°C for 30 min, thin films become magnetically hard with coercivities in the range of 160-875 kA/m because of high anisotropy associated with the L10 ordered phase. C doping plays an important role in improving (001) texture and reducing the intergrain interactions. The oriented growth of CoPt films was influenced strongly by the number of repetitions (n) of CoPt/C. 12Preparation and analysis of active rat model of rheumatoid arthritis with features of TCM toxic heat-stasis painful obstruction显示文摘Objective:To establish a collagen type II-induced rat model of rheumatoid arthritis(RA)presenting characteristics of the human form of the traditional Chinese syndrome pattern of toxic heat-stasis painful obstruction(bi zheng;arthromyodynia)as well as pathologic features of active RA.The Chinese herbal medicine Tengmei decoction was used to validate the animal model.Methods:Ninety specific pathogen free Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into a normal group of 6 rats and a model group of 84 rats.To establish the rat model of collageninduced arthritis(CIA),bovine type II collagen in complete Freund’s adjuvant was injected into the model group rats as a priming dose(Day 0)and boosting dose(Day 9).Changes in arthritic index(AI)scores,including limb swelling,were monitored.Thereafter,24 successfullyestablished CIA rats were randomly assigned to 4 groups with 6 animals each:model,positive control drug,high-dose traditional Chinese herbal medicine,and traditional Chinese herbal medicine.A blank control group of 6 rats was included.After 12 weeks of intervention with Tengmei decoction,articular synovial tissue and serum specimens were collected to detect interleukin-2(IL-2)and IL-17 transcription and protein expression levels.Yanan Wang Yan Lu Jie Wang Zhiming Shen Hui Liu Weiguo Ma Jisheng Zhang Xuehong Ma Kang Wang Fengxian Meng 2015Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2015,2,3:3
13Dynamic flow resistivity based model for sound absorption of multi-layer sintered fibrous metals显示文摘The sound absorbing performance of the sintered fibrous metallic materials is investigated by employing a dynamic flow resistivity based model,in which the porous material is modeled as randomly distributed parallel fibers specified by two basic physical parameters:fiber diameter and porosity.A self-consistent Brinkman approach is applied to the calculation of the dynamic resistivity of flow perpendicular to the cylindrical fibers.Based on the solved flow resistivity,the sound absorption of single layer fibrous material can be obtained by adopting the available empirical equations.Moreover,the recursion formulas of surface impedance are applied to the calculation of the sound absorption coefficient of multi-layer fibrous materials.Experimental measurements are conducted to validate the proposed model,with good agreement achieved between model predictions and tested data.Numerical calculations with the proposed model are subsequently performed to quantify the influences of fiber diameter,porosity and backed air gap on sound absorption of uniform(single-layer)fibrous materials.Results show that the sound absorption increases with porosity at higher frequencies but decreases with porosity at lower frequencies.The sound absorption also decreases with fiber diameter at higher frequencies but increases at lower frequencies.The sound absorption resonance is shifted to lower frequencies with air gap.For multi-layer fibrous materials,gradient distributions of both fiber diameter and porosity are introduced and their effects on sound absorption are assessed.It is found that increasing the porosity and fiber diameter variation improves sound absorption in the low frequency range.The model provides the possibility to tailor the sound absorption capability of the sintered fibrous materials by optimizing the gradient distributions of key physical parameters.MENG Han AO QingBo TANG HuiPing XIN FengXian LU TianJian 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11:3

15Robust H_∞ control for uncertain descriptor systems with state and control delay显示文摘The problem of robust stabilization for uncertain continuous descriptor system with state and control delay is considered. The time-varying parametric uncertainty is assumed to be norm-bounded. The purpose of the robust stabilization is to design a memoryless state feedback law such that the resulting closed-loop system is robustly stable. A sufficient condition that uncertain continuous descriptor system is robustly stabilizabled by state feedback law is derived in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). 16MoO_(x) and V_(2)O_(x) as hole and electron transport layers through functionalized intercalation in normal and inverted organic optoelectronic devices显示文摘To achieve fabrication and cost competitiveness in organic optoelectronic devices that include organic solar cells(OSCs)and organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs),it is desirable to have one type of material that can simultaneously function as both the electron and hole transport layers(ETLs and HTLs)of the organic devices in all device architectures(i.e.,normal and inverted architectures).We address this issue by proposing and demonstrating Cs-intercalated metal oxides(with various Cs mole ratios)as both the ETL and HTL of an organic optoelectronic device with normal and inverted device architectures.Our results demonstrate that the new approach works well for widely used transition metal oxides of molybdenum oxide(MoOx)and vanadium oxide(V_(2)O_(x)).Moreover,the Cs-intercalated metaloxide-based ETL and HTL can be easily formed under the conditions of a room temperature,water-free and solution-based process.These conditions favor practical applications of OSCs and OLEDs.Notably,with the analyses of the Kelvin Probe System,our approach of Cs-intercalated metal oxides with a wide mole ratio range of transition metals(Mo or V)/Cs from 1:0 to 1:0.75 can offer significant and continuous work function tuning as large as 1.31 eV for functioning as both an ETL and HTL.Consequently,our method of intercalated metal oxides can contribute to the emerging large-scale and low-cost organic optoelectronic devices.Xinchen Li Fengxian Xie Shaoqing Zhang Jianhui Hou Wallace CH Choy 2015Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1:2
17Effects of ZrO_2 on the structure and magnetic properties of CoPt thin films显示文摘[CoPt 1.5 nm/ZrO2 x nm]10 multilayer films were deposited on glass substrates by magnetron sputtering and then an-nealed in vacuum at 600°C for 30 min. Their structures and magnetic properties were investigated as a function of ZrO2 content. The results show that the grain size and coercivity first increase and then decrease with the increase in ZrO2 content. The maximum coercivity and grain size are obtained at 37 vol.% of ZrO2. The content of ZrO2 in the film plays an impor-tant role in the separation of CoPt grains and in the reduction of intergrain exchange interaction. 18New Particle Swarm Optimisation Algorithm with Hénon Chaotic Map Structure显示文摘A new Particle swarm optimisation(PSO)algorithm based on the H′enon chaotic map(hereafter HCPSO algorithm) is presented in this paper to deal with the premature convergence problem of the traditional PSO algorithm. The HCPSO algorithm changes the structure of the traditional PSO algorithm and deviates from the structures of conventional hybrid algorithms that merely introduce chaotic searching into PSO. Based on the convergence condition of PSO, the HCPSO algorithm can improve solution precision and increase the convergence rate by combing using the targeting technique of chaotic mapping. For validation, fourteen benchmark functions were used to compare the proposed algorithm with six other hybrid PSO algorithms. 19Effect of Carbon on the Paramagnetic-Antiferromagnetic Transition and γ→εMartensitic Transformation of Fe-24Mn Alloys显示文摘The effect of C content (0.014-0.39 wt pct) on the paramagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition and γ→ε martensitic transformation of Fe-24Mn alloys has been investigated by the resistivity, dilation, tensile properties measurement and microstructure examination. The results have shown that C decreases T_N; increases the thermal expansion coefficients both above and below the T_N; increases the resistivity above the T_N and antiferromagnetic scattering resistivity below T_N. It strongly depresses the γ→ε martensitic transformation and reduces the M_s of Fe-24Mn alloys. Moreover, it increases the lattice parameter of austenite, enhances the tensile ductility, but almost does not affect the tensile strength.
