| 3 | Effect of hot extrusion process on microstructure and mechanical properties of hypereutectic Al-Si alloys显示文摘The hypereutectic Al-Si alloy was fabricated by hot extrusion process after solidified under electromagnetic stirring,and the microstructure and mechanical properties of the alloy were studied.The results show that the ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the alloy reached 229.5 MPa and 4.6%,respectively with the extrusion ratio of 10,and 263.2 MPa and 5.4%,respectively with extrusion ratio of 20.This indicates that the mechanical properties of the alloy are obviously improved with the increase of extrusion ratio.After hot extruded,the primary Si,eutectic Si,Mg2Si,AlNi,Al7Cu4Ni and Al-Si-Mn-Fe-Cr-Mo phases are refined to different extent,and the efficiency of refinement is obvious more and more with the increase of extrusion ratio.After T6 heat treatment,the sharp corners of these phases become passivated and roundish,and the mechanical properties are improved.The ultimate tensile strength of the extruded alloy after T6 heat treatment reaches 335.3 MPa with extrusion ratio of 10 and 353.6 MPa with extrusion ratio of 20. | Li Runxia Yu Fuxiao Zuo Liang | 2011 | China Foundry2011,8,1: | 3 |
| 4 | Microstructural evolution of direct chill cast Al-15.5Si-4Cu-1Mg-1Ni-0.5Cr alloy during solution treatment显示文摘Heat treatment has important influence on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Si alloys. The most common used heat treatment method for these alloys is solution treatment followed by age-hardening. This paper investigates the microstructural evolution of a direct chill (DC) cast Al-15.5Si-4Cu-1Mg-1Ni-0.5Cr alloy after solution treated at 500, 510, 520 and 530℃, respectively for different times. The major phases observed in the as-cast alloy are α-aluminum dendrite, primary Si particle, eutectic Si, Al7Cu4Ni, Al5Cu2Mg8Si6, Al15(Cr, Fe, Ni, Cu)4Si2 and Al2Cu. The Al2Cu phase dissolves completely after being solution treated for 2 h at 500℃, while the eutectic Si, Al5Cu2Mg8Si6 and Al15(Cr, Fe, Ni, Cu)4Si2 phases are insoluble. In addition, the Al7Cu4Ni phase is substituted by the Al3CuNi phase. The α-aluminum dendrite network disappears when the solution temperature is increased to 530℃. Incipient melting of the Al2Cu-rich eutectic mixture occurrs at 520℃, and melting of the Al5Cu2Mg8Si6 and Al3CuNi phases is observed at a solution temperature of 530℃. | 5 | Effect of DH treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of an LM28-0.3wt.%Nd hypereutectic aluminum silicon alloy显示文摘In this article, a novel heat treatment method, deformation heat (DH) treatment (extrusion + aging), was employed on a hypereutectic aluminum silicon alloy (LM28-0.3wt.%Nd), and its effect on microstructure and mechanical properties of this alloy was investigated. It can be concluded that the eutectic microstructure disappears after the DH treatment, in the meantime the morphology of α(Al) solid solution was transformed from fir-tree and cellular to equiaxed, Si was refined with grain sizes of about 1-10 μm and distributed dispersedly, even some of them became globular shape, which can reduce stress accumulation effectively. Mechanical properties test indicated that the DH treatment could significantly improve the room-temperature strength and have little effect on the high-temperature strength of LM28-0.3wt.%Nd alloy. | 9 | Studies on the isolation and culture of protoplasts from Kappaphycus alvarezii显示文摘In this study, protoplasts were successfully isolated from Kappaphycus alvarezii using snail enzymes, abalone enzymes and cellulase. The optimum enzymic ratio was fixed to be 20% of abalone enzyme, 12% of cellulase and the osmotic stabilizer was 2.0 mol/L glucose. The optimum enzymic hydrolysis conditions were found to be dark enzymolysis at 30°C continuing for 4.0 h. The resultant density and yield of protoplasts achieved 32.60×104 mL-1, 65.20×104 g-1 tissue for Kappaphycus alvarezii. | 15 | Effect of withdrawal rate on microstructure of a hypoeutectic Al-Si alloy by low superheat DC casting显示文摘To obtain the billet with homogeneous and spheroidized primary grains is the key step in the semi-solid forming process. Among the semi-solid billet preparation methods, the process of low-superheat direct chill (DC) casting is simpler and more effective. In this study, the billets of AlSi7Mg alloy were prepared by low-superheat DC casting at various withdrawal rates. The effect of withdrawal rate on the surface quality of the billets was investigated, and the evolution mechanism of the microstructural morphology in the billets was analyzed. The results show that the periodic corrugations and a large quantity of fine shrinkage pits appear in the billet surface when the withdrawal rate is 100 mm·min-1, and the above defects in the billet surface can be eliminated completely when the withdrawal rate is above 150 mm·min-1. But when the withdrawal rate is too fast (250 mm·min-1), the primary α grains, except the ones in the billet center, have not enough time for ripening due to the high silidification rate, and will solidify as the dendrite structure.
