2The synthesis of micro-sized silicon carbide whiskers and the application for heat transfer enhancement显示文摘This paper presents a simple and cost-effective method for the production of micro-sized silicon carbide whiskers at high yield and the effect on heat transfer enhancement for the whisker laden fluids. For Si C whisker synthesis, the starting powder mixture is obtained by milling short carbon fibers with the white ashes of rice hulls. Calcination in argon, together with the subsequent purification process, results in a high yield of Si C whiskers, which possess a diameter of 200–400 nm and a length of several tens of microns. The formation of the whiskers is discussed according to VS growth mechanism. Convective heat transfer performance in small channel tubes is then studied for fluid systems mixed with those micro-sized Si C whiskers at different concentrations. 4Residual stress and radial stress gradient in polycrystalline diamond compacts显示文摘The differential thermal expansion of the polycrystalline diamond layer and the tungsten carbide substrate results in large residual stresses as PDC cutters cooling after sintering.The residual stresses on the top surface of the diamond layer of PDC were measured at five points along the radial direction of PDC using X-ray Diffraction Residual Stress Instrument,thus the stresses and their radial distribution were obtained.The results show that the stresses on the diamond surface are compressive,the biggest stress appears at the central point(about 1200 MPa),and that from the center to the edge of PDC,the magnitude of the stress decreases. 5Inferring the invasion mechanisms of the red swamp crayfish in China using mitochondrial DNA sequences显示文摘The red swamp crayfish,Procambarus clarkii,is a native species in north-eastern Mexico and south-central USA.P.clarkii was introduced to China in 1929 and has been used as an aquaculture species in China since 1983.It currently exists in most of the provinces of China,but threatens local fish,crustaceans,aquatic plants and local freshwater ecosystems.We examined the genetic variation in partial mitochondrial ND2 gene of 831 individuals collected from 25 P.clarkii populations in 13 provinces of China to infer the expansion pathways and mechanisms.Six haplotypes were detected.All six haplotypes appeared in four populations in Nanjing and a population located near Nanjing whereas only 1–5 of the six haplotypes were present in other populations.These data suggest that the populations in Nanjing are probably the source of all other populations in China.There were no significant relationships between geographic distances and genetic distances in 25 populations,whereas significant relationship was found in four populations in Qinhuai River covering 50 km in Nanjing.These data suggest that the expansion mainly be human-mediated in large scale,and active disposal or non-anthropogenic passive dispersal might have played an important role in expansion at a smaller scale.In some places far away from Nanjing,several haplotypes existed,suggested multiple introduction events may have happened.Although aquaculture of this species could bring huge economic benefit,its potential to negatively affect native biota and entire ecosystems should not be ignored.Gen Hua Yue Jian-Bin Feng Jun Hong Xia Su Yin Cao Chun Ming Wang 2021Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,1:2

12Preparation of Nanoelectrode Ensembles by Assembly of Nano-Silver Colloid on Gold Surface显示文摘A novel method for preparing silver nanoelectrode ensembles (SNEEs) and gold nanoelectrode ensembles (GNEEs) has been developed. Silver colloid particles were first absorbed to the gold electrode surface to form a monolayer silver colloid. N-hexadecyl mercaptan was then assembled on the electrode to form a thiol monolayer on which hydrophilic ions cannot be transfered. The SNEEs was prepared by removing thiol from silver colloid surface through applying an AC voltage with increasing frequency at 0.20 V (vs. SCE). Finally, GNEEs was obtained by immersing a SNEEs into 6 mol/L HNO3 to remove the silver colloid particles. 13Planar-symmetry-breaking induced antisymmetric magnetoresistance in van der Waals ferromagnet Fe_(3)GeTe_(2)显示文摘Recently discovered magnetic van der Waals(vdW)materials provide an ideal platform to explore low-dimensional magnetism and spin transport.Its vdW interaction nature opens up unprecedented opportunities to build vertically stacked heterostructures with novel properties and functionalities.By engineering the planar structure as an alternative degree of freedom,herein we demonstrate an antisymmetric magnetoresistance(MR)in a vdW Fe_(3)GeTe_(2)flake with a step terrace that breaks the planar symmetry.This antisymmetric MR originates from a sign change of the anomalous Hall effect and the continuity of the current transport near the boundary of magnetic domains at the step edge.A repeatable domain wall due to the unsynchronized magnetization switching is responsible for this sign change.Such interpretation is supported by the observation of field-dependent domain switching,and the step thickness,temperature,and magnetic field orientation dependent MR.This work opens up new opportunities to encode magnetic information by controlling the planar domain structures in vdW magnets.Ping Liu Caixing Liu Zhi Wang Meng Huang Guojing Hu Junxiang Xiang Chao Feng Chen Chen Zongwei Ma Xudong Cui Hualing Zeng Zhigao Sheng Yalin Lu Gen Yin Gong Chen Kai Liu Bin Xiang 2022Nano Research2022,15,3:0
14Autonomous forward inference via DNA computing显示文摘Recent studies direct the researchers into building DNA computing machines with intelligence, which is measured by three main points: autonomous, programmable and able to learn and adapt. Logical inference plays an important role in programmable information processing or computing. Here we present a new method to perform autonomous molecular forward inference for expert system. A novel repetitive recognition site (RRS) technique is invented to design rule-molecules in knowledge base. The inference engine runs autonomously by digesting the rule-molecule, using a Class IIB restriction enzyme PpiI. Concentration model has been built to show the feasibility of the inference process under ideal chemical reaction conditions. 17Insights into spin polarization regulated exciton dissociation and charge separation of C_(3)N_(4)for efficient hydrogen evolution and simultaneous benzylamine oxidation显示文摘The employment of spin polarization under an external magnetic field holds great potential for the improvements of photocatalytic performance.However,owing to the huge difference in dielectric properties between ferromagnetic oxide and polymers,the photogenerated excitons with spin states are often limited to the ferromagnetic oxide wells,which leads to unsatisfactory activity.In this paper,a single-atom Co-doped C_(3)N_(4)photocatalyst is successfully synthesized for photocatalytic water splitting and simultaneous oxidation of benzylamine.Under a tiny external magnetic field(24.5 mT),the hydrogen production rate could reach at 3979.0μmol·g^(-1)·h^(-1),which is about 340 times that of C_(3)N_(4).Experimental results and theoretical calculations indicate that the interaction of Co d and N p orbital changes the symmetry center of C_(3)N_(4),resulting in an increase in dielectric constant and spin polarization.Moreover,magnetic fields further promote parallel electron spin,and the increased number of charges with the parallel spin-down state is likely to dissociate under the action of an external magnetic field.On the other hand,the Co-N bond provides a huge built-in electric field and active site for strengthening the charge transfer and surface reaction.This work not only deepens the understanding of spin polarization,but also enriches methods to accelerate electron-hole separation.Gen Li Xiaomei Sun Peng Chen Meiyang Song Tianxiang Zhao Fei Liu Shuang-Feng Yin 2023Nano Research2023,16,7:0

20Effect of alloying elements W,Ti,Sn on microstructure and mechanical properties of gray iron 220显示文摘Experiments were carried out to observe the variation in microstructure and mechanical properties of gray cast iron by adding pearlite promoting alloying elements such as Ti,Sn and W.Results show that adding Sn,Ti,and W with different concentrations improve the microstructure,Brinell hardness and tensile strength of gray cast iron.With the increase of alloying element concentration,the average graphite length and graphite content increase linearly.At the same time,average cell size and the maximum graphite length also decrease linearly.Brinell hardness and tensile strength of gray cast iron also increase with an increase in alloying elements contents,and attain the maximum when Ti=0.561%,Sn=0.561%and W=0.945%.However,at higher concentrations of Ti=0.810%,Sn=0.631%and W=1.351%,the tensile strength decreases from 333 MPa to 297 MPa and the Brinell hardness decreases from 248 HB to 225 HB.The decrease in tensile strength and Brinell hardness at the higher concentration level is attributed to the formation of coarse and thick graphite flakes.Abdul Razaq Jian-xin Zhou Talib Hussain Zhi-xin Tu Ya-jun Yin Xiao-yuan Ji Gen Xiao Xu Shen 2019China Foundry2019,16,6:0
