Reproductive management through integration of PGD and MPS-based noninvasive prenatal screening/diagnosis for a family with GJB2-associated hearing impairment显示文摘A couple with a proband child of GJB2(encoding the gap junction protein connexin 26)-associated hearing impairment and a previous pregnancy miscarriage sought for a reproductive solution to bear a healthy child. Our study aimed to develop a customized preconception-to-neonate care trajectory to fulfill this clinical demand by integrating preimplantation genetic diagnosis(PGD), noninvasive prenatal testing(NIPT), and noninvasive prenatal diagnosis(NIPD) into the strategy. Auditory and genetic diagnosis of the proband child was carried out to identify the disease causative mutations. The couple then received in-vitro-fertilization treatment, and eight embryos were obtained for day 5 biopsy. PGD was performed by short-tandem-repeat linkage analysis and Sanger sequencing of GJB2 gene. Transfer of a GJB2 c.235del C heterozygous embryo resulted in a singleton pregnancy. At the 13 th week of gestation, genomic DNA(g DNA) from the trio family and cell-free DNA(cf DNA) from maternal plasma were obtained for assessment of fetal chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2 mutations. NIPT and NIPD showed the absence of chromosomal aneuploidy and GJB2-associated disease in the fetus, which was later confirmed by invasive procedures and postnatal genetic/auditory diagnosis. This strategy successfully prevented the transmission of hearing impairment in the newborn, thus providing a valuable experience in reproductive management of similar cases and potentially other monogenic disorders. | XIONG WenPing WANG DaYong GAO Yuan GAO Ya WANG HongYang GUAN Jing LAN Lan YAN JunHao ZONG Liang YUAN Yuan DONG Wei HUANG SeXin WU KeLiang WANG YaoShen WANG ZhiLi PENG HongMei LU YanPing XIE LinYi ZHAO Cui WANG Li ZHANG QiuJing GAO Yun LI Na YANG Ju YIN ZiFang HAN Bing WANG Wei CHEN Zi-Jiang WANG QiuJu | 2015 | Science China(Life Sciences)2015,58,9: | 12
Co-CoO_x supported onto TiO_(2) coated with carbon as a catalyst for efficient and stable hydrogen generation from ammonia borane显示文摘Ammonia borane(AB) can be catalytically hydrolyzed to provide hydrogen at room temperature due to its high potentaial for hydrogen storage. Non-precious metal heterogeneous catalysts have broad application in the field of energy catalysis. In this article, catalysts precursor is obtained from Co-Ti-resorcinol-formaldehyde resin by sol–gel method. Co/TiO_(2)@N-C(CTC) catalyst is prepared by calcining the precursor under high temperature conditions in nitrogen atmosphere. Co-CoO_x/TiO_(2)@N-C(COTC) is generated by the controllable oxidation reaction of CTC. The catalyst can effectively promote the release of hydrogen during the hydrolytic dehydrogenation of AB. High hydrogen generation at a specific rate of 5905 m L min^(-1) g_(Co)^(-1) is achieved at room temperature. The catalyst retains its 85% initial catalytic activity even for its fifth time use in AB hydrolysis. The synergistic effect among Co, Co_(3)O_(4) and TiO_(2) promotes the rate limiting step with dissociation and activation of water molecules by reducing its activation energy. The applied method in this study promotes the development of non-precious metals in catalysis for utilization in clean energy sources. | Guang Yang Shuyan Guan Sehrish Mehdi Yanping Fan Baozhong Liu Baojun Li | 2021 | Green Energy & Environment2021,6,2: | 2

Effects of Al^3+on pollutant removal and extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)under anaerobic, anoxic and oxic conditions显示文摘Aluminum ions produced by aluminum mining, electrolytic industry and aluminum-based coagulants can enter wastewater treatment plants and interact with activated sludge. They can subsequently contribute to the removal of suspended solids and affect activated sludge flocculation,as well as nitrogen and phosphorus removal. In this study, the effects of Al^3+on pollutant removal, sludge flocculation and the composition and structure of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS)were investigated under anaerobic, anoxic and oxic conditions. Results demonstrated that the highest chemical oxygen demand(COD)and total nitrogen(TN)removal efficiencies were detected for an Al^3+concentration of 10 mg/L.In addition, the maximal dehydrogenase activity and sludge flocculation were also observed at this level of Al^3+.The highest removal efficiency of total phosphorus(TP)was achieved at an Ar+concentration of30 mg/L.The flocculability of sludge in the anoxic zone was consistently higher than that in the anaerobic and oxic zones. The addition of Al^3+promoted the secretion of EPS.Tryptophan-like fluorescence peaks were detected in each EPS layer in the absence of Al^3+.At the Al^3+concentration of 10 mg/L,fulvic acid and tryptophan fluorescence peaks began to appear while the majority of protein species and the highest microbial activity were also detected.Low Al^3+concentrations(<10 mg/L)could promote the removal efficiencies of COD and TN,yet excessive Al^3+levels(>10 mg/L)weakened microbial activity.Higher Al^3+concentrations(>30 mg/L)also inhibited the release of phosphorus in the anaerobic zone by reacting with PO4^3-. | Lanhe Zhang Jing Zheng Jingbo Guo Xiaohui Guan Suiyi Zhu Yanping Jia Jian Zhang Xiaoyu Zhang Haifeng Zhang | 2019 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2019,13,6: | 1
Synthesis of Biodiesel from Rapeseed Oil Using K_2O/γ-Al_2O_3 as Nano-Solid-Base Catalyst显示文摘Nano-solid-base catalyst K2O/γ-Al2O3 was prepared and adopted for the synthesis of biodiesel by transesterification of rapeseed oil with methanol. The particle diameter of the catalyst was about 50 nm, which was measured by transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The variables affecting the yield of biodiesel during transesterification, such as mass ratio of KNO3 to γ-Al2O3, calcination temperature, calcination time, catalyst content, molar ratio of methanol to oil, reaction temperature and reaction time were investigated. The catalyst obtained by calcining a mixture of KNO3 and γ-Al2O3 ( mK NO 3 / mγ -Al 2 O3= 70 %)at 600℃ for 3 h, was found to be the optimum one, which gave the highest catalytic activity in the reaction. With 3% (mcatalyst/moil) catalyst, when the transesterification was carried out at a molar ratio of methanol to oil of 12∶:1, a reaction temperature of 70 ℃ , and a reaction time of 3 h, yield of 94% was achieved. | HAN Heyou GUAN Yanping | 2009 | Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2009,14,1: | 1
Polar O-Co-P Surface for Bimolecular Activation in Catalytic Hydrogen Generation显示文摘Boron hydrides release an abundant amount of hydrogen in the presence of a suitable catalyst.Accelerating bimolecular activation kinetics is the key to designing cost-effective catalysts for borohydride hydrolysis. In this study, the bimolecular activation of a polar O-Co-P site demonstrated superior hydrogen-generation kinetics(turnover frequency,TOF=37 min−1,298 K)and low activation energy(41.0 kJ mol^(−1))close to that of noble-metal-based catalysts.Through a combination of experiments and theoretical calculations,it was revealed that the activated dangling oxygen atom in the Co–O precursor effectively replaced via surface-phosphorization because of strong electronic interactions between the dangling oxygen and P atoms. This substitution modulated the local coordination environment and electronegativity around the surface Co sites and formed a new polar O-Co-P active site for optimizing the activation kinetics of ammonia borane and water. This strategy based on bimolecular activation may create new avenues in the field of catalysis. | Huanhuan Zhang Ke Zhang Saima Ashraf Yanping Fan Shuyan Guan Xianli Wu Yushan Liu Baozhong Liu Baojun Li | 2023 | Energy & Environmental Materials2023,6,1: | 0
Coupling atom ensemble and electron transfer in PdCu for superior catalytic kinetics in hydrogen generation显示文摘The design of high-performance catalysts is the key to the efficient utilization of hydrogen energy. In this work,a PdCu nanoalloy was successfully anchored on TiO_(2)encapsulated with carbon to construct a catalyst.Outstanding kinetics of the hydrolysis of ammonia borane(turnover frequency of 279 mol·min^(-1·)mol_(Pd)^(-1))ranking the third place among Pd-based catalysts was achieved in the absence of alkali. Both experimental research and theoretical calculations reveal a lower activation energy of the B-H bond on the PdCu nanoalloy catalyst than that on pristine Pd and a lower activation energy of the O-H bond than that on pristine Cu.The redistribution of d electron and the shift of the d-band center play a critical role in increasing the electron density of Pd and improving the catalytic performances of Pd_(0.1)Cu_(0.9)/TiO_(2)-porous carbon(Pd_(0.1)Cu_(0.9)/T-PC).This work provides novel insights into highly dual-active alloys and sheds light on the mechanism of dual-active sites in promoting borohydride hydrolysis. | Xinru Zhao Yanyan Liu Huiyu Yuan Hao Wen Huanhuan Zhang Saima Ashraf Shuyan Guan Tao Liu Sehrish Mehdi Ruofan Shen Xianji Guo Yanping Fan Baozhong Liu Baojun Li | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,7: | 0
