| 2 | The R2R3-MYB transcription factor GhMYB1a regulates flavonol and anthocyanin accumulation in Gerbera hybrida显示文摘Anthocyanins and flavonols have vital roles in flower coloration,plant development,and defense.Because anthocyanins and flavonols share the same subcellular localization and common biosynthetic substrates,these pathways may compete for substrates.However,the mechanism regulating this potential competition remains unclear.Here,we identified GhMYB1a,an R2R3-MYB transcription factor involved in the regulation of anthocyanin and flavonol accumulation in gerbera(Gerbera hybrida).GhMYB1a shares high sequence similarity with that of other characterized regulators of flavonol biosynthesis.In addition,GhMYB1a is also phylogenetically grouped with these proteins.The overexpression of GhMYB1a in gerbera and tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum)resulted in decreased anthocyanin accumulation and increased accumulation of flavonols by upregulating the structural genes involved in flavonol biosynthesis.We further found that GhMYB1a functions as a homodimer instead of interacting with basic helix-loop-helix cofactors.These results suggest that GhMYB1a is involved in regulating the anthocyanin and flavonol metabolic pathways through precise regulation of gene expression.The functional characterization of GhMYB1a provides insight into the biosynthesis and regulation of flavonols and anthocyanins. | Chunmei Zhong Yi Tang Bin Pang Xukun Li Yuping Yang Jing Deng Chengyong Feng Lingfei Li Guiping Ren Yaqin Wang Jianzong Peng Shulan Sun Shan Liang Xiaojing Wang | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 7 |
| 3 | Effects of Structural Parameters on the Poisson’s Ratio and Compressive Modulus of 2D Pentamode Structures Fabricated by Selective Laser Melting显示文摘Metamaterials have been receiving an increasing amount of interest in recent years. As a type of metamaterial, pentamode materials (PMs) approximate the elastic properties of liquids. In this study, a finite-element analysis was conducted to predict the mechanical properties of PM structures by altering the thin wall thicknesses and layer numbers to obtain an outstanding load-bearing capacity. It was found that as the thin wall thickness increased from 0.15 to 0.45 mm, the compressive modulus of the PM structures increased and the Poisson’s ratio decreased. As the layer number increased, the Poisson’s ratio of the PM structures increased rapidly and reaches a stable value ranging from 0.50 to 0.55. Simulation results of the stress distribution in the PM structures confirmed that stress concentrations exist at the junctions of the thin walls and weights. For validation, Ti–6Al–4V specimens were fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM), and the mechanical properties of these specimens (i.e., Poisson’s ratio and elastic modulus) were experimentally studied. Good consistency was achieved between the numerical and experimental results. | 4 | Surface Ozone in Jiuzhaigou National Park, Eastern Rim of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, China显示文摘Located in southwestern China, Jiuzhaigou National Park is one of the most popular tourism destinations in China, famous for its unique aquatic ecosystems and beautiful forests. However, plants in the park may be at high ozone risk as a result of the intensive use of diesel tour buses in the park. In addition, Jiuzhaigou is close to a region with relatively high regional anthropogenic NO x emissions. During the growing season, also the peak season of tourism, we measured ozone concentration at two sites within the Park and these were: Jiuzhaigou Bureau (JB) and Long Lake (LL). The results indicate that ozone concentrations were not high enough to cause foliar injury during the monitoring period, although the risk of ozone to plants was higher in spring than in summer and autumn. Diurnal ozone cycles at JB and LL displayed significantly higher ozone concentrations in the daytime than in the nighttime, suggesting photochemical production of ozone during the day and ozone deposition during the night as a result of the nocturnal boundary layer. In parallel with the seasonal change of background surface ozone in the Northern Hemisphere, maximum daily 8-h average ozone concentration (MDA8) and daily ozone concentration decreased from spring to autumn at the two sites. This temporal variation in Jiuzhaigou was most likely associated with the downward mixing of ozone-rich air from the free troposphere, because all the high-ozone events (MDA8 > 70.0 ppb) were observed in spring and ozone-rich air from the free troposphere was the dominant cause. | 17 | The Preliminary Analysis of the Characteristics of Geomagnetic Harmonic Wave Amplitude Ratios before the Gaoyou-Baoying MS4.9 Earthquake显示文摘In this paper,the Gaoyou-Baoying M_S4.9 earthquake was analyzed by the geomagnetic harmonic wave amplitude ratios method. The earthquake was an isolated seismic event,before and after which there were no other earthquakes occurred in this region. The dense distribution of geomagnetic observataries provided an advantage condition for the analysis of characteristics of the geomagnetic harmonic amplitude ratios. The analysis results verify the former knowledge of anomaly characteristics of the geomagnetic harmonic amplitude ratio,that is,the anomalous characteristics of the earthquake mostly appeared during the decline-turning-recovery rising process.
