| 1 | Long-term result of endoscopic Histoacryl (N-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate)injection for treatment of gastric varices显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of endoscopic obliteration with Histoacryl for treatment of gastric variceal bleeding and prophylaxis.METHODS:Between January 1994 and March 2010 at SoonChunHyang University Hospital,a total of 127 patients with gastric varices received Histoacryl injections endoscopically.One hundred patients underwent endoscopic Histoacryl injections because of variceal bleeding,the other 27 patients received such injections as a prophylactic procedure.RESULTS:According to Sarin classification,56 patients were GOV1,61 patients were GOV2 and 10 patients were IGV.Most of the varices were large(F2 or F3,111 patients).The average volume of Histoacryl per each session was 1.7±1.3 cc and mean number of sessions was 1.3±0.6.(1 session-98 patients,2 sessions-25 patients,≥3 sessions-4 patients).Twenty-seven patients with high risk of bleeding(large or fundal or RCS+or Child C) received Histoacryl injection as a primary prophylactic procedure.In these patients,hepatitis B virus was the major etiology of cirrhosis,25 patients showed GOV1 or 2(92.6%)and F2 or F3 accounted for 88.9%(n=24).The rate of initial hemostasis was 98.4%and recurrent bleeding within one year occurred in 18.1%of patients.Successful hemostasis during episodes of rebleeding was achieved in 73.9%of cases.Median survival was 50 mo (95%CI 30.5-69.5).Major complications occurred in 4 patients(3.1%).The rebleeding rate in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma or GOV2 was higher than in those with other conditions.None of the 27 subjects who were treated prophylactically experienced treatment-related complications.Cumulative survival rates of the 127 patients at 6 mo,1,3,and 5 years were 92.1%,84.2%,64.2%,and 45.3%,respectively.The 6 mo cumulative survival rate of the 27 patients treated prophylactically was 75%.CONCLUSION:Histoacryl injection therapy is an effective treatment for gastric varices and also an effective prophylactic treatment of gastric varices which carry high risk of bleeding. | Eun Jung Kang Soung Won Jeong Jae Young Jang Joo Young Cho Sae Hwan Lee Hyun Gun Kim Sang Gyune Kim Young Seok Kim Young Koog Cheon Young Deok Cho Hong Soo Kim Boo Sung Kim | 2011 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,11: | 41 |
| 2 | HER2-induced metastasis is mediated by AKT/JNK/EMT signaling pathway in gastric cancer显示文摘AIM To investigated the relationships between HER2, c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK) and protein kinase B(AKT) with respect to metastatic potential of HER2-positive gastric cancer(GC) cells.METHODS Immunohistochemistry was performed on tissue array slides containing 423 human GC specimens. Using HER2-positve GC cell lines SNU-216 and NCI-N87, HER2 expression was silenced by RNA interference, and the activations of JNK and AKT were suppressed by SP600125 and LY294002, respectively. Transwell assay, Western blot, semi-quantitative reverse transcriptionpolymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescence staining were used in cell culture experiments. RESULTS In GC specimens, HER2, JNK, and AKT activations were positively correlated with each other. In vitro analysis revealed a positive regulatory feedback loop between HER2 and JNK in GC cell lines and the role of JNK as a downstream effector of AKT in the HER2/AKT signaling pathway. JNK inhibition suppressed migratory capacity through reversing EMT and dual inhibition of JNK and AKT induced a more profound effect on cancer cell motility.CONCLUSION HER2, JNK and AKT in human GC specimens are positively associated with each other. JNK and AKT, downstream effectors of HER2, co-operatively contribute to the metastatic potential of HER2-positive GC cells. | 7 | Deep Drawing Process Using a Tractrix Die for Manufacturing Liners for a CNG High-Pressure Vessel(Type Ⅱ)显示文摘The liner of a CNG pressure vessel is manufactured by a DDI(deep drawing and ironing)process for the cylinder part,which is a continuous process that includes a drawing process to reduce the diameter of the billet and a subsequent ironing process to reduce the thickness of the billet.A tractrix die used in the 1^(st) deep drawing allows the blank to flow smoothly by decreasing the punch load and radial tensile stress occurring in the workpiece.It also increases the draw ratio compared to conventional dies,but it causes forming defects.In this study,a shape coefficient(S_(c))is proposed for the tractrix die using the blank diameter(D_(0)),inflow diameter of the workpiece(d_(i)),and inflow angle of the workpiece(θ)for design of the tractrix die.The effects of the thickness and inflow angle of the workpiece on wrinkling and folding were investigated through FEA.Also,a discriminant is proposed for the relative radial stress(σ)generated during the deep drawing process using the tractirx die and used to predict fracture.Based on the results,the blank thickness,the draw ratio,and the inflow of the workpiece angle in the 1^(st) deep drawing process are suggested,and the number of operations in the DDI process was reduced from 6 to 4.This improves the productivity and reduces the manufacturing cost. | Gun‑Young Park Hyo‑Seo Kwak Hyo‑Seong Jang Chul Kim | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Usefulness of magnifying endoscopy for iodine-unstained lesions in a high-risk esophageal cancer population显示文摘AIM: To investigate the usefulness of magnified observations of iodine-unstained esophageal lesions in the histological diagnosis of esophageal mucosa abnormalities, in high-risk esophageal cancer groups. METHODS: The subjects included 38 patients who had at least one of the four criteria known to be highrisk factors for esophageal cancer. Following endoscopic observation, magnified observations were performed on iodine-unstained lesions of the esophagus. The total number of lesions was 43. These lesions were classified as type A (clear papilla), type B (fused papilla), and type C (non-visible papilla) according to the findings. Tissue biopsy was then carried out. Finally the histological findings were graded in terms of histological factors, and their relationships were compared. RESULTS: Of the 43 lesions, 11 were type A, 17 were type B, and 15 were type C under magnifying endoscopy. Histological findings such as inflammatory cell infiltration and basal cell hyperplasia were significantly increased in type B and type C lesions compared with type A lesions (P < 0.05). Low-grade esophageal dysplasia was apparent in 1 (9%) of 11 type A lesions, in 3 (18%) of 17 type B lesions, and in 6 (40%) of 15 type C lesions, with the highest rate in type C. | 15 | Single-Phase Ternary Compounds with a Disordered Lattice and Liquid Metal Phase for High-Performance Li-Ion Battery Anodes显示文摘Si is considered as the promising anode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)owing to their high capacities of 4200 mAh g-1and natural abundancy.However,severe electrode pulverization and poor electronic and Li-ionic conductivities hinder their practical applications.To resolve the afore-mentioned problems,we first demonstrate a cation-mixed disordered lattice and unique Li storage mechanism of single-phase ternary GaSiP_(2)compound,where the liquid metallic Ga and highly reactive P are incorporated into Si through a ball milling method.As confirmed by experimental and theoretical analyses,the introduced Ga and P enables to achieve the stronger resistance against volume variation and metallic conductivity,respectively,while the cation-mixed lattice provides the faster Li-ionic diffusion capability than those of the parent GaP and Si phases.The resulting GaSiP_(2)electrodes delivered the high specific capacity of 1615 mAh g-1and high initial Coulombic efficiency of 91%,while the graphite-modified GaSiP_(2)(GaSiP_(2)@C)achieved 83%of capacity retention after 900 cycles and high-rate capacity of 800 at 10,000 mA g-1.Furthermore,the LiNi_(0.8)Co_(0.1)Mn_(0.1)O_(2)//Ga SiP_(2)@C full cells achieved the high specific capacity of 1049 mAh g-1after 100 cycles,paving a way for the rational design of high-performance LIB anode materials. | Yanhong Li Lei Zhang Hung-Yu Yen Yucun Zhou Gun Jang Songliu Yuan Jeng-Han Wang Peixun Xiong Meilin Liu Ho Seok Park Wenwu Li | 2023 | Nano-Micro Letters2023,15,5: | 0 |
| 16 | Magnifying endoscopy for the diagnosis of specialized intestinal metaplasia in short-segment Barrett's esophagus显示文摘AIM:To determine whether magnified observation of short-segment Barrett’s esophagus(BE)is useful for the detection of specialized intestinal metaplasia(SIM).METHODS:Thirty patients with suspected short-segment BE underwent magnifying endoscopy up to×80.The magnified images were analyzed with respect to their pit-patterns,which were simultaneously classified into five epithelial types[Ⅰ(small round),Ⅱ(straight),Ⅲ(long oval),Ⅳ(tubular),Ⅴ(villous)]by Endo’s classification.Then,a 0.5%solution of methylene blue(MB)was sprayed over columnar mucosa.The patterns of the magnified image and MB staining were analyzed.Biopsies were obtained from the regions previously observed by magnifying endoscopy and MB chromoendoscopy.RESULTS:Three of five patients with a typeⅤ(villous)epithelial pattern had SIM,whereas 21 patients with a non-typeⅤepithelial patterns did not have SIM.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of pit-patterns in detecting SIM were 100%,91.3%,92.3%,60%and100%,respectively(P=0.004).Three of the 12 patients with positive MB staining had SIM,whereas 14patients with negative MB staining did not have SIM.The sensitivity,specificity,accuracy,positive predictive value,and negative predictive value of MB staining in detecting SIM were 100%,60.9%,65.4%,25%and100%,respectively(P=0.085).The specificity and accuracy of pit-pattern evaluation were significantly superior compared with MB staining for detecting SIM by comparison with the exact McNemar’s test(P=0.0391).CONCLUSION:The magnified observation of a shortsegment BE according to the mucosal pattern and its classification can be predictive of SIM. | Nam Seok Ham Jae Young Jang Sung Woo Ryu Ji Hye Kim Eui Ju Park Woong Cheul Lee Kwang Yeun Shim Soung Won Jeong Hyun Gun Kim Tae Hee Lee Sung Ran Jeon Jun Hyung Cho Joo Young Cho So Young Jin Ji Sung Lee | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,41: | 0 |
| 17 | A Self-Learning Data-Driven Development of Failure Criteria of Unknown Anisotropic Ductile Materials with Deep Learning Neural Network显示文摘This paper first proposes a new self-learning data-driven methodology that can develop the failure criteria of unknown anisotropic ductile materials from the minimal number of experimental tests.Establishing failure criteria of anisotropic ductile materials requires time-consuming tests and manual data evaluation.The proposed method can overcome such practical challenges.The methodology is formalized by combining four ideas:1)The deep learning neural network(DLNN)-based material constitutive model,2)Self-learning inverse finite element(SELIFE)simulation,3)Algorithmic identification of failure points from the selflearned stress-strain curves and 4)Derivation of the failure criteria through symbolic regression of the genetic programming.Stress update and the algorithmic tangent operator were formulated in terms of DLNN parameters for nonlinear finite element analysis.Then,the SELIFE simulation algorithm gradually makes the DLNN model learn highly complex multi-axial stress and strain relationships,being guided by the experimental boundary measurements.Following the failure point identification,a self-learning data-driven failure criteria are eventually developed with the help of a reliable symbolic regression algorithm.The methodology and the self-learning data-driven failure criteria were verified by comparing with a reference failure criteria and simulating with different materials orientations,respectively. | Kyungsuk Jang Gun Jin Yun | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,2: | 0 |
