2The leaching of additive-derived flame retardants(FRs) from plastics in avian digestive fluids:The significant risk of highly lipophilic FRs显示文摘The exposure to plastic debris and associated pollutants for wildlife is of urgent concern,but little attention has been paid on the transfer of plastic additives from plastic debris to organisms.In the present study,the leaching of incorporated flame retardants (FRs),including polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs),alternative brominated FRs (AFRs),and phosphate flame retardants (PFRs),from different sizes of recycled acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) polymer were investigated in avian digestive fluids.The impact of co-ingested sediment on the leaching of additive-derived FRs in digestive fluids was also explored.In the recycled ABS,BDE 209 (715 μg/g) and 1,2-bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy) ethane (BTBPE,1766 μg/g) had the highest concentrations among all target FRs.The leaching proportions of FRs were higher in finer sizes of ABS.The leaching proportions of FRs from recycled ABS increased with elevated logKow of FRs.In the tests with coexisted ABS and sediment,hexato deca-BDEs,BTBPE,and decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE) migrated from ABS to sediment,which resulted in the less bioaccessible fractions of these FRs in gut fluids.More lipophilic chemicals tended to be adsorbed by sediment from ABS.The results suggest the migration of additive-derived FRs from plastics to other indigestible materials in digestive fluids.The findings in this study provide insights into the transfer of additive-derived FRs from plastics to birds,and indicate the significant contribution of FR-incorporated plastics to bioaccumulation of highly lipophilic FRs.Huiying Guo Xiaobo Zheng Shuling Ru Xiaojun Luo Bixian Mai 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,11:5
3Low-cost preparation of mesoporous silica with high pore volume显示文摘Mesoporous silica materials with high pore volume were successfully prepared by the chemical precipitation method, with water glass and a biodegradable nonionic surfactant polyethylene glycol (PEG). The obtained materials were characterized by trans-mission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermo gravimetric analyzer and differential scanning calorimetry (TG-DSC), nitrogen adsorption-desorption measurements, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results showed that the changes of the pore parameters depended on both the surfactant content and heat treatment temperature. When the content of PEG was 10wt/ and the obtained PEG/SiO2 composite was heated at 600°C, the mesoporous silica with a pore volume of 2.2 cm3/g, a BET specific surface area of 361.55 m2/g, and a diameter of 2-4 μm could be obtained. 5Facet-dependent electrochemiluminescence spectrum of nanostructured ZnO显示文摘A facet-dependent electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior was found for nanostructured ZnO with different dominant exposing planes.The ECL spectrum of nanostructured ZnO was recorded by the emission scan mode with a fluorescence spectrometer and applied to investigate the difference of surface state for different crystal planes.Electronic structure calculations based on density functional theory were used to study the effect of crystal plane on the band structure and density of states.It revealed that the ECL emission was originated primarily from the recombination of electrons from Zn 4s and the hole from O 2p,which could be utilized to study the physical and chemical properties of surface structures of as-prepared nanostructured ZnO.A physical model was suggested to elucidate the differences of ECL spectra.A concept was proposed that the energy released as photons during ECL process of nanocrystalline semiconductor materials will be correlated with the energy level of active sites located at different crystal planes.WANG Lei YUE QiaoLi LI HaiBo XU ShuLing GUO LianShun ZHANG XianXi WANG HuaiSheng GAO XueXi WANG WenJun LIU JiFeng LIU Peng 2013Science China Chemistry2013,56,1:2

13LIFU-responsive nanomedicine enables acoustic droplet vaporization-induced apoptosis of macrophages for stabilizing vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques显示文摘Due to the high risk of tearing and rupture,vulnerable atherosclerotic plaques would induce serious cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.Despite the available clinical methods can evaluate the vulnerability of plaques and specifically treat vulnerable plaques before a cardiovascular event,but the efficiency is still low and undesirable.Herein,we rationally design and engineer the low-intensity focused ultrasound(LIFU)-responsive FPD@CD nanomedicine for the highly efficient treatment of vulnerable plaques by facilely loading phase transition agent perfluorohexane(PFH)into biocompatible PLGA-PEG-PLGA nanoparticles(PPP NPs)and then attaching dextran sulphate(DS)onto the surface of PPP NPs for targeting delivery.DS,as a typical macrophages-targeted molecule,can achieve the precise vaporization of NPs and subsequently controllable apoptosis of RAW 264.7 macrophages as induced by acoustic droplet vaporization(ADV)effect.In addition,the introduction of DiR and Fe3O4 endows nanomedicine with near-infrared fluorescence(NIRF)and magnetic resonance(MR)imaging capabilities.The engineered FPD@CD nanomedicine that uses macrophages as therapeutic targets achieve the conspicuous therapeutic effect of shrinking vulnerable plaques based on in vivo and in vitro evaluation outcomes.A reduction of 49.4%of vascular stenosis degree in gross pathology specimens were achieved throughout the treatment period.This specific,efficient and biosafe treatment modality potentiates the biomedical application in patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases based on the relief of the plaque rupture concerns.Jingxin Hou Jun Zhou Meiqi Chang Guangcheng Bao Jie Xu Man Ye Yixin Zhong Shuling Liu Junrui Wang Wei Zhang Haitao Ran Zhigang Wang Yu Chen Dajing Guo 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,10:1
