| 1 | Multi-dimension apportionment of clean air “parade blue”phenomenon in Beijing显示文摘The mass concentration and major chemical components of fine particulate matter were measured before,during and after Beijing's massive parade commemorating 70th anniversary of the Chinese Victory in World War II on September 3,2015.Regional emission inventory,positive matrix factorization(PMF),observations from space and backward air mass trajectories were jointly applied to identify the major pollution sources and their temporal and spatial variations.The contributions of emissions variations and the meteorological conditions related to the'parade blue'phenomenon in Beijing and its surrounding areas were investigated in detail.The main cause of the decreased PM_(2.5)mass concentration was attributed to the absolute reduction in emissions of primary air pollutants.The chemical composition of PM_(2.5)varied significantly before,during and after the parade.Fugitive dust particles were well controlled,the secondary formation of PM_(2.5)was reduced along with the controlled gaseous precursors'emissions from vehicles and industrial sources during the temporary intensified control period.During the parade period,the SO_2and NO_2column concentrations in Beijing and the surrounding areas decreased sharply,indicating that the coordinated reduction in primary emissions from the surrounding areas of Beijing played an important role in lowering the ambient concentration of SO_2and NO_2and accordingly lowered PM_(2.5)and improved the regional air quality.A comparison of the temperature,humidity,and wind speed and direction during the same periods in 2014 and 2015 showed that the meteorological conditions positively influenced the achievement of'parade blue'. | Yifeng Xue Yong Wang Xuefeng Li Hezhong Tian Lei Nie Xiaoqing Wu Junrui Zhou Zhen Zhou | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3: | 5 |
| 2 | Multi-perspective digital image correlation method using a single color camera显示文摘A novel 3 D digital image correlation(DIC) system based on a single three charge-couple device(3 CCD) color camera is proposed in this paper. Images from three different perspectives are captured by a 3 CCD camera using a reflective-based pseudo-vision system. These images are then separated by the different CCD channels, and the correlation algorithm for the multi-camera DIC system is adopted to evaluate the images. Compared to the conventional multi-camera DIC system, the proposed system is much more compact. In addition, the proposed system has no loss of spatial resolution, compares to the traditional single camera DIC system. The complex surface measurement ability and the measurement accuracy is significantly improved through the use of the multi-camera DIC algorithm. The principle of the proposed system is described in detail as well as the experimental setup. | 3 | Establishment of an optimized CTC detection model consisting of EpCAM,MUC1 and WT1 in epithelial ovarian cancer and its correlation with clinical characteristics显示文摘Objective:Emerging studies have demonstrated the promising clinical value of circulating tumor cells(CTCs)for diagnosis,disease assessment,treatment monitoring and prognosis in epithelial ovarian cancer.However,the clinical application of CTC remains restricted due to diverse detection techniques with variable sensitivity and specificity and a lack of common standards.Methods:We enrolled 160 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer as the experimental group,and 90 patients including 50 patients with benign ovarian tumor and 40 healthy females as the control group.We enriched CTCs with immunomagnetic beads targeting two epithelial cell surface antigens(EpCAM and MUC1),and used multiple reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)detecting three markers(EpCAM,MUC1 and WT1)for quantification.And then we used a binary logistic regression analysis and focused on EpCAM,MUC1 and WT1 to establish an optimized CTC detection model.Results:The sensitivity and specificity of the optimized model is 79.4%and 92.2%,respectively.The specificity of the CTC detection model is significantly higher than CA125(92.2%vs.82.2%,P=0.044),and the detection rate of CTCs was higher than the positive rate of CA125(74.5%vs.58.2%,P=0.069)in early-stage patients(stage I and II).The detection rate of CTCs was significantly higher in patients with ascitic volume≥500 mL,suboptimal cytoreductive surgery and elevated serum CA125 level after 2 courses of chemotherapy(P<0.05).The detection rate of CTC;and CTC;was significantly higher in chemo-resistant patients(26.3%vs.11.9%;26.4%vs.13.4%,P<0.05).The median progression-free survival time for CTC;patients trended to be longer than CTC;patients,and overall survival was shorter in CTC;patients(P=0.043).Conclusions:Our study presents an optimized detection model for CTCs,which consists of the expression levels of three markers(EpCAM,MUC1 and WT1).In comparison with CA125,our model has high specificity and demonstrates better diagnostic values,especially for early-stage ovarian cancer.Detection of CTC;and CTC;had predictive value for chemotherapy resistance,and the detection of CTC;suggested poor prognosis. | Tongxia Wang Yan Gao Xi Wang Junrui Tian Yuan Li Bo Yu Cuiyu Huang Hui Li Huamao Liang David M.Irwin Huanran Tan Hongyan Guo | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2022,34,2: | 2 |
| 4 | Nonfunctional alleles of long-day suppressor genes independently regulate flowering time显示文摘Due to the remarkable adaptability to various environments, rice varieties with diverse flowering times have abeen domesticated or improved from Oryza rufipogon.Detailed knowledge of the genetic factors controlling flowering time will facilitate understanding the adaptation mechanism in cultivated rice and enable breeders to design appropriate genotypes for distinct preferences. In this study,four genes(Hd1, DTH8, Ghd7 and OsPRR37) in a rice long-day suppression pathway were collected and sequenced in 154, 74,69 and 62 varieties of cultivated rice(Oryza sativa)respectively. Under long-day conditions, varieties with nonfunctional alleles flowered significantly earlier than those with functional alleles. However, the four genes have different genetic effects in the regulation of flowering time: Hd1 and Os PRR37 are major genes that generally regulate rice flowering time for all varieties, while DTH8 and Ghd7 only regulate regional rice varieties. Geographic analysis and network studies suggested that the nonfunctional alleles of these suppression loci with regional adaptability were derived recently and independently. Alleles with regional adaptability should be taken into consideration for genetic improvement. | 12 | Encapsulation of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) using self-assembling food-derived proteins for efficient biological functions显示文摘Docosahexaenoic acid(DHA;22n-6)possesses multiple biological functions, including antioxidant activity and ameliorating hypertriglyceridemia. However, the application of DHA has been limited due to poor aqueous solubility and susceptible to oxidation. Here, ovalbumin(O), myosin(M), 7S soy globulin(S), and β-lactoglobulin(β), hydrolyzed by chymotrypsin, self-assembled into micelles, respectively. Adding incremental DHA to micelles caused endogenous fluorescence quenching of O, M, S, and β micelles, implying successful incorporation of DHA into hydrophobic cores of micelles(O(DHA), M(DHA), S(DHA), and β(DHA)). The results showed that micelles provided spatial stability and improved solubility, and stability against thermal and ultraviolet(UV)light for DHA. The uptake of DHA from M(DHA), β(DHA), O(DHA), and S(DHA)was 3.27-, 3.91-, 2.7-, and 3.95-fold higher, respectively, than that of DHA by Caco-2 cells. Encapsulation in micelles increased DHA aqueous solubility and uptake, which enhanced cellular endogenous antioxidant defense. Meanwhile, increased uptake of DHA was verified by HepG2 cells, and O, M, S, and β micelles were proven to increase DHA uptake to reduce lipid deposition.
