| 1 | Effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on growth performance, carcass trait, meat quality, and plasma metabolites in pigs of different genotypes显示文摘Background:The protein/energy ratio is important for the production performance and utilization of available feed resources by animals.Increased protein consumption by mammals leads to elevated feed costs and increased nitrogen release into the environment. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary protein/energy ratio on the growth performance, carcass traits, meat quality, and plasma metabolites of pigs of different genotypes. Methods:Bama mini-pigs and Landrace pigs were randomly assigned to two dietary treatment groups(Chinese conventional diet with low protein/energy ratio or National Research Council diet with high protein/energy ratio;n = 24 per treatment) in a 2x2 factorial arrangement.Blood and muscle samples were collected at the end of the nursery, growing, and finishing phases. Results:We observed significant interactions(P< 0.05) between breed and diet for total fat percentage, intramuscular fat(IMF) content, protein content in biceps femoris(BF) muscle, and plasma urea nitrogen(UN) concentration in the nursery phase;for average daily gain(ADG),average daily feed intake(ADFI),dry matter,IMF content in psoas major(PM) muscle, and plasma total protein and albumin concentrations in the growing phase;and for drip loss and plasma UN concentration in the finishing phase.Breed influenced(P < 0.05) growth performance, carcass traits, and meat quality, but not plasma metabolites.Throughout the trial,Landrace pigs showed significantly higher(P < 0.05) ADG,ADFI,dressing percentage, lean mass rate, and loin-eye area than did Bama mini-pigs,but significantly lower(P< 0.05)feed/gain ratio, fat percentage, backfat thickness, and IMF content.Dietary protein/energy ratio influenced the pH value, chemical composition of BF and PM muscles, and plasma activities of glutamic-pyruvic transaminase and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, and plasma concentration of UN.Conclusions:Compared with Landrace pigs,Bama mini-pigs showed slower growth and lower carcass performance, but had better meat quality. Moreover, unlike Landrace pigs, the dietary protein/energy ratio did not affect the growth performance of Bama mini-pigs.These results suggest that,in swine production, low dietary protein/energy ratio may be useful for reducing feed costs and minimizing the adverse effects of ammonia release into the environment. | Yingying Liu Xiangfeng Kong Guoli Jiang Bi'e Tan Jinping Deng Xiaojian Yang Fengna Li Xia Xiong Yulong Yin | 2015 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2015,6,4: | 37 |

| 3 | Alcohols Extraction Process and Content of Active Ingredients in Chinese Northeastern Auricularia auricula显示文摘[Objectives] The aim was to study the type and content of alcohol-soluble active ingredients in Auricularia auricula. [Methods]With total yield of alcohol extract as an indicator, the optimal concentrations of ethanol, isopropanol and n-butanol for alcohol extraction of A. auricula powder were determined. The contents of total flavonoids, polyphenols and triterpenoids in three different alcohol extracts of A. auricula,as well as in the alcohol extracts of polysaccharides and melanin extraction residue of A. auricula were determined. [Results] When90% ethanol was used, the yield of alcohol extract of A. auricula was 10. 7%. In the alcohol extract, the contents of total flavonoids, polyphenols and triterpenoids were 5. 68 mg/100 g,0. 43% and 0. 55%,respectively. When 100% isopropanol was used, the yield of alcohol extract was 10. 1%. In the alcohol extract, the contents of total flavonoids, polyphenols and triterpenoids were 4. 84 mg/100 g,0. 66% and 0. 37%,respectively. When 70% n-butanol was used, the yield of alcohol extract was 5. 4%. In the alcohol extract, the contents of total flavonoids, polyphenols and triterpenoids were 4. 07 mg/100 g,1. 68% and 0. 30%,respectively. The yields of ethanol, isopropanol and n-butanol extracts of polysaccharide and melanin extraction residue of A. auricula were 13. 8%,14. 3% and 8. 9%,respectively. In the three kinds of alcohol extracts, the contents of total flavonoids were 8. 28,11. 99,and 12. 38 mg/100 g,respectively; the contents of polyphenols were 0.14%,0. 38% and 0. 75%,respectively; and the contents of triterpenoids were 0. 25%,0. 60% and 0. 58%,respectively. [Conclusions]This study will provide certain reference for the in-depth study and development and utilization of active ingredients in A. auricula. | Xianghui KONG Guoli YANG Xijun CHEN Hui WANG Dan CHEN | 2018 | Medicinal Plant2018,9,4: | 1 |

| 5 | Storm of soluble immune checkpoints associated with disease severity of COVID-19显示文摘Dear Editor,As the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)turns into a pandemic,it has literally caused a worldwide public health crisis.Progressive lymphopenia, especially in T cells, was a prominent clinical feature of severe COVID-19 in addition to dyspnea, hypoxemia, acute respiratory distress, and cytokine release syndrome.1 Recently, several studies revealed a correlation between T cell depletion and increased expression levels of several inhibitory checkpoint molecules on T cells in severe COVID-19 cases.2 Classically, inhibitory checkpoint molecules have been documented as key factors for regulating T cell exhaustion in a variety of chronic viral infections and tumors.Recent studies further implied a pivotal role of inhibitory checkpoint molecules in the pathophysiology of acute viral infections, such as Ebola virus or hantavirus infection.Of note, soluble isoforms of checkpoints can be produced by cleavage of membrane-bound proteins or by alternative splicing of mRNA and competitively regulate the functions of their membrane-bound counterparts.3 Thus it is of great interest to determine whether soluble checkpoint molecules are involved in immune regulation and severity of COVID-19. | Yaxian Kong Yu Wang Xueying Wu Junyan Han Guoli Li Mingxi Hua Kai Han Henghui Zhang Ang Li Hui Zeng | 2020 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1: | 0 |
| 6 | Enhanced Electrochemical Performances of Ni Doped Cr_(8)O_(21)Cathode Materials for Lithium-ion Batteries显示文摘Cathode materials, nickel doped Cr_(8)O_(21),were synthesized by a solid-state method. The effects of Ni doping on the electrochemical performances of Cr_(8)O_(21) were investigated. The experimental results show that the discharge capacities of the samples depend on the nickel contents, which increases firstly and then decreases with increasing Ni contents.Optimized Ni_(0.5)Cr_(7.5)O_(21)delivers a first capacity up to 392.6 m Ah·g^(-1)at 0.1C.In addition,Ni doped sample also demonstrates enhanced cycling stability and rate capability compared with that of the bare Cr_(8)O_(21).At 1 C,an initial discharge capacity of 348.7 m Ah·g^(-1)was achieved for Ni_(0.5)Cr_(7.5)O_(21),much higher than 271.4 m Ah·g^(-1)of the un-doped sample, with an increase of more than 28%.Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy results confirm that Ni doping reduces the growth of interface resistance and charge transfer resistance, which is conducive to the electrochemical kinetic behaviors during charge-discharge. | TANG Guoli LIU Hanxing YU Zhiyong YANG Bo KONG Linghua | 2023 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2023,38,6: | 0 |
