2Effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in treatment of coal chemical industry wastewater using moving bed biofilm reactor显示文摘Nitrogen removal via nitrite(the nitrite pathway) is more suitable for carbon-limited industrial wastewater. Partial nitrification to nitrite is the primary step to achieve nitrogen removal via nitrite. The effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in a continuous process was investigated by progressively increasing the alkalinity dosage ratio(amount of alkalinity to ammonia ratio, mol/mol). There is a close relationship among alkalinity, pH and the state of matter present in aqueous solution. When alkalinity was insufficient(compared to the theoretical alkalinity amount), ammonia removal efficiency increased first and then decreased at each alkalinity dosage ratio, with an abrupt removal efficiency peak. Generally, ammonia removal efficiency rose with increasing alkalinity dosage ratio. Ammonia removal efficiency reached to 88% from 23% when alkalinity addition was sufficient. Nitrite accumulation could be achieved by inhibiting nitrite oxidizing bacteria(NOB) by free ammonia(FA) in the early period and free nitrous acid in the later period of nitrification when alkalinity was not adequate. 3Advanced treatment of biologically pretreated coal gasification wastewater by a novel heterogeneous Fenton oxidation process显示文摘Sewage sludge from a biological wastewater treatment plant was converted into sewage sludge based activated carbon(SBAC) with Zn Cl2 as activation agent, which was used as a support for ferric oxides to form a catalyst(Fe Ox/SBAC) by a simple impregnation method.The new material was then used to improve the performance of Fenton oxidation of real biologically pretreated coal gasification wastewater(CGW). The results indicated that the prepared Fe Ox/SBAC significantly enhanced the pollutant removal performance in the Fenton process, so that the treated wastewater was more biodegradable and less toxic. The best performance was obtained over a wide p H range from 2 to 7, temperature 30°C, 15 mg/L of H2O2 and 1 g/L of catalyst, and the treated effluent concentrations of COD, total phenols,BOD5 and TOC all met the discharge limits in China. Meanwhile, on the basis of significant inhibition by a radical scavenger in the heterogeneous Fenton process as well as the evolution of FT-IR spectra of pollutant-saturated Fe Ox/BAC with and without H2O2, it was deduced that the catalytic activity was responsible for generating hydroxyl radicals, and a possible reaction pathway and interface mechanism were proposed. Moreover, Fe Ox/SBAC showed superior stability over five successive oxidation runs. 4Rb-Sr and Sm-Nd Isochron Ages of the Dongmozhazhua and Mohailaheng Pb-Zn Ore Deposits in the Yushu area, southern Qinghai and Their Geological Implications显示文摘Located on the northeast margin of the Qiangtang terrane between the Jinshajiang suture zone and Bangonghu-Nujiang suture zone, the Dongmozhazhua and Mohailaheng Pb-Zn deposits in the Yushu area of Qinghai Province are representative Pb-Zn deposits of the Pb-Zn-Cu polymetallic mineralization belt in the northern part of the Nujiang-Lancangjiang-Jinshajiang area, which are in the front belt of the Yushu thrust nappe system. The formed environments of these two deposits are different from those of sediment-hosted base metal deposits elsewhere in the world. The authors hold that they were formed during the Indian-Asian continental collision and developed within the foldthrust belt combined with thrust and strike-slip-related Cenozoic basins in the interior of the collisional zone. Studying on the metallogenic epochs of these two deposits is helpful to the understanding of ore-forming regularity of the regional Pb-Zn-Cu mineralization belt and also to the search for new deposits in this region. The age of the Dongmozhazhua deposit has been determined by the Rb-Sr isochron method for sphalerite residues, whereas the age of the Mohailaheng deposit has been determined by the Rb-Sr isochron method for sphalerite residues and the Sm-Nd isochron method for fluorite. The age of the Dongmozhazhua deposit is 35.0±0.0 Ma((87Sr/86Sr)0=0.708807) for sphalerite residues. The age of the Mohailaheng deposit is 32.2±0.4 Ma((87Sr/86Sr)0=0.708514) for sphalerite residues and 31.8±0.3 Ma((143Nd/144Nd)0=0.512362) for fluorite with an average of 32.0 Ma. Together with the regional geological setting during mineralization, a possible tectonic model for metallogeny of the Dongmozhazhua and Mohailaheng Pb-Zn deposits has been established. 5Rational Fabrication of Superhydrophobic Nanocone Surface for Dynamic Water Repellency and Anti-icing Potential显示文摘In this work,a simple and economic route was presented to fabricate an anti-icing superhydrophobic surface with nanocone structures,which were constructed only by one-step facile method of hydrothermal treatment with zinc acetate on the aluminum substrate.After modifying with fluoroalkylsilane (FAS-17),the nanocone structures with the appropriate size could induce the high superhydrophobicity with the water contact angle reaching 160.2° ± 0.4° and the sliding angle only being 1 ° ± 0.5°.Under the dynamic environments,the impact droplets could rapidly bounced off the surface with the shorter contact time of^1 0.6 ms,and it was mainly attributing to lower capillary adhesive force (water adhesion force of 4.1 μN) induced by the open system of nanocone structures.Furthermore,the superhydrophobic nanocone surfaces were verified to be a promising anti-icing/icephobic materials,on which the water droplets needed to spend the time of ~517 s to complete the entire freezing process at-10 ℃,displaying the increased ~50 times of icing-delay performance comparing with untreated substrate.Even if ice finally was formed on the superhydrophobic nanocone surfaces,it could be easily removed away with lower ice adhesion of^45 kPa.The repeatable measurement of ice adhesion strength on the same place of the superhydrophobic surface is still far less than the surface ice adhesion of smooth substrate,exhibiting better stability.Yuehan Xie Haifeng Chen Yizhou Shen Jie Tao Mingming Jin Yu Wu Wenqing Hou 2019Journal of Bionic Engineering2019,16,1:7
6Anoxic degradation of nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds by activated sludge and their active sites显示文摘The potential for degradation of five nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds(NHCs), i.e.,imidazole, pyridine, indole, quinoline, and carbazole, was investigated under anoxic conditions with acclimated activated sludge. Results showed that NHCs with initial concentration of 50 mg/L could be completely degraded within 60 hr. 7Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles with tunable cavity for plasmon-enhanced photocatalytic H2 evolution显示文摘Au-Ag alloy nanoparticles with different cavity sizes have great potential for improving photocatalytic performance due to their tunable plasmon effect.In this study,galvanic replacement was combined with co-reduction with the reaction kinetics processes regulated to rapidly synthesize Au-Ag hollow alloy nanoparticles with tunable cavity sizes.The position of the localized surface plasmon resonance(LSPR)peak could be effectively adjusted between 490 nm and 713 nm by decreasing the cavity size of the Au-Ag hollow nanoparticles from 35 nm to 20 nm.The plasmon-enhanced photocatalytic H2 evolution of alloy nanoparticles with different cavity sizes was investigated.Compared with pure P25(TiO2),intact and thin-shelled Au-Ag hollow nanoparticles(HNPs)-supported photocatalyst exhibited an increase in the photocatalytic H2 evolution rate from 0.48μmol h^−1 to 4μmol h^−1 under full-spectrum irradiation.This improved photocatalytic performance was likely due to the plasmon-induced electromagnetic field effect,which caused strong photogenerated charge separation,rather than the generation of hot electrons.Xuanyu Yue Juan Hou Haifeng Zhao Pengcheng Wu Yali Guo Qin Shi Long Chen Shanglong Peng Zhiyong Liu Guozhong Cao 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,10:4
8Nitrogen removal from coal gasification wastewater by activated carbon technologies combined with short-cut nitrogen removal process显示文摘A system combining granular activated carbon and powdered activated carbon technologies along with shortcut biological nitrogen removal(GAC-PACT-SBNR) was developed to enhance total nitrogen(TN) removal for anaerobically treated coal gasification wastewater with less need for external carbon resources. The TN removal efficiency in SBNR was significantly improved by introducing the effluent from the GAC process into SBNR during the anoxic stage, with removal percentage increasing from 43.8%–49.6% to 68.8%–75.8%. However, the TN removal rate decreased with the progressive deterioration of GAC adsorption. After adding activated sludge to the GAC compartment, the granular carbon had a longer service-life and the demand for external carbon resources became lower. Eventually, the TN removal rate in SBNR was almost constant at approx. 43.3%, as compared to approx. 20.0% before seeding with sludge. In addition,the production of some alkalinity during the denitrification resulted in a net savings in alkalinity requirements for the nitrification reaction and refractory chemical oxygen demand(COD)degradation by autotrophic bacteria in SBNR under oxic conditions. PACT showed excellent resilience to increasing organic loadings. The microbial community analysis revealed that the PACT had a greater variety of bacterial taxons and the dominant species associated with the three compartments were in good agreement with the removal of typical pollutants. 12Fabrication, adsorption and photocatalytic properties of ZnTi0.6Fe1.4O4/Carbon nanotubes composites显示文摘ZnTi_xFe_(2–x)O_4 and ZnTi_(0.6)Fe_(1.4)O_4/Carbon nanotubes(ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4)/CNTs) composites were prepared by chemical co-precipitation method. The composition, microstructure, magnetic property, adsorption and photocatalytic activity of the prepared samples were characterized by means of modern analytical techniques. The results indicated that ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4)/CNTs composites not only held the original special structure and excellent adsorption properties of CNTs, but also had suitable magnetic property and excellent photocatalytic activity. The removal rate of the samples on Rhodamine B(RhB) depended on the adsorption of CNTs and the photocatalytic degradation of ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4) in the composites. The maximum adsorption amount(q_m) of ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4)/CNTs with the mass ratios of ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4) to CNTs(mZ/C)=1 was up to 17.153 mg g^(–1) for RhB, its adsorption behavior was in accord with Langmuir model, and its photocatalytic degradation activity on RhB had a positive correlation with the content of ZT_(0.6)F_(1.4) in the sample. The experimental results indicate that the total removal rate of composite with mZ/C=1 on RhB was more than 95% and the composite had good decontamination capability on industrial dye wastewater. The charging methods were designed according to the characteristics of waste dumping of openpit metal mines, including charging based on the dumping amount of the total waste, multi-charging factors, exceeding standard punishment charging, and so on. The main charging parameter is based on the dumping area rather than the total amount of waste dumping.The charging model of waste dumping of open-pit mines was formulated, and the charging rate was divided into two parts, i.e., the standard charging rate and the differential charging rate. 20Investigation of Heterogeneous Ice Nucleation on the Micro-Cubic Structure Superhydrophobic Surface for Enhancing Icing-Delay Performance显示文摘The aim of this study is to explore the heterogeneous ice nucleation behavior based on controllable micro-cubic array structure surfaces from the statistic perspective.To this end,we firstly constructed a group of micro-cubic array structures on silicon substrates by a selective plasma etching technique.After grafting low-free-energy substance,the as-constructed micro-cubic array structure surfaces exhibited higher non-wettability with the water contact angle being up to 150°.On this basis,500 cycles of freezing and melting processes were accurately recorded to analyze the instantaneous ice nucleation behavior according to the statistical results of freezing temperature.As a consequence,the statistical freezing temperature of the sample with micro-spacing distance of 40μm is as low as−17.13°C.This microstructure configuration(conforming to Cassie-Baxter wetting regime)not only could entrap more air pockets,but also achieved lower solid-liquid contact area,resulting in lower ice nucleation rate(~2–3 orders of magnitude less than that on the flat substrate).Furthermore,the gradually increasing micro-spacing distance to 60μm would induce the transition from CassieBaxter to Wenzel wetting state,leading to higher freezing probability and ice nucleation rate.The complete understanding on microstructure configuration improving the ice nucleation will lay the foundation stone for the microstructure design of ice-repellent materials.Senyun Liu Qinglin Liu Xian Yi Yizhou Shen Long Guo Wenqing Hou Haifeng Chen Zhen Wang 2020Journal of Renewable Materials2020,8,12:0
