4Farmers′ Perception to Farmland Conversion: A Questionnaire Survey in Xining City, Qinghai Province, China显示文摘China is experiencing a fast process of farmland conversion which is conducted mainly by local governments to fuel economic development.Social tension is aroused and policy makers take great concerns on coordinating interests among different stakeholders,especially for increasing farmers′ interest.The purpose of this study is to get some insights related to land acquisition institution by exploring farmers′ perception to farmland conversion.Participatory Rural Appraisal(PRA) was applied for the investigation in peri-urban area,of Xining City,Qinghai Province,China.The total of 519 householders from 15 villages completed valid questionnaire survey from July to November,2012.The results indicate that farmland conversion has several impacts on farmers′ life.Most farmers are gradually adapting to city life.Higher living expenses and more income are perceived by farmers with average score of 4.21 and 2.69,respectively.The average scores of 2.38 and 2.46 are for improvement of life security and more job opportunities.Farmers expect to get some stable ways of compensation in addition to lump-sum compensation in cash.Stable subsidies every year and obtaining same number of land received strong proposal.And these two options are cited by 49.6% and 43.9% of respondents.Farmland conversion brings about cleaner living condition and more amenities,but lower air visibility and drier air.Results reflect landless farmers′ economic and life pressures and various demands.Local government should pay more attention to increase farmers′ income and improve rural security system.CHEN Qiong CAI Yunlong LIU Fenggui ZHOU Qiang ZHANG Haifeng 2013Chinese Geographical Science2013,23,5:4
5Substantial transition to clean household energy mix in rural China显示文摘The household energy mix has significant impacts on human health and climate,as it contributes greatly to many health-and climate-relevant air pollutants.Compared to the well-established urban energy statistical system,the rural household energy statistical system is incomplete and is often associated with high biases.Via a nationwide investigation,this study revealed high contributions to energy supply from coal and biomass fuels in the rural household energy sector,while electricity comprised∼20%.Stacking(the use of multiple sources of energy)is significant,and the average number of energy types was 2.8 per household.Compared to 2012,the consumption of biomass and coals in 2017 decreased by 45%and 12%,respectively,while the gas consumption amount increased by 204%.Increased gas and decreased coal consumptions were mainly in cooking,while decreased biomass was in both cooking(41%)and heating(59%).The time-sharing fraction of electricity and gases(E&G)for daily cooking grew,reaching 69%in 2017,but for space heating,traditional solid fuels were still dominant,with the national average shared fraction of E&G being only 20%.The non-uniform spatial distribution and the non-linear increase in the fraction of E&G indicated challenges to achieving universal access to modern cooking energy by 2030,particularly in less-developed rural and mountainous areas.In some non-typical heating zones,the increased share of E&G for heating was significant and largely driven by income growth,but in typical heating zones,the time-sharing fraction was<5%and was not significantly increased,except in areas with policy intervention.The intervention policy not only led to dramatic increases in the clean energy fraction for heating but also accelerated the clean cooking transition.Higher income,higher education,younger age,less energy/stove stacking and smaller family size positively impacted the clean energy transition.Guofeng Shen Rui Xiong Yanlin Tian Zhihan Luo Bahabaike Jiangtulu Wenjun Meng Wei Du Jing Meng Yuanchen Chen Bing Xue Bin Wang Yonghong Duan Jia Duo Fenggui Fan Lei Huang Tianzhen Ju Fenggui Liu Shunxin Li Xianli Liu Yungui Li Mu Wang Ying Nan Bo Pan Yanfang Pan Lizhi Wang Eddy Zeng Chao Zhan Yilin Chen Huizhong Shen Hefa Cheng Shu Tao 2022National Science Review2022,9,7:4
6Transition and fracture shift behavior in LCF test of dissimilar welded joint at elevated temperature显示文摘This work focused on the low-cycle fatigue(LCF) behavior of modified 9Cr/CrMoV dissimilar welded joint at elevated temperature. Narrow gap submerged arc welding(NG-SAW) process via multi-pass and multi-layer techniques was employed to fabricate the welded joint. LCF tests at different strain amplitude range from 0.22% to 0.75% were performed at strain ratio R =-1. The two-slope behavior based on fracture location shift was presented both on the cyclic stress-strain(CSS) curve and Manson-Coffin(M-C) curve, which could be applied to predict the fatigue life more precisely especially at relatively low strain amplitude. The results indicated that the joint failed in CrMoV-base metal(BM) at relatively low strain amplitude below 0.4% while failure shifted to CrMoV-over tempered zone(OTZ) at higher strain amplitude above 0.4%. Fatigue failure occurred in CrMoV-BM at low strain amplitude could be attributed to temperature softening effect in CrMoV-BM combined with cyclic strengthening in CrMoV-OTZ. While CrMoV-OTZ with a comparable number of grain boundaries and much lower hardness than that of CrMoV-BM was deemed to be the weakest zone across the welded joint at higher strain amplitude.EBSD investigations also revealed that CrMoV-BM experienced more fatigue damage at relatively low strain amplitude, while CrMoV-OTZ accumulated more plastic strain at higher strain amplitude.Xiongfei Wang ChendongShao Xia Liu Fenggui Lu 2018Journal of Materials Science & Technology2018,34,4:2
7Study of the intensity and driving factors of land use/cover change in the Yarlung Zangbo River, Nyang Qu River, and Lhasa River region, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China显示文摘Land use/land cover(LULC) is an important part of exploring the interaction between natural environment and human activities and achieving regional sustainable development. Based on the data of LULC types(cropland, forest land, grassland, built-up land, and unused land) from 1990 to 2015, we analysed the intensity and driving factors of land use/cover change(LUCC) in the Yarlung Zangbo River,Nyang Qu River, and Lhasa River(YNL) region, Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of China, using intensity analysis method, cross-linking table method, and spatial econometric model. The results showed that LUCC in the YNL region was nonstationary from 1990 to 2015, showing a change pattern with 'fast-slow-fast' and 'U-shaped'. Built-up land showed a steady increase pattern, while cropland showed a steady decrease pattern. The gain of built-up land mainly came from the loss of cropland. The transition pattern of LUCC in the YNL region was relatively single and stable during 1990–2015. The transition pattern from cropland and forest land to built-up land was a systematic change process of tendency and the transition pattern from grassland and unused land to cropland was a systematic change process of avoidance. The transition process of LUCC was the result of the combined effect of natural environment and social economic development in the YNL region. 8Effects of Active Gases on Droplet Transfer and Weld Morphology in Pulsed-Current NG-GMAW of Mild Steel显示文摘The current research of narrow-gap gas metal arc welding(NG-GMAW)primarily focuses on improving the sidewall fusion and avoiding the lack-of-fusion defect.However,the high cost and operation difficulty of the methods limit the industrial application.In this study,small amount of active gases CO_(2) and O_(2) were added into pure argon inert shielding gas to improve the weld formation of pulsed-current narrow-gap gas metal arc welding(NG-GMAW)of mild steel.Their effects on droplet transfer and arc behavior were investigated.A high-speed visual sensing system was utilized to observe the metal transfer process and arc morphology.When the proportion of CO_(2),being added into the pure argon shielding gas,changes from 5%to 25%,the metal transfer mode changes from pulsed spray streaming transfer to pulsed projected spray transfer,while it remains the pulsed spray streaming transfer when 2%to 10%O_(2) is added.Both CO2 and O_(2) are favorable to stabilizing arc and welding process.O_(2) is even more effective than CO_(2).However,O_(2) is more likely to cause slags on the weld surface,while CO_(2) can improve the weld appearance in some sense.The weld surface concavity in NG-GMAW is greatly influenced by the addition of active gas,but the weld width and weld penetration almost keep constant.This study proposes a new method which is beneficial to improving the weld bead formation and welding process stability.Guoqiang Liu Xinhua Tang Qi Xu Fenggui Lu Haichao Cui 2021Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,4:2
9Tight sandstone reservoir sensitivity and damage mechanism analysis: A case study from Ordos Basin, China and implications for reservoir damage prevention显示文摘Analysis of reservoir sensitivity to velocity,water,salt,acid,alkali and stress is critical for reservoir protection.To study the tight sandstone reservoir sensitivity at different formation depths(effective stress)and formation water conditions(pH,salinity,and fluid velocity),a series of dynamic core flow tests under different pH,salinity,acid,and effective stress conditions were performed on samples from tight sandstone reservoirs of the Upper Triassic Yanchang 8(T_(3)y^(8))Member and conventional reservoirs of the Middle-Lower Jurassic Yan'an 9(J_(1-2)y^(9))Member in the Ordos Basin.The results indicate that,compared with the conventional reservoirs,the tight sandstone reservoirs are more sensitive to velocity and stress,less sensitive to water,alkali and salinity,and respond better to acid fracturing.In addition,the critical conditions(salinity,velocity,pH,and stress)for pumping drilling,completion,and fracturing fluids into tight sandstone reservoirs were investigated.A combination of scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy-dispersive spectrometry(SEM-EDS),cathodoluminescence(CL),casting thin section(CTS)and nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)images,high-pressure mercury injection capillary pressure(MICP)measurements as well as X-ray fluorescence spectral(XRF)analyses were employed to analyze the damage mechanisms of the conventional reservoirs(J_(1-2)y^(9))and tight sandstone reservoirs(T_(3)y^(8))caused by fluid invasion.The results suggest that reservoir sensitivity is primarily conditioned by the composition of detrital components and interstitial fillings,petrophysical properties,pore-throat structure,and diagenetic facies.All these factors control the sensitivity types and extent of the reser-voirs.Our results indicate that the poorer the reservoir physical properties,the stronger the reservoir heterogeneity and sensitivity,implying that tight sandstone reservoirs are more susceptible to changes in fluids than conventional reservoirs.This study offers insights into the reservoir damage types and helps to improve the design and implementation of protection measures for tight sandstone reservoir exploration.Zhongquan Liu Bingbing Shi Tianchen Ge Fenggui Sui Yue Wang Pengfei Zhang Xiangchun Chang Ye Liu Yongrui Wang Zhaoyang Wang 2022Energy Geoscience2022,3,4:1

14Dynamic Assessment of Spatiotemporal Population Distribution Based on Mobile Phone Data: A Case Study in Xining City,China显示文摘High-resolution,dynamic assessments of the spatiotemporal distributions of populations are critical for urban planning and disaster management.Mobile phone big data have real-time collection,wide coverage,and high resolution advantages and can thus be used to characterize human activities and population distributions at fne spatiotemporal scales.Based on six days of mobile phone user-location signal(MPLS)data,we assessed the dynamic spatiotemporal distribution of the population of Xining City,Qinghai Province,China.The results show that strong temporal regularity exists in the daily activities of local residents.The spatiotemporal distribution of the local population showed a signifcant downtown-suburban attenuation pattern.Factors such as land use types,holidays,and seasons signifcantly afect the spatiotemporal patterns of the local population.By combining other spatiotemporal trajectory data,high-resolution and dynamic real-time population distribution evaluations based on mobile phone location signals could be better developed and improved for use in urban management and disaster assessment research.Benyong Wei Guiwu Su Fenggui Liu 2023International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2023,14,4:0
15Economic Ripple Effects of Individual Disasters and Disaster Clusters显示文摘Disaster clusters refer to major disasters that cluster in space and time without any linkage, resulting in large direct damage and economic ripple effects(EREs).However, the cumulative EREs caused by a disaster cluster may not be equal to the summation EREs of the individual disasters within a cluster. We constructed a global economic ripple input-output model suitable for the analysis of disaster clusters and demonstrated the extent of this difference with the example of two typical catastrophes that occurred in 2011(the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Great Thailand Flood), within an interval of only 136 days. The results indicate that:(1) The EREs suffered by 11 of the 35countries affected(30%) are “1 + 1 > 2”, and “1 + 1 < 2”for 24 of the 35 countries affected(70%). This indicates that there is a signifi cant difference between the cumulative and the summation losses. The difference is related to factors such as trade distance, economic influence of disasteraffected sectors, and trade ties;(2) The EREs are more than two times the direct loss and have an industrial dependence, mostly aggregated in key sectors with strong industrial influence and fast trade times in the industrial chain;and(3) Additional EREs due to the extension of the recovery period will be aggregated in countries with close trade ties to the disaster-affected country, further magnifying the difference.Zhengtao Zhang Ning Li Ming Wang Kai Liu Chengfang Huang Linmei Zhuang Fenggui Liu 2022International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2022,13,6:0
16In Situ DIC Study on LCF Behavior of Retired Weld Joint Subjected to Prolonged Service at Elevated Temperature显示文摘By using digital image correlation(DIC), low-cycle fatigue(LCF) behavior of CrMoV weld joint taken from a retired gas turbine rotor after 15-year service was investigated at 500 ℃ and 540 ℃. The most remarkable plastic strain was observed in the weld metal(WM), which was up to 6 times of the global strain at mid-life cycle. Due to the cyclic accumulation of local deformation, the stress–strain hysteresis loops relative to tensile or compressive strain concentration area in WM displayed the ratchetting shape. The local deformation accumulation of WM was attributed to the effect of the equiaxed grain zone near the WM center.
