1APOE and APOC1 gene polymorphisms are associated with cognitive impairment progression in Chinese patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease显示文摘Current evidence shows that apolipoprotein E(APOE), apolipoprotein CI(APOC1) and low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein(LRP) variations are related to late-onset Alzheimer's disease. However, it remains unclear if genetic polymorphisms in these genes are associated with cognitive decline in late-onset Alzheimer's disease patients. We performed a 30-month longitudinal cohort study to investigate the relationship between Alzheimer's disease and APOE, APOC1, and LRP. In this study, 78 Chinese Han patients with late-onset Alzheimer's disease were recruited form Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in China. APOE, APOC1, and LRP genotyping was performed using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphisms. The Mini-Mental State Examination and Clinical Dementia Rating Scale were used to assess patients' cognitive function. After a 30-month follow-up period, we found a significant reduction in Mini-Mental State Examination total score, a higher proportion of patients fulfilling cognitive impairment progression criteria, and a higher proportion of APOC1 H2 carriers in APOE ε4 carriers compared with non-carriers. In addition, the APOE ε4 allele frequency was significantly higher in the cognitive impairment progression group compared with the non-cognitive impairment progression group. 3Modulation of Fano resonances in symmetry-broken gold-SiO_2-gold nanotube dimers显示文摘Fano resonances in the symmetry-broken gold-SiO2-gold(BGSG)nanotubes and the associated dimers have been investigated based on the finite element method.In the BGSG nanotube,the symmetry breaking induced the interactions of the inner gold core and outer gold nanoshell plasmons of all multipolar orders and hence the red-shifts of the plasmon resonance modes and the enhanced quadrupole mode peaks were observed.The interference of the quadrupole mode peak with the subradiant dipole mode caused a Fano-dip in the scattering spectrum.By increasing the core offset-value in the BGSG nanotube,the Fano dip with low energy showed a red-shift and became deeper.Unexpectedly the plasmon coupling between a GSG nanotube and a BGSG nanotube can lead to two strong Fano dips in the scattering spectra of the dimer.It was further noted that the thin side of the BGSG nanotube located at two sides of the dimer gap can lead to the strong near-field coupling between two BGSG nanotubes and hence a deeper and broader Fano dip.WU DaJian YU HaiQun JIANG ShuMin WU XueWei LIU XiaoJun 2014Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,6:2

7Design and Experiment of the High Speed Wire Drawing with Ultrasound显示文摘The previous experiments of wire drawing with ultrasonic vibration were mostly carried out on self-made machine or drawing test machine and the drawing speed didn't conform to practical production. In order to promote the practical application of the technology,the ultrasonic vibration system was designed and manufactured by using the classical dynamics method. The dynamic characteristic of the ultrasonic vibration system was analyzed. The performance parameters of the system were measured on the resistance analyzer. The oxygen-free brass wire drawing with ultrasonic vibration at the approximate speed of practice was carried out on the LH-200/17 drawing machine. By comparing the wire drawing through ultrasonic vibration and the conventional wire drawing,the experimental results show that the drawing process with ultrasound was steady at the high drawing speed of 1 126 mm/s,while the broken wire often occurs at the speed of 980 mm/s during the conventional wire drawing; the ultrasonic vibration reduced the drawing force by 7 %; and the ultrasound also reduced the uneven deformation of the wire and greatly improved the surface quality of the wire. 19Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure Precipitated by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Infection in a Patient with Hepatitis B Virus-Related Cirrhosis: A Case Report显示文摘We present a case of acute-on-chronic liver failure(ACLF)in a patient with hepatitis B virus(HBV)-related decompensated cirrhosis and coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).A 58-year-old woman with HBV-related and decompensated cirrhosis without any anti-viral treatment previously was admitted to the hospital due to a confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)infection.On admission,she was in stable condition.Thoracic computed tomography(CT)and laboratory findings showed no significant abnormalities.Entecavir was initiated promptly for HBV,while antiviral therapy and supportive treatment were initiated for COVID-19.Her lung infection exacerbated after 10days of recurrent fever despite treatments,and there were signs of HBV reactivation.ACLF and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome developed rapidly from day 10 to day 19.The patient’s clinical deterioration was also consistent with pneumonia progression and elevated interleukin 6 levels.SARS-CoV-2 likely precipitated ACLF in cirrhotic patients,either by inducing HBV flare or serving as an acute insult directly.This study discussed the underlying mechanisms of this process and management details.Monitoring HBV status is necessary,and inflammatory parameters might be valuable.HBV suppression should be initiated early,and variceal hemorrhage primary prevention might be beneficial in COVID-19 patients with cirrhosis.Wanling Chen Qiran Zhang Shijun Li Ruiting Liang Haiqun Liang Yiqi Yu Chao Qiu Jiannan Lv Wenhong Zhang 2021Infectious Diseases & Immunity2021,1,3:1
