1Potential applications of porous organic polymers as adsorbent for the adsorption of volatile organic compounds显示文摘Volatile organic compounds(VOCs)with high toxicity and carcinogenicity are emitted from kinds of industries,which endanger human health and the environment.Adsorption is a promising method for the treatment of VOCs due to its low cost and high efficiency.In recent years,activated carbons,zeolites,and mesoporous materials are widely used to remove VOCs because of their high specific surface area and abundant porosity.However,the hydrophilic nature and low desorption rate of those materials limit their commercial application.Furthermore,the adsorption capacities of VOCs still need to be improved.Porous organic polymers(POPs)with extremely high porosity,structural diversity,and hydrophobic have been considered as one of the most promising candidates for VOCs adsorption.This review generalized the superiority of POPs for VOCs adsorption compared to other porous materials and summarized the studies of VOCs adsorption on different types of POPs.Moreover,the mechanism of competitive adsorption between water and VOCs on the POPs was discussed.Finally,a concise outlook for utilizing POPs for VOCs adsorption was discussed,noting areas in which further work is needed to develop the next-generation POPs for practical applications.Shuangchun Lu Qingling Liu Rui Han Miao Guo Jiaqi Shi Chunfeng Song Na Ji Xuebin Lu Degang Ma 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,7:4

7Synthesis and fluorescence properties of CdSe/CdS nanoparticles in aqueous media显示文摘On the basis of unique structural characteristics of α-cyclodextrin,α-cyclodextrin modified CdSe/CdS nanoparticles have been successfully synthesized in aqueous media.Techniques of AFM,TEM,EDS,FTIR,UV-vis absorbance and photoluminescence spectra were used to characterize the morphology,composition and optical characteristics of the synthesized nanoparticles.The results showed that the as-synthesized nanoparticles were elliptical and composed of several small particles.Their average length and diameter were about 20 nm and 15 nm.CdSe/CdS nanoparticles had single well-crystallized hexagonal structure.Packaged with a shell of CdS on the surface,α-CD/CdSe-CdS nanoparticles exhibited a red shift in the absorption spectrum,intensity growth in the emission spectrum and a substantial increase in Quantum yields.The size distribution could be adjusted by precursor ratios in the presence of α-cyclodextrins.Han, DongMei Song, ChunFeng Guo, GuangSheng Li, XiaoYu 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,5:1

13Co-modulated interface binding energy and electric field distribution of layer-structured PVDF–LDPE dielectric composites with BaTiO3: experiment and multiscale simulations显示文摘The layer-structured composites were built by the dielectric and insulating layers composed of polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)and low-density polyethylene(LDPE)composites containing barium titanate(BT)to modulate the dielectric and energy storage properties of the composites.The simulations on the interface models for molecular dynamics and the geometric models for finite element analysis were performed together with the experimental characterization of the morphology,dielectric,and energy storage properties of the composites.The results revealed that polyethylene as an insulating layer played a successful role in modulating dielectric permittivity and breakdown strength while BT particles exerted positive effects in improving the miscibility between the composed layers and redistributing the electric field.The strong interface binding energy and the similar dielectric permittivity between the PVDF layer and the BT20/LDPE layer made for the layer-structured composites with a characteristic breakdown strength(Eb)of 188.9 kV·mm^(−1),a discharge energy density(Ud)of 1.42 J·cm^(−3),and a dielectric loss factor(tanδ)of 0.017,which were increased by 94%,141%,and decreased by 54%in comparison with those of the BT20/PVDF composite,respectively.Ruitian Bo Chunfeng Wang Yongliang Wang Peigang He Zhidong Han 2023Frontiers of Materials Science2023,17,3:0
14Neogene faulting and volcanism in the Victoria Land Basin of the Ross Sea, Antarctica显示文摘The Neogene Terror Rift in the Antarctic Victoria Land Basin(VLB)of the Ross Sea,Antarctica,is composed of the Discovery Graben and the Lee Arch.Many Neogene volcanoes are aligned in the north-south direction in the southern VLB,belonging to the McMurdo Volcanic Group.However,due to multiple glaciations and limited seismic data,the volcanic processes are still unclear in the northern VLB,especially in the Terror Rift.Multichannel seismic profiles were collected at the VLB from the 32nd Chinese National Antarctic Research Expedition(CHINARE).We utilized four seismic profiles from the CHINARE and additional historical profiles,along with gravity and magnetic anomalies,to analyze faults and stratigraphic characteristics in the northern Terror Rift and volcanism in the VLB.Negative flower structures found in the northern Terror Rift suggest that the Terror Rift was affected by dextral strike-slip faults extending from the northern Victoria Land(NVL).After the initial orthogonal tension,the rift transited into an oblique extension,forming a set of downward concaving normal faults and accommodation zones in the Terror Rift.On the Lee Arch,several imbricated normal faults formed and converged into a detachment fault.Under gravitational forces,the strata bent upward and formed a rollover anticline.Many deep faults and thin strata subjected to erosion facilitated volcanic activity.A brittle volcanic region in the VLB was affected by dextral strike-slip movements and east-west extension,resulting in two Neogene volcanic chains that connect three igneous provinces in the VLB:the Hallett,Melbourne,and Erebus Provinces.These two chains contain mud volcanoes with magnetic nuclei,volcanic intrusions,and late-stage volcanic eruptions.Volcanisms have brought about opposite polarities of magnetic anomalies in Antarctica,indicating the occurrence of multiple volcanic activities.Mei Yue JinYao Gao ChunFeng Li Chao Zhu XinZhi Fan Guochao Wu ZhongYan Shen Han Shi XiaoXian Cai YiDong Guo 2022Earth and Planetary Physics2022,6,3:0

16Fluorescent immunosensor based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer between CdSe/ZnS quantum dots and Au nanorods for PRRSV detection显示文摘An ultrasensitive and selective sandwich-type fluorescent immunosensor based on fluorescence resonance energy transfer(FRET)between CdSe/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)and Au nanorods(AuNRs)was developed for the rapid detection of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus(PRRSV).Modified CdSe/ZnS QDs and AuNRs were bioconjugated with primary antibodies M and GP5,respectively.When the target antigen was present,a well-known sandwich-type form CdSe/ZnS QDs-M antibody-antigen-GP5 antibody-AuNRs was produced,and thus reducing the distance between the QDs and NRs.As a result,FRET occurred and the fluorescence intensity of CdSe/ZnS QDs decreased,and this decrease was used to determine the antigen concentration.Ultrasensitive detection of PRRSV at low concentrations in swine serum was achieved with a limit of detection of 0.55 TCID50/mL and a linear detection range of 101–3.5104 TCID50/mL.Therefore,the fluorescent immunosensor is selective and highly sensitive;specifically,it can detect PRRSV at low concentrations in swine serum over a large concentration range.This proposed detection method can facilitate the development of high-performance fluorescent immunosensors for the detection of PRRSV and other antigens.Xue Li Jinhua Li Wentao Yang Dandan Han Na Yao Hongbin Zhao Xueying Chu Xuemei Liang Chunguang Bi Chunfeng Wang Guilian Yang 2022Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2022,32,2:0
17Electron-irradiation-facilitated production of chemically homogenized nanotwins in nanolaminated carbides显示文摘Twin boundaries have been exploited to stabilize ultrafine grains and improve mechanical properties of nanomaterials.The production of the twin boundaries and nanotwins is however prohibitively challenging in carbide ceramics.Using a scanning transmission electron microscope as a unique platform for atomic-scale structure engineering,we demonstrate that twin platelets could be produced in carbides by engineering antisite defects.The antisite defects at metal sites in various layered ternary carbides are collectively and controllably generated,and the metal elements are homogenized by electron irradiation,which transforms a twin-like lamellae into nanotwin platelets.Accompanying chemical homogenization,α-Ti_(3)AlC_(2) transforms to unconventionalβ-Ti_(3)AiC_(2).The chemical homogeneity and the width of the twin platelets can be tuned by dose and energy of bombarding electrons.Chemically homogenized nanotwins can boost hardness by~45%.Our results provide a new way to produce ultrathin(<5 nm)nanotwin platelets in scientifically and technologically important carbide materials and showcase feasibility of defect engineering by an angstrom-sized electron probe.Hui Zhang Qianqian Jin Tao Hu Xiaochun Liu Zezhong Zhang Chunfeng Hu Yanchun Zhou Yu Han Xiaohui Wang 2023Journal of Advanced Ceramics2023,12,6:0
