1The material and biological characteristics of osteoinductive calcium phosphate ceramics显示文摘The discovery of osteoinductivity of calcium phosphate(Ca-P)ceramics has set an enduring paradigm of conferring biological regenerative activity to materials with carefully designed structural characteristics.The unique phase composition and porous structural features of osteoinductive Ca-P ceramics allow it to interact with signaling molecules and extracellular matrices in the host system,creating a local environment conducive to new bone formation.Mounting evidence now indicate that the osteoinductive activity of Ca-P ceramics is linked to their physicochemical and three-dimensional structural properties.Inspired by this conceptual breakthrough,many laboratories have shown that other materials can be also enticed to join the rank of tissue-inducing biomaterials,and besides the bones,other tissues such as cartilage,nerves and blood vessels were also regenerated with the assistance of biomaterials.Here,we give a brief historical recount about the discovery of the osteoinductivity of Ca-P ceramics,summarize the underlying material factors and biological characteristics,and discuss the mechanism of osteoinduction concerning protein adsorption,and the interaction with different types of cells,and the involvement of the vascular and immune systems.Zhurong Tang Xiangfeng Li Yanfei Tan Hongsong Fan Xingdong Zhang 2018Regenerative Biomaterials2018,5,1:20

3Accurate energy model for WSN node and its optimal design显示文摘With the development of CMOS and MEMS technologies, the implementation of a large number of wireless distributed micro-sensors that can be easily and rapidly deployed to form highly redundant, self-configuring, and ad hoc sensor networks. To facilitate ease of deployment, these sensors operate on battery for extended periods of time. A particular challenge in maintaining extended battery lifetime lies in achieving communications with low power. For better understanding of the design tradeoffs of wireless sensor network (WSN), a more accurate energy model for wireless sensor node is proposed, and an optimal design method of energy effcient wireless sensor node is described as well. Different from power models ever shown which assume the power cost of each component in WSN node is constant, the new one takes into account the energy dissipation of circuits in practical physical layer. It shows that there are some parameters, such as data rate, carrier frequency, bandwidth, Tsw, etc, which have a significant effect on the WSN node energy consumption per useful bit (EPUB). 4Longitudinal study of a community hospital integrated model for diabetes management in the Beijing Jingsong community显示文摘Objective:To determine the effects of a community hospital integrated model on the longitu-dinal management of diabetic patients.Methods:Four hundred forty-one patients with type 2 diabetes residing in Jingsong Commu-nity were randomly assigned to intensive and standard groups.Metabolic parameters were meas-ured in the two groups at baseline and after 36 months of management to compare the rate of goal achievement.Results:After comprehensive management,the overall control rate in the intensive group was increased from 2.7%to 9.6%compared with 2.3%-4.5%in the standard group.Specifically,the control rates for fasting plasma glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin,and blood pressure in the intensive group were significantly increased from 54.1%,40.0%,and 68.2%to 85.5%,74.6%,and 89.1%,respectively.The control rate for glycosylated hemoglobin in the intensive group was significantly higher than the standard group after 36 months of treatment.Conclusion:The community hospital integrated model for longitudinal management effec-tively improved the control rate of glycosylated hemoglobin and the overall control rate in patients with type 2 diabetes.Jiandong Zhang Ning Zhuang Mingxia Yuan Lijuan Gao Chuan Bian Huaining Chen Qing Chi Suqing Hui Guiying Li Yanli Su Hongsong Bao Gang Wan Guangran Yang Shenyuan Yuan 2014Family Medicine and Community Health2014,2,1:7
5Phylogeny and evolutionary history of the silkworm显示文摘The silkworm,Bombyx mori,played an important role in the old Silk Road that connected ancient Asia and Europe.However,to date,there have been few studies of the origins and domestication of this species using molecular methods.In this study,DNA sequences of mitochondrial and nuclear loci were used to infer the phylogeny and evolutionary history of the domesticated silkworm and its relatives.All of the phylogenetic analyses indicated a close relationship between the domesticated silkworm and the Chinese wild silkworm.Domestication was estimated to have occurred about 4100 years ago(ya),and the radiation of the different geographic strains of B.mori about 2000 ya.The Chinese wild silkworm and the Japanese wild silkworm split about 23600 ya.These estimates are in good agreement with the fossil evidence and historical records.In addition,we show that the domesticated silkworm experienced a population expansion around 1000 ya.The divergence times and the population dynamics of silkworms presented in this study will be useful for studies of lepidopteran phylogenetics,in the genetic analysis of domestic animals,and for understanding the spread of human civilizations.SUN Wei YU HongSong SHEN YiHong BANNO Yutaka XIANG ZhongHuai ZHANG Ze 2012Science China(Life Sciences)2012,55,6:6
6Social engineering in cybersecurity:a domain ontology and knowledge graph application examples显示文摘Social engineering has posed a serious threat to cyberspace security.To protect against social engineering attacks,a fundamental work is to know what constitutes social engineering.This paper first develops a domain ontology of social engineering in cybersecurity and conducts ontology evaluation by its knowledge graph application.The domain ontology defines 11 concepts of core entities that significantly constitute or affect social engineering domain,together with 22 kinds of relations describing how these entities related to each other.It provides a formal and explicit knowledge schema to understand,analyze,reuse and share domain knowledge of social engineering.Furthermore,this paper builds a knowledge graph based on 15 social engineering attack incidents and scenarios.7 knowledge graph application examples(in 6 analysis patterns)demonstrate that the ontology together with knowledge graph is useful to 1)understand and analyze social engineering attack scenario and incident,2)find the top ranked social engineering threat elements(e.g.the most exploited human vulnerabilities and most used attack mediums),3)find potential social engineering threats to victims,4)find potential targets for social engineering attackers,5)find potential attack paths from specific attacker to specific target,and 6)analyze the same origin attacks.Zuoguang Wang Hongsong Zhu Peipei Liu Limin Sun 2021Cybersecurity2021,4,1:4
7Thermophysical properties of Sm_2(Zr_(1-x)Ce_x)_2O_7 ceramics显示文摘Sm2(Zr1-xCex)2O7 (x=0.1, 0.2, and 0.3) ceramics were prepared by solid reaction method at 1600°C for 10 h using Sm2O3, ZrO2, and CeO2 as starting reactants. The phase compositions, microstructures, thermal expansion coefficients, and partial thermal conductivities of these materials were investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) results reveal that Sm2(Zr0.9Ce0.1)2O7 with pyrochlore structure and Sm2(Zr1-xCex)2O7 (x=0.2 and 0.3) with fluorite structure were synthesized, and scanning electrical microscopy (SEM) images show that the microstructures of these products are very dense. The linear thermal expansion coefficients increase with increasing temperature in the temperature range from ambient to 1200°C, and the thermal expansion coefficients increase with increasing content of doped CeO2. The thermal conductivities of Sm2(Zr0.8Ce0.2)2O7 and Sm2(Zr0.7Ce0.3)2O7 decrease gradually with an increase in temperature. 8A Real-Time Photo-Realistic Rendering Algorithm of Ocean Color Based on Bio-Optical Model显示文摘A real-time photo-realistic rendering algorithm of ocean color is introduced in the paper, which considers the impact of ocean bio-optical model. The ocean bio-optical model mainly involves the phytoplankton, colored dissolved organic material(CDOM), inorganic suspended particle, etc., which have different contributions to absorption and scattering of light. We decompose the emergent light of the ocean surface into the reflected light from the sun and the sky, and the subsurface scattering light. We establish an ocean surface transmission model based on ocean bidirectional reflectance distribution function(BRDF) and the Fresnel law, and this model's outputs would be the incident light parameters of subsurface scattering. Using ocean subsurface scattering algorithm combined with bio-optical model, we compute the scattering light emergent radiation in different directions. Then, we blend the reflection of sunlight and sky light to implement the real-time ocean color rendering in graphics processing unit(GPU). 9Comparison of woody species composition between rocky outcrops and nearby matrix vegetation on degraded karst hillslopes of Southwest China显示文摘Habitats with different features such as soil depth and soil/rock conditions can provide favorable environments for species with different requirements, while anthropogenic disturbances normally exert additional effects on species composition. However, specific studies have rarely been conducted in the degraded karst regions of Southwest China despite the high heterogeneity of karst habitats and past human disturbances. In this study, woody species richness and composition on rocky outcrops on a typical karst hillslope were investigated and compared with those of nearby matrices on shallow and rocky soil. Our results showed that matrix vegetation was more diverse in genera and species than vegetation on rocky outcrops. This might relate to the contrasting substrate features and different disturbance histories of these two habitats. Unlike the significant effect of slope on species richness of the matrix vegetation, rocky outcrops exhibited no significant differences between upper and lower slope positions, largely because their microhabitats were similar in different slope positions. Although the study area has been reforested naturally for about 30 years, woody species of the matrix vegetation were still dominated by pioneer shrub species. Rocky outcrops were dominated by late-successional tree species, which was primarily related to their isolated features and resistance to certain disturbances. Most of these late-successional species were not habitat endemics, indicating the possibility for their encroachment into surrounding the matrix. 12Wet-spinning fabrication of shear-patterned alginate hydrogel microfibers and the guidance of cell alignment显示文摘Native tissue is naturally comprised of highly-ordered cell-matrix assemblies in a multi-hierarchical way,and the nano/submicron alignment of fibrous matrix is found to be significant in supporting cellular functionalization.In this study,a self-designed wet-spinning device appended with a rotary receiving pool was used to continuously produce shear-patterned hydrogel microfibers with aligned submicron topography.The process that the flow-induced shear force reshapes the surface of hydrogel fiber into aligned submicron topography was systematically analysed.Afterwards,the effect of fiber topography on cellular longitudinal spread and elongation was investigated by culturing rat neuron-like PC12 cells and human osteosarcoma MG63 cells with the spun hydrogel microfibers,respectively.The results suggested that the stronger shear flow force would lead to more distinct aligned submicron topography on fiber surface,which could induce cell orientation along with fiber axis and therefore form the cell-matrix dual-alignment.Finally,a multi-hierarchical tissue-like structure constructed by dual-oriented cell-matrix assemblies was fabricated based on this wet-spinning method.This work is believed to be a potentially novel biofabrication scheme for bottom-up constructing of engineered linear tissue,such as nerve bundle,cortical bone,muscle and hepatic cord.You Yang Jing Sun Xiaolu Liu Zhenzhen Guo Yunhu He Dan Wei Meiling Zhong Likun Guo Hongsong Fan Xingdong Zhang 2017Regenerative Biomaterials2017,4,5:2
13The effect of collagen hydrogels on chondrocyte behaviors through restricting the contraction of cell/hydrogel constructs显示文摘Collagen is a promising material for tissue engineering,but the poor mechanical properties of collagen hydrogels,which tend to cause contraction under the action of cellular activity,make its application challengeable.In this study,the amino group of type I collagen(Col I)was modified with methacrylic anhydride(MA)and the photo-crosslinkable methacrylate anhydride modified type I collagen(CM)with three different degrees of substitution(DS)was prepared.The physical properties of CM and Col I hydrogels were tested,including micromorphology,mechanical properties and degradation properties.The results showed that the storage modulus and degradation rate of hydrogels could be adjusted by changing the DS of CM.In vitro,chondrocytes were seeded into these four groups of hydrogels and subjected to fluorescein diacetate/propidium iodide(FDA/PI)staining,cell counting kit-8(CCK-8)test,histological staining and cartilage-related gene expression analysis.In vivo,these hydrogels encapsulating chondrocytes were implanted subcutaneously into nude mice,then histological staining and sulfated glycosaminoglycan(sGAG)/DNA assays were performed.The results demonstrated that contraction of hydrogels affected behaviors of chondrocytes,and CM hydrogels with suitable DS could resist contraction of hydrogels and promote the secretion of cartilage-specific matrix in vitro and in vivo.Longpeng Dong Qingli Liu Yongli Gao Hengxing Jia Wenling Dai Likun Guo Hongsong Fan Yujiang Fan Xingdong Zhang 2021Regenerative Biomaterials2021,8,4:2

18Directional terahertz holography with thermally active Janus metasurface显示文摘Dynamic manipulation of electromagnetic(EM)waves with multiple degrees of freedom plays an essential role in enhancing information processing.Currently,an enormous challenge is to realize directional terahertz(THz)holography.Recently,it was demonstrated that Janus metasurfaces could produce distinct responses to EM waves from two opposite incident directions,making multiplexed dynamic manipulation of THz waves possible.Herein,we show that thermally activated THz Janus metasurfaces integrating with phase change materials on the meta-atoms can produce asymmetric transmission with the designed phase delays.Such reconfigurable Janus metasurfaces can achieve asymmetric focusing of THz wave and directional THz holography with free-space image projections,and particularly the information can be manipulated via temperature and incident THz wave direction.This work not only offers a common strategy for realizing the reconfigurability of Janus metasurfaces,but also shows possible applications in THz optical information encryption,data storage,and smart windows.Benwen Chen Shengxin Yang Jian Chen Jingbo Wu Ke Chen Weili Li Yihui Tan Zhaosong Wang Hongsong Qiu Kebin Fan Caihong Zhang Huabing Wang Yijun Feng Yunbin He Biaobing Jin Xinglong Wu Jian Chen Peiheng Wu 2023Light(Science & Applications)2023,12,6:1
