1Therapeutic targets of Traditional Chinese Medicine for colorectal cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To explore the role of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) in the prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer and identify possible therapeutic targets of TCM to provide clues for the use of TCM for colorectal cancer prevention and treatment in the clinic and to find novel directions for new drug discovery for colorectal cancer.METHODS: We used Pub Med and Google to search for and collect scientific publications for a full evaluation of current evidence in the literature indicating the potential role of Chinese herbal medicines and their respective ingredients as effective candidatesforcolorectalcancerpreventionandtreatment.RESULTS: We extracted a detailed description of potential therapeutic Chinese herbal medicines and their constituent ingredients that target different mechanisms in colorectal cancer such as gene mutation, dysregulation of signaling pathways, metabolism disorders, and the inflammatory microenvironment, including both conventional and non-conventional approaches.CONCLUSION: TCM may be a promising complementary and alternative therapy for the treatment of colorectal cancer.Li Weidong Li Chunsheng Zheng Honggang Chen Guohong Hua Baojin 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2:14
2Effect of a modified Banxia Xiexin decoction plus chemotherapy on stage Ⅲ colon cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of a modified Banxia Xiexin decoction(MBXD) plus chemotherapy on postoperative adverse reaction in patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer in patients whose symptoms were identified as cold-heat complicated pattern in terms of the theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).METHODS: A prospective non-randomized control study of patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer in Beijing Shijitan Hospital and Guang'anmen Hospital between January 2012 and December 2013. A total of 80 patients were divided into experimental group(MBXD + chemotherapy) and control group(chemotherapy). The adverse reactions, life quality and disease-free survival(DFS) were compared between the two groups.RESULTS: The cold-heat complex pattern was released in 94.3% of patients in experimental group whereas 62.2% in control group(P < 0.05). Life quality was improved in 24 vs 14 cases, stabilized in 9 vs14 cases whereas decreased in 2 vs 15 cases in experimental group and control group, respectively(P < 0.05). The average DFS was 22.371 months in experimental group, while 13.932 months in control group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: MBXD combined with chemotherapy may significantly relieve clinical symptoms, reduce chemotherapy associated adverse effects, improve life quality, and prolong DFS of patients with stage Ⅲ colon cancer(cold-heat complicated pattern).Li Kai Liu Rui Xu Guangzhong Zhang Weihua Liu Chen Zhu Bin Hua Baojin Feng Xingzhong 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2019,39,2:6
3中医扶正在肿瘤防治中的作用与地位(英文)显示文摘Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) treatment of cancer has a long history, and is an important part of cancer prevention and control in China. Fuzheng, also called reinforcing healthy qi and supplementing the root, is the most fundamental principle of TCM in cancer prevention and control. In recent decades, this treatment has been thoroughly studied and widely applied, and played a crucial role in cancer prevention and treatment. With regard to the treatment of malignant tumors, Chinese medicine is mainly used in the following areas: improving symptoms, enhancing the quality of life, reducing postoperative recurrence and metastasis, increasing efficacy and decreasing toxicity together with radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments, and to some extent prolonging the survival of advanced tumors.Conghuang Li Baojin Hua 2014The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2014,13,4:1
