1Environmental factors influencing the distribution of total and fecal coliform bacteria in six water storage reservoirs in the Pearl River Delta Region,China显示文摘The Pearl River Delta (PRD) is one of the most developed and densely populated regions in China.Quantifying the amount of pathogens in the source of drinking water is important for improving water quality.We collected water samples from six major water storage reservoirs in the PRD region in both wet and dry seasons in 2006.Results showed that external environmental factors,such as precipitation,location,as well as the internal environmental factors,i.e.,physicochemical properties of the water,were closely related with the distribution of coliforms.Seasonally,the coliform bacterial concentrations in wet season were one to two orders of magnitude greater than those in dry season.Spatially,coliform bacterial levels in reservoirs near urban and industrial areas were significantly higher (p < 0.05) than those in remote areas.Correlation analyses showed that the levels of coliforms had close relationships with pH,temperature,suspended solid,organic and inorganic nutrients in water.Principal components analysis further demonstrated that total coliforms in the reservoirs were closely related with water physicochemical properties,while fecal coliforms were more associated with external input brought in by seasonal runoff.Huachang Hong Jianwen Qiu Yan Liang 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:9
2Growth Characteristics and Kinetics of Niobium Carbide Coating Obtained on AISI 52100 by Thermal-reactive Diffusion Technique显示文摘Niobium carbide coating was produced by thermal-reactive diffusion technique on AISI 52100 steel in salt bath at 1 123 K, 1 173 K, and 1 223 K for 1, 2, 4, and 6 hours. The salt consisted of borax, sodium fl uoride, boron carbide, and niobium pentoxide. The presence of NbC phase on the steel surface was confi rmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. Microscopic observation showed that niobium carbide coating formed on the substrate was smooth and compact. There was a distinct and fl at interface between the coating and substrate. The micro-hardness of niobium carbide coating was 2892±145HV. The thickness of coating ranged from 1.6 μm to 14μm. The forming kinetics of niobium carbide coating was revealed. Moreover, a contour diagram derived from experimental data was graphed for correct selection of process parameters. Some mathematical equations were built for predicting the coating thickness with predetermined processing temperature and time. 3A design study on the CSNS LEBT pre-chopper显示文摘The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) front end incorporates a pre-chopper in the Low Energy Beam Transport line (LEBT) that will remove a 530 ns section of beam at approximately 1 MHz rate, which is the RF frequency of the ring at injection. It's one of the most critical devices for properly controlling the injecting beam loss. Physical designing of the pre-chopper is carried out, and the RFQ itself is used as the beam dump of the chopper system. In order to examine the reliability of the pre-chopper design, the beam study of a similar chopper system is successfully performed. 4Fatty acids and algal lipids as precursors of chlorination by-products显示文摘Six common algal fatty acids (FAs) with different numbers of double bonds, lipophilic fractions and proteins extracted from the diatom Navicula pelliculosa and algal cells were chlorinated to evaluate their potential in generating disinfection by-products (DBPs). The result showed that the more double bonds in the FAs, the higher the amounts of chloroform and dichloroacetic acid (DCAA) produced, but such a pattern was not observed for trichloroacetic acid (TCAA). Based on the previously reported composition of fatty acids in algal lipids, the DBP generation potentials of algal lipids were calculated. These predicted values were much lower than those measured in the chlorinated algal lipophilic fraction, suggesting unknown lipophilic fraction(s) served as potent DBPs precursors. Another calculation attempted to predict DBP production in algal cells based on algal lipid and protein composition, given quantified measured DBP production per unit algal lipid and proteins. 5Carbide Coating Preparation of Hot Forging Die by Plasma Processing显示文摘To meet the performance requirements of hot forging die heat resistant layer, the Ni60-SiC coating, Ni60-Cr3C2 coating, and Ni60-WC coating were prepared using W6Mo5Cr4V2 as substrate material with 30%SiC, 10%Cr3C2, 30%WC powder by means of plasma spraying and plasma spray re-melting and plasma spray welding, respectively. Microstructure of each carbide coating was analyzed, micro-hardness was tested, and mainly thermal parameters of coating were detected. 20Mechanical design of a low β superconducting elliptical cavity for CSNS-II显示文摘Background A lowβsuperconducting elliptical cavity was designed for the China Spallation Neutron Source phase II project(CSNS-II).Methods The method to improve the mechanical stability of the lowβsuperconducting elliptical cavity was introduced,and the corresponding mechanical design was given.The software COMSOL Multiphysics and ANSYS APDL were used to calculate the static Lorentz force detuning factor k_(L)(LFD)and the helium pressure sensitivity factor k_(p)(DFDP)of the bare cavity,which were−4.71 Hz(MV/m)^(−2) and−21.1 Hz/mbar,respectively.The double-ring stiffeners reinforcement scheme was adopted.Results The radii of the double-ring stiffeners were 70 and 135 mm,respectively.The structure design of the helium vessel of the cavity was given.The following is the mechanical parameters of the reinforced cavity,the tuning sensitivity is 199.8 kHz/mm,longitudinal stiffness is 4.76kN/mm,k_(L) and k_(p) were−1.39 Hz(MV/m)^(−2) and 4.67 Hz/mbar,respectively,which met the operating requirements.The tuning sensitivity and stiffness of the reinforced cavity with different wall thicknesses were optimized,and the final wall thickness was selected as 4 mm.Conclusion The mechanical design of CSNS-II 648 MHz five-cell lowβsuperconducting elliptical cavity was introduced systematically in the paper.The LFD,DFDP,and the maximum surface stress of the cavity were reduced by optimizing the cavity wall thickness and the position of the double-ring stiffeners.The reinforced cavity met operational requirements.Peihua Qu Huachang Liu Yun Wang Bo Li Xiaolei Wu Ahong Li Mengxu Fan Qiang Chen Jun Peng 2021Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2021,5,3:0
