1Host Interferon-Stimulated Gene 20 Inhibits Pseudorabies Virus Proliferation显示文摘Host interferon-stimulated gene 20(ISG20)exerts antiviral effects on viruses by degrading viral RNA or by enhancing IFN signaling.Here,we examined the role of ISG20 during pseudorabies virus(PRV)proliferation.We found that ISG20 modulates PRV replication by enhancing IFN signaling.Further,ISG20 expression was upregulated following PRV infection and poly(I:C)treatment.Ectopic expression of ISG20 inhibited PRV proliferation in PK15 cells,whereas knockdown of ISG20 promoted PRV proliferation.In addition,ISG20 expression upregulated IFN-βexpression and enhanced IFN downstream signaling during PRV infection.Notably,PRV UL24 suppressed the transcription of ISG20,thus antagonizing its antiviral effect.Further domain mapping analysis showed that the N terminus(amino acids 1-90)of UL24 was responsible for the inhibition of ISG20 transcription.Collectively,these findings characterize the role of ISG20 in suppressing PRV replication and increase the understanding of host-PRV interplay.Xiaoyong Chen Dage Sun Sujie Dong Huanjie Zhai Ning Kong Hao Zheng Wu Tong Guoxin Li Tongling Shan Guangzhi Tong 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,5:4
2Influences of alternate partial root-zone irrigation and urea rate on water-and nitrogen-use efficiencies in tomato显示文摘Traditional water and fertilizer inputs are often much higher than the actual demands of tomato,which causes a reduction in water-and fertilizer-use efficiencies.To investigate the advantage of alternate partial root-zone irrigation(AI)on water-and nitrogen(N)-use efficiencies of tomato modified by water and N management,taking conventional irrigation(CI)as the control,the effects of AI on root morphology and activity,fruit yield and water and N use efficiency were studied using pot experiments.There were four combinations of irrigation levels and growing stages of tomato for AI,i.e.AI_(1)(high water(W_(H))from blooming to harvest stage(BHS)),AI_(2)(W_(H)from blooming to fruit setting stage(BFS)and low water(W_(L))at the harvest stage(HS)),AI_(3)(W_(L)at BFS and W_(H)at HS)and AI_(4)(W_(L)at BHS)at three urea rates,i.e.low urea rate(NL),middle urea rate(N_(M))and high urea rate(N_(H))in the form of urea.Irrigation quotas for W_(H)and W_(L)in AI at BFS or HS were 80%and 60%of that in CI,respectively.Compared to CI,AI decreased water consumption by 16.0%-33.1%and increased water use efficiency of yield(WUE_(y))and dry mass(WUE_(d))by 6.7%-11.9%and 10.2%-15.9%,respectively.AI_(1)did not decline yield,total N uptake(TNU)and N use efficiency(NUE)significantly.Compared to NL,N_(M)enhanced tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 28.5%,35.3%,22.6%and 16.3%,respectively.Compared to CINL,AI_(1)N_(M)reduced water consumption by 12.5%,but increased tomato yield,TNU,WUE_(y)and WUE_(d)by 35.5%,58.4%,54.4%and 53.7%,respectively.Therefore,AI_(1)can improve water use efficiency and total N uptake of tomato simultaneously at medium urea rate.Liu Xiaogang Li Fusheng Zhang Fucang Cai Huanjie Yang Qiliang 2017International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2017,10,6:4
3On-chip chalcogenide microresonators with low-threshold parametric oscillation显示文摘Chalcogenide glass (ChG) is an attractive material for highly efficient nonlinear photonics,which can cover an ultrabroadband wavelength window from the near-visible to the footprint infrared region. However,it remains a challenge to implement highly-efficient and low-threshold optical parametric processes in chip-scale ChG devices due to thermal and light-induced instabilities as well as a high-loss factor in ChG films. Here,we develop a systematic fabrication process for high-performance photonic-chip-integrated ChG devices,by which planarintegrated ChG microresonators with an intrinsic quality (Q) factor above 1 million are demonstrated. In particular,an in situ light-induced annealing method is introduced to overcome the longstanding instability underlying ChG film. In high-Q ChG microresonators,optical parametric oscillations with threshold power as low as 5.4 mW are demonstrated for the first time,to our best knowledge. 4Reciprocal activation ofα5-nAChR and STAT3 in nicotine-induced human lung cancer cell proliferation显示文摘Cigarette smoking is the top environmental risk factor for lung cancer.Nicotine,the addictive component of cigarettes,induces lung cancer cell proliferation,invasion and migration via the activation of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors(nAChRs).Genome-wide association studies(GWAS)show that CHRNA5 gene encoding a5-nAChR is especially relevant to lung cancer.However,the mechanism of this subunit in lung cancer is not clear.In the present study,we demonstrate that the expression of a5-nAChR is correlated with phosphorylated STAT3(pSTAT3)expression,smoking history and lower survival of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)samples.Nicotine increased the levels of a5-nAChR mRNA and protein in NSCLC celllinesandactivatedtheJAK2/STAT3 signaling cascade.Nicotine-induced activation of JAK2/STAT3signaling was inhibited by the silencing of a5-nAChR.Characterization of the CHRNA5 promoter revealed four STAT3-response elements.ChIP assays confirmed that the CHRNA5 promoter contains STAT3 binding sites.BysilencingSTAT3 expression,nicotine-induced upregulation of a5-nAChR was suppressed.Downregulation of a5-nAChR and/or STAT3 expression inhibited nicotine-induced lung cancer cell proliferation.These results suggest that there is a feedback loop between a5-nAChR and STAT3 that contributestothenicotine-inducedtumor cell proliferation,which indicates that a5-nAChR is an important therapeutic target involved in tobacco-associated lung carcinogenesis.Yao Zhang Yanfei Jia Ping Li Huanjie li Dongjie Xiao YunshanWang Xiaoli Ma 2017Journal of Genetics and Genomics2017,44,7:3

7A Dynamic Model for Simulating Atmospheric, Surface and Soil Water interactions in Hillslope of Loess Area Under Natural Conditions and Its Application显示文摘The mechanism of atmospheric, surface and soil water interactions (water transformation) in hillslope under natural conditions was analyzed, and a dynamic model was developed to simulate infiltration, overland flow and soil water movement during natural rainfall in hillslope, by bringing forward concepts such. as rainfall intensity on slope and a correction coefficient of saturated soil water content for soil surface seal. Some factors, including slope angle, slope orientation and raindrop inclination, which affect the rainfall amount on slope, were taken into account while developing the dynamic model. The effect of surface seal on infiltration and water balance under a boundary condition of the second kind was also considered. 13Construction of the Disciplinary,Academic,and Discourse Systems in the Contemporary Chinese Philosophy of Science and Technology:Retrospect and Prospect显示文摘A review of the decades of research shows that Chinese philosophy of science and technology,on the strength of carrying forward traditions and blazing new trails,has made progress in the construction of discipline system and development of institutions,teaching materials and periodicals,with deepening the discussion on discipline orientation.In academic system construction,driven by efforts to update the academic framework and deepen research on the philosophy of nature,philosophy of science,philosophy of technology,science,technology and society,as well as other traditional fields,achievements have been made in ethical reflections on high technology,engineering ethics,big data and artificial intelligence philosophy,responsible innovation and other emerging,frontier and crosscutting fields.In the construction of discourse system,work has been done to make China’s voice heard on the international stage,excavate and elucidate the excellent traditional Chinese culture,and build disciplines with Chinese characteristics.In short,the achievements of the Chinese philosophy of science and technology have not come easily.Though a diverse and dynamic academic pattern has been formed,and wonderful and unique Chinese discourse has been created,we still face some problems.To accelerate the construction of“Three Systems”of the philosophy of science and technology with Chinese characteristics by building on existing achievements,we should carry forward the tradition of dialectics of nature and strengthen the guidance of Marxism,consolidate the foundation of philosophy and support interdisciplinary interaction and cooperation,track the frontiers of science and technology,and pay attention to the social operation of science and technology.LEI Huanjie 2022Frontiers of Philosophy in China-Selected Publications from Chinese Universities2022,17,1:1
