| 1 | Fusion tracking in color and infrared images using joint sparse representation显示文摘Currently sparse signal reconstruction gains considerable interest and is applied in many fields. In this paper, a similarity induced by joint sparse representation is designed to construct the likelihood function of particle filter tracker so that the color visual spectrum and thermal spectrum images can be fused for object tracking. The proposed fusion scheme performs joint sparse representation calculation on both modalities and the resultant tracking results are fused using min operation on the sparse representation coefficients. In addition, a co-learning approach is proposed to update the reference templates of both modality and enhance the tracking robustness. | 2 | Impending HRT wave precursors to the Wenchuan M_s8.0 earthquake and methods of earthquake impending prediction by using HRT wave显示文摘We deployed four geo-electric monitoring stations in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces from 2004, using the new generation of equipment (PS-100) and technologies to capture the HRT wave earthquake precursor. Before the Wenchuan Ms8.0 earthquake, we recorded the HRT wave precursor at the only operating station in Hongge (HG, Δ=465 km) and found that significant impending signal had been recorded at the station in the early morning ( 0―5 am) of 12th of May, 2008. The precursor for this earthquake is consistent with precursors recorded for other strong earthquakes. The measured physical properties (geo-resistivity and telluric-current) show tidal wave period oscillations from several days to several months before the earthquakes and the amplitude of such HT oscillation increases significantly towards the occurrence of an earthquake. These HT and RT waves from the epicenter have a causal relationship with the earthquakes that happened several days later. The arrival time of two RT waves is proportional to the distance from the station to the epicenter. The estimated natural decay of the amplitude is correlated with the natural period (T0) of the earthquake fault, which is proportional to the fault length. From this relationship, we can predict the earthquake magnitude. For magnitude 6―9 earthquakes, the natural period is about 1―6 hours. Such oscillation comes from the epicenter area and they can propagate several thousand kilometers in the Earth's crust. Before a strong earthquake in the shallow crust, the conductive pore fluid will experience major changes before the fault rapture. Such fluid change will emit an oscillation in the pore fluid pressure. This is the mechanism for the HRT wave generation. Since the China Earthquake Administration funded the HRT wave short-term earth-quake prediction project in 2003, the first record of HRT precursor wave has been recorded from the 2004-12-26 Sumatra Mw9.0 earthquake with the largest epicentre distance Δ=2900 km. Thereafter, we have captured HRT waves from more than twenty strong earthquakes, which are well-matched and show repeatability, consistency and regularity. All our observation with the HRT waves demonstrate that HRT wave precursors to earthquakes indeed exist. Strong earthquakes can be predicted and short-term and impending earthquake prediction is achievable in the very near future. | 3 | Microstructure Evolution and Tensile Properties of Ti_3Al/Ni-based Superalloy Welded Joint显示文摘In the present work,the dissimilar joining of a Ti_3AI-based alloy to a Ni-based superalloy was attempted by gas tungsten arc(GTA) welding technology.Sound joints were successfully achieved by using a Cu—Ni alloy as filler material.According to X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis results three transitional layers at the weld/Ti_3AI interface were verified as follows:Ti_2AINb phase dissolved with Cu and Ni;AI(Cu,Ni)_2Ti,(Cu,Ni)_2Ti and(Nb,Ti) solid solution;Cu-rich phase and a complex multi-element phase.The In718/weld interface is characterized by solid solutions of Ni,Cu,Cr,Fe and Nb.The average tensile strength of the as-welded joints at room temperature is 1 63 MPa,and after a post—weld heat treatment it is increased slightly to 177 MPa.The fracture occurred at the surfacial layer of the joined Ti_3AI base alloy,indicating that the Ti_2AINb layer dissolved with Cu and Ni is the weak link of the Ti_3AI/ln71 8 joint. | Bingqing Chen Huaping Xiong Bingbing Sun Siyi Tang Shaoqing Guo Xuejun Zhang | 2014 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2014,30,7: | 7 |
| 4 | Clinicopathological analysis of metaplastic meningioma: report of 15 cases in Huashan Hospital显示文摘Objective: Metaplastic meningioma is a rare subtype of benign meningiomas, classified as WHO grade I with well prognosis. Here we presented our experiences on 15 cases of metaplastic meningioma, to investigate the clinicopathological features, therapies and prognosis of these cases. Methods: 15 patients underwent surgical treatment for intracranial metaplastic meningioma between 2001 and 2010 at Neurosurgery Department of Huashan Hospital, Shanghai, China. The clinical data, radiological manifestation, treatment strategy, pathological findings and prognosis of all patients were analyzed retrospectively. Results: Among the 15 cases (10 males and 5 females), the age ranged from 22 to 74 years old (the mean age was 50.67-year old). The clinical manifestations include headache, dizziness, seizure attack, vision decrease, and weakness of bilateral lower limbs. All the patients received surgical treatment, combined with radiotherapy in some cases. In the follow-up period, recurrence occurred in 2 cases, of which 1 patient died of other system complications. Conclusions: Metaplastic meningiomas are characterized by focal or widespread mesenchymal differentiation with formation of bone, cartilage, fat, and xanthomatous tissue elements. Surgical removal is the optimal therapy, and the overall prognosis is well. The robotic teleoperation system utilizes interactive demonstration via the wearable device by directly controlling the speed of the motors. We present a rotation-invariant dynamicalmovement-primitive method for learning interaction skills. We also conducted robotic teleoperation demonstrations and designed imitation learning experiments. | 7 | Intraoperative ultrasound assistance in resection of intracranial meningiomas显示文摘Objective: Intracranial meningiomas, especially those located at anterior and middle skull base, are difficult to be completely resected due to their complicated anatomy structures and adjacent vessels. It's essential to locate the tumor and its vessels precisely during operation to reduce the risk of neurological deficits. The purpose of this study was to evaluate intraoperative ultrasonography in displaying intracranial meningioma and its surrounding arteries, and evaluate its potential to improve surgical precision and minimize surgical trauma. Methods: Between December 2011 and January 2013, 20 patients with anterior and middle skull base meningioma underwent surgery with the assistance of intraoperative ultrasonography in the Neurosurgery Department of Shanghai Huashan Hospital. There were 7 male and 13 female patients, aged from 31 to 66 years old. Their sonographic features were analyzed and the advantages of intraoperative ultrasonography were discussed. Results: The border of the meningioma and its adjacent vessels could be exhibited on intraoperative ultrasonography. The sonographic visualization allowed the neurosurgeon to choose an appropriate approach before the operation. In addition, intraoperative ultrasonography could inform neurosurgeons about the location of the tumor, its relation to the surrounding arteries during the operation, thus these essential arteries could be protected carefully. Conclusions: Intraoperative ultrasonography is a useful intraoperative technique. | 18 | Electroencephalogram evidence for mirror neuron activity during the observation of drawn hand motion显示文摘The present study used electroencephalography to examine mu rhythm suppression (a putative index of human mirror neuron system activation) at frontal sites (F3, Fz and F4), central sites (C3, Cz and C4), parietal sites (P3, Pz and P4) and occipital sites (O1 and O2), while subjects observed real hand motion (real hand motion condition) and illustrative depictions of hand motion (drawn hand motion condition). Experimental data revealed that mu rhythm suppression was exhibited in the mirror neuron system when subjects observed both real and drawn hand motion. Moreover, the mu rhythm recorded at the F3, Fz, F4, and Pz poles was significantly suppressed while observing both stimulus types, but no obvious mu suppression occurred at the O1, O2 and O3 poles. These results suggest that the observation of drawings of human hand actions can activate the human mirror neuron system.
