| 1 | Dynamic recrystallization behavior and microstructural evolution of Mg alloy AZ31 through high-speed rolling显示文摘High-speed rolling(HSR) is known to improve the workability of Mg alloys significantly, which makes it possible to impose a large reduction in a single pass without fracture. In the present study, dynamic recrystallization(DRX) behavior and microstructural and textural variations of Mg alloy AZ31 during a HSR process were investigated by conducting rolling with different imposed reductions in the range of 20%–80% at a high rolling speed of 470 m/min and 400?C. High-strain-rate deformation during HSR suppresses dislocation slips but promotes twinning, which results in the formation of numerous twins of several types, i.e., {10–12} extension twins, {10–11} and {10–13} contraction twins,and {10–11}–{10–12} double twins. After twinning, high strain energy is accumulated in twin bands because their crystallographic orientations are favorable for basal slips, leading to subsequent DRX at the twin bands. Accordingly, twinning activation and twinning-induced DRX behavior play crucial roles in accommodating plastic deformation during HSR and in varying microstructure and texture of the highspeed-rolled(HSRed) sheets. Area fraction of fine DRXed grains formed at the twin bands increases with increasing rolling reduction, which is attributed to the combined effects of increased strain, strain rate,and deformation temperature and a decreased critical strain for DRX. Size, internal strain, and texture intensity of the DRXed grains are smaller than those of unDRXed grains. | 2 | The role of extracellular vesicles in animal reproduction and diseases显示文摘Extracellular vesicles(EVs)are nanosized membrane-enclosed compartments that serve as messengers in cell-to-cell communication,both in normal physiology and in pathological conditions.EVs can transfer functional proteins and genetic information to alter the phenotype and function of recipient cells,which undergo different changes that positively affect their structural and functional integrity.Biological fluids are enriched with several subpopulations of EVs,including exosomes,microvesicles(MVs),and apoptotic bodies carrying several cargoes,such as lipids,proteins,and nucleic acids.EVs associated with the reproductive system are actively involved in the regulation of different physiological events,including gamete maturation,fertilization,and embryo and fetal development.EVs can influence follicle development,oocyte maturation,embryo production,and endometrial-conceptus communication.EVs loaded with cargoes are used to diagnose various diseases,including pregnancy disorders;however,these are dependent on the type of cell of origin and pathological characteristics.EV-derived microRNAs(miRNAs)and proteins in the placenta regulate inflammatory responses and trophoblast invasion through intercellular delivery in the placental microenvironment.This review presents evidence regarding the types of extracellular vesicles,and general aspects of isolation,purification,and characterization of EVs,particularly from various types of embryos.Further,we discuss EVs as mediators and messengers in reproductive biology,the effects of EVs on placentation and pregnancy disorders,the role of EVs in animal reproduction,in the male reproductive system,and mother and embryo cross-communication.In addition,we emphasize the role of microRNAs in embryo implantation and the role of EVs in reproductive and therapeutic medicine.Finally,we discuss the future perspectives of EVs in reproductive biology. | Sangiliyandi Gurunathan Min-Hee Kang Hyuk Song Nam Hyung Kim Jin-Hoi Kim | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022，13，6： | 4 |
| 3 | Involvement of heme oxygenase-1 induction in anti-vascular inflammation effects of Xanthoceras sorbifolia in human umbilical vein endothelial cells显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To define the effects of Xanthoceras sorbifolia(EXS) on vascular inflammation and the mechanisms in endothelial cells.METHODS: Vascular protective effects of an ethanol extract of seeds from EXS(1-50 μg/mL) against tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)-induced vascularinflammation were examined in human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs).RESULTS: EXS significantly decreased TNF-α-induced expression of cell adhesion molecules, such as intracellular adhesion molecule-1, vascular cell adhesion molecule-1, and endothelial cell selectin,in a dose-dependent manner. Pre-treatment with EXS significantly inhibited translocation and transcriptional activity of nuclear factor-κB(NF-κB) increased by TNF-α. EXS also significantly inhibited formation of intracellular reactive oxygen species(ROS). Moreover, the vascular protective effects of EXS were linked to up-regulation of heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) and nuclear factor E2-related factor-2(Nrf-2) expression. EXS-induced HO-1 expression was significantly decreased in SnPP(HO-1 inhibitor)-and HO-1 siRNA-treated cells, whereas an increase was found in cobalt protoporphyrin IX(CoPP)(HO-1 inducer)-treated cells. In addition, pretreatment with EXS increased HO-1 and Nrf-2 expression under TNF-α stimulation with or without N-acetyl-L-cysteine. | 5 | Risk factors for metachronous gastric carcinoma development after endoscopic resection of gastric dysplasia: Retrospective, single-center study显示文摘AIM To determine the gastric adenocarcinoma(GAC)occurrence rate and related factors,we evaluated the follow-up results of patients confirmed to have gastric dysplasia after endoscopic resection(ER).METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the medical records,endoscopic examination records,endoscopic procedure records,and histological records of 667 cases from641 patients who were followed-up for at least 12mo,from among 1273 patients who were conformed to have gastric dysplasia after Endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)or endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)of gastric mucosal lesions between January 2007and August 2013 at the Chungnam National University Hospital.RESULTS The mean follow-up period was 33.8 mo,and the median follow-up period was 29 mo(range:12-87).During the follow-up period,the occurrence of metachronous GAC was 4.0%(27/667).The mean and median interval periods between the occurrence of metachronous GAC and endoscopic treatment of gastric dysplasia were 36.3 and 34 mo,respectively(range:16-71).The factors related to metachronous GAC occurrence after ER for gastric dysplasia were male sex(5.3%vs 1.0%),open-type atrophic gastritis(9.5%vs3.4%),intestinal metaplasia(6.8%vs 2.4%),and highgrade dysplasia(HGD;8.4%vs 3.2%).Among them,male sex[OR:5.05(1.18-21.68),P=0.029],intestinal metaplasia[OR:2.78(1.24-6.23),P=0.013],and HGD[OR:2.70(1.16-6.26),P=0.021]were independent related factors in multivariate analysis.Furthermore,24of 27 GAC cases(88.9%)occurred at sites other than the previous resection sites,and 3(11.1%)occurred at the same site as the previous resection site.CONCLUSION Male sex,intestinal metaplasia,and HGD were significantly related to the occurrence of metachronous GAC after ER of gastric dysplasia,and most GACs occurred at sites other than the previous resection sites. | Hee Seok Moon Gee Young Yun Ju Seok Kim Hyuk Soo Eun Sun Hyung Kang Jae Kyu Sung Hyun Yong Jeong Kyu-Sang Song | 2017 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2017，23，24： | 3 |

| 8 | A case of hypereosinophilic syndrome presenting with intractable gastric ulcers显示文摘We report a rare case of hypereosinophilic syndrome(HES)presenting with intractable gastric ulcers.A 71-year-old man was admitted with epigastric pain.Initial endoscopic findings revealed multiple,active gastric ulcers in the gastric antrum.He underwent Helicobacter pylori(H pylori)eradication therapy followed by proton pump inhibitor(PPI)therapy.However,follow-up endoscopy at 4,6,10 and 14 mo revealed persistent multiple gastric ulcers without significant improvement.The proportion of his eosinophil count increased to 43%(total count:7903/mm 3).Abdominal-pelvic and chest computed tomography scans showed multiple small nodules in the liver and both lungs.The endoscopic biopsy specimen taken from the gastric antrum revealed prominent eosinophilic infiltration,and the liver biopsy specimen also showed eosinophilic infiltration in the portal tract and sinusoid.A bone marrow biopsy disclosed eosinophilic hyperplasia as well as increased cellularity of 70%.The patient was finally diagnosed with HES involving the stomach,liver,lung,and bone marrow.When gastric ulcers do not improve despite H pylori eradication and prolonged PPI therapy,infiltrative gastric disorders such as HES should be considered. | Tae Young Park Chang Hwan Choi Suh Yoon Yang InSoo Oh In-Do Song Hyun Woong Lee Hyung Joon Kim Jae Hyuk Do Sae Kyung Chang Ah Ra Cho Young Joo Cha | 2009 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2009，15，48： | 2 |

| 10 | Occult gastric cancer with distant metastasis proven by random gastric biopsy显示文摘Krukenberg tumor, a rare metastatic ovarian tumor arising from gastrointestinal adenocarcinoma mainly, tends to occur in premenopausal females. Finding the origin of a Krukenberg tumor is crucial for determining prognosis. In Eastern countries, the most common origin of Krukenberg tumor is stomach cancer, which is generally diagnosed via endoscopic biopsy to investigate an abnormal mucosal lesion. Here, we describe a case of huge adnexal mass in a 33-year-old woman who presented with abdominal distension. Two independent endoscopic examinations performed by experts in two tertiary university hospitals revealed no abnormal mucosal lesion. The patient was diagnosed with a Krukenberg tumor according to findings from random endoscopic biopsies taken from normal-looking gastric mucosa in our hospital. It is very rare to be diagnosed via a random biopsy in cases where three well-trained endoscopists had not found any mucosal lesion previously.
