| 4 | Pharmacological insights into Chukrasia velutina bark:Experimental and computer-aided approaches显示文摘Background:Chukrasia velutina is an enthnomedicinally used plant reported to have significant medicinal values.The present study aimed to explore the pharmacological activities of bark methanol extract using in vitro,in vivo and in silico models.Methods:The study was designed to investigate the pharmacological effects of methanol extract of Chukrasia velutina bark(MECVB)through in vitro,in vivo and in silico assays.Analgesic activity was tested using formalin-i nduced nociception and acetic acid-i nduced writhing assays while the antipyretic effect was tested using yeast-i nduced hyperthermia in mice model.The antioxidant effect was tested using the DPPH and reducing power assay and the cytotoxic screening was tested using the brine shrimp lethality bioassay.In addition,in silico studies were conducted using computer aided methods.Results:In the acetic acid-i nduced writhing assay,the extract showed 28.36%and 56.16%inhibition of writhing for doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg,respectively.Moreover,a dose-dependent formalin-i nduced licking response was observed in both early and late phase.In yeast-i nduced pyrexia,the MECVB exhibited(p<0.05)antipyretic effect.The extract demonstrated an ICvalue of 78.86μg/ml compared with ascorbic acid(IC23.53μg/ml)in the DPPH scavenging assay.The compounds sitosterol,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin were seen be effective in molecular docking scores against COX-I(2OYE),COX-II(6COX)and human peroxiredoxin 5(1HD2).In ADME/T analysis,5,7-dimethoxycoumarin and scopoletin satisfied Lipinski’s rule of five and thus are potential drug candidates.Conclusion:The bark of Chukrasia velutina showed significant analgesic and antipyretic properties and is a potential source of natural anti-oxidative agents. | Israt Jahan Shahenur Alam Sakib Najmul Alam Mohuya Majumder Sanjida Sharmin A.S.M.Ali Reza | 2022 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2022,5,4: | 0 |
| 5 | Laboratory-and Field-Phenotyping for Drought Stress Tolerance and Diversity Study in Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.)显示文摘Drought susceptibility and low genetic variability are the major constraints of lentil(Lens culinaris Medik.)production worldwide.Development of an efficient pre-field drought phenotyping technique and identification of diversified drought tolerant lentil genotype(s)are therefore vital and necessary.Two separate experiments were conducted using thirty diverse lentil genotypes to isolate drought tolerant genotype(s)as well as to assess their diversity.In both of the experiments,significant(p≤0.01)variation in genotype(G),treatment(T)and G X T was observed for most of the studied traits.In experiment I,genotypes were examined for drought tolerance at the seedlings stage under hydroponic conditions by assessing root and shoot traits.Among the 30 genotypes studied,BM-1247,BM-1227 and BM-502 were selected as highly tolerant to drought stress as they showed maximum seedling survivability and minimum reduction in growth parameters under drought stress.In experiment II,the genotypes were assayed for diversity and drought stress tolerance based on morphological traits grown under field condition.Drought stress caused a substantial reduction in yield attributing traits,however,the genotypes BM-1247,BM-981,BM-1227 and BM-502 were categorized as drought tolerant genotypes with less than 20%yield reduction.The field screening result of drought stress tolerance was coincided well with the results of laboratory screening.Genetic divergence study reflected the presence of considerable diversity among the genotypes.Considering laboratory and field screening results,the genotypes,BM-1247,BM-1227,BM-981 and BM-502 were selected as the best drought tolerant genotypes.This information can be exploited for further breeding in developing drought tolerance in lentil. | Shahida Akter Israt Jahan MdAmir Hossain Mohammad Anwar Hossain | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,3: | 0 |
| 6 | The Dynamic Mortise-and-Tenon Interlock Assists Hydrated Soft Robots Toward Off-Road Locomotion显示文摘Natural locomotion such as walking,crawling,and swimming relies on spatially controlled deformation of soft tissues,which could allow efficient interaction with the external environment.As one of the ideal candidates for biomimetic materials,hydrogels can exhibit versatile bionic morphings.However,it remains an enormous challenge to transfer these insitu deformations to locomotion,particularly above complex terrains.Herein,inspired by the crawling mode of inchworms,an isotropic hydrogel with thermoresponsiveness could evolve to an anisotropic hydrogel actuator via interfacial diffusion polymerization,further evolving to multisection structure and exhibiting adaptive deformation with diverse degrees of freedom.Therefore,a dynamic mortise-and-tenon interlock could be generated through the interaction between the self-deformation of the hydrogel actuator and rough terrains,inducing continual multidimensional locomotion on various artificial rough substrates and natural sandy terrain.Interestingly,benefiting from the powerful mechanical energy transfer capability,the crawlable hydrogel actuators could also be utilized as hydrogel motors to activate static cargos to overstep complex terrains,which exhibit the potential application of a biomimetic mechanical discoloration device.Therefore,we believe that this design principle and control strategy may be of potential interest to the field of deformable materials,soft robots,and biomimetic devices. | Baoyi Wu Yaoting Xue Israt Ali Huanhuan Lu Yuming Yang Xuxu Yang Wei Lu Yinfei Zheng Tao Chen | 2023 | Research2023,,1: | 0 |
