| 1 | Pressure Wave and Fluid Velocity in a Bend-Mode Inkjet Nozzle with Double PZT Actuators显示文摘A new concept of bend-mode inkjet nozzle with double PZT (lead zirconate titanate) actuators has been designed and fabricated in the present study. Then the pressure wave and fluid velocity at the nozzle exit have been investigated. The complex pressure behavior inside the channel was solved numerically based on the narrow channel acoustic theory. The two PZTs attached to a rectangular channel were actuated sequentially by setting the waveforms of each PZT to be center-aligned with various pulse widths. As a result, the double PZT actuation is superior to the single PZT actuation in view of strong momentum force and fast dissipation of residual pressure. The maximum fluid velocity at the nozzle exit is observed when the respective pulse widths equal to their optimum pulse widths. | 12 | Recurrent Autoencoder Ensembles for Brake Operating Unit Anomaly Detection on Metro Vehicles显示文摘The anomaly detection of the brake operating unit (BOU) in thebrake systems on metro vehicle is critical for the safety and reliability ofthe trains. On the other hand, current periodic inspection and maintenanceare unable to detect anomalies in an early stage. Also, building an accurateand stable system for detecting anomalies is extremely difficult. Therefore,we present an efficient model that use an ensemble of recurrent autoencodersto accurately detect the BOU abnormalities of metro trains. This is the firstproposal to employ an ensemble deep learning technique to detect BOUabnormalities in metro train braking systems. One of the anomalous caseson metro vehicles is the case when the air cylinder (AC) pressures are less thanthe brake cylinder (BC) pressures in certain parts where the brake pressuresincrease before coming to a halt. Hence, in this work, we first extract the dataof BC and AC pressures. Then, the extracted data of BC and AC pressuresare divided into multiple subsequences that are used as an input for bothbi-directional long short-term memory (biLSTM) and bi-directional gatedrecurrent unit (biGRU) autoencoders. The biLSTM and biGRU autoencodersare trained using training dataset that only contains normal subsequences. Fordetecting abnormalities from test dataset which consists of abnormal subsequences, the mean absolute errors (MAEs) between original subsequences andreconstructed subsequences from both biLSTM and biGRU autoencoders arecalculated. As an ensemble step, the total error is calculated by averaging twoMAEs from biLSTM and biGRU autoencoders. The subsequence with totalerror greater than a pre-defined threshold value is considered an abnormality.We carried out the experiments using the BOU dataset on metro vehiclesin South Korea. | 13 | High-pressure triggered quantum tunneling tuning through classical percolation in a single nanowire of a binary composite显示文摘In the era of miniaturization,the one-dimensional nanostructures presented numerous possibilities to realize operational nanosensors and devices by tuning their electrical transport properties.Upon size reduction,the physical properties of materials become extremely challenging to characterize and understand due to the complex interplay among structures,surface properties,strain effects,distribution of grains,and their internal coupling mechanism.In this report,we demonstrate the fabrication of a single metal-carbon composite nanowire inside a diamondanvil-cell and examine the in situ pressure-driven electrical transport properties.The nanowire manifests a rapid and reversible pressure dependence of the strong nonlinear electrical conductivity with significant zero-bias differential conduction revealing a quantum tunneling dominant carrier transport mechanism.We fully rationalize our observations on the basis of a metal-carbon framework in a highly compressed nanowire corroborating a quantum-tunneling boundary,in addition to a classical percolation boundary that exists beyond the percolation threshold.The structural phase progressions were monitored to evidence the pressure-induced shape reconstruction of the metallic grains and modification of their intergrain interactions for successful explanation of the electrical transport behavior.The pronounced sensitivity of electrical conductivity to an external pressure stimulus provides a rationale to design low-dimensional advanced pressure sensing devices. | Sudeshna Samanta Mokwon Lee Deok-Soo Kim Jaeyong Kim Lin Wang | 2019 | Nano Research2019,12,6: | 0 |
