| 1 | Implementation of Envelope Analysis on a Wireless Condition Monitoring System for Bearing Fault Diagnosis显示文摘Envelope analysis is an effective method for characterizing impulsive vibrations in wired condition monitoring(CM)systems. This paper depicts the implementation of envelope analysis on a wireless sensor node for obtaining a more convenient and reliable CM system. To maintain CM performances under the constraints of resources available in the cost effective Zigbee based wireless sensor network(WSN), a low cost cortex-M4 F microcontroller is employed as the core processor to implement the envelope analysis algorithm on the sensor node. The on-chip 12 bit analog-to-digital converter(ADC) working at 10 k Hz sampling rate is adopted to acquire vibration signals measured by a wide frequency band piezoelectric accelerometer. The data processing flow inside the processor is optimized to satisfy the large memory usage in implementing fast Fourier transform(FFT) and Hilbert transform(HT). Thus, the envelope spectrum can be computed from a data frame of 2048 points to achieve a frequency resolution acceptable for identifying the characteristic frequencies of different bearing faults. | 7 | Spatiotemporal Mapping of Salt Marshes in the Intertidal Zone of China during 1985-2019显示文摘This study mapped the areal extent,identified the species composition,and analyzed the changes of salt marshes in the intertidal zone of China during the period 1985–2019.With the aid of the cloud platform of the Google Earth Engine,we selected Landsat 5/8 and Sentinel-2 images and used the support vector machine classification method to extract salt marsh information for the years of 1985,1990,1995,2000,2005,2010,2015,and 2019.Seven major species of salt marshes:Phragmites australis,Suaeda spp.,Spartina alterniflora,Scirpus mariqueter,Tamarix chinensis,Cyperus malaccensis,and Sesuvium portulacastrum were identified.Our results showed that salt marshes are mainly distributed in Liaoning,Shandong,Jiangsu,Shanghai,and Zhejiang,with varying patterns of shrinking,expansion,or wavering in different places.The distribution of salt marshes has declined considerably from 151,324 ha in 1985 to 115,397 ha in 2019,a drop of 23.7%.During the same period,the area of native species has dropped 95.4%from 77,741 ha to 3,563 ha for Suaeda spp.and 45.1%from 60,511 ha to 33,193 ha for P.australis;on the contrary,the area of exotic species,S.alterniflora,has exhibited a sharp rise from just 99 ha to 67,527 ha.For the past 35 years,the driving factors causing salt marsh changes are mainly land reclamation,variations in water and sand fluxes,and interspecific competition and succession of salt marsh vegetation.These results provide fundamental reference information and could form the scientific basis for formulating policies for the conservation and utilization of salt marsh resources in China. | Guangwei Chen Runjie Jin Zhanjiang Ye Qi Li Jiali Gu Min Luo Yongming Luo George Christakos James Morris Junyu He Dan Li Hengwei Wang Li Song Qiuxuan Wang Jiaping Wu | 2022 | Journal of Remote Sensing2022,,1: | 2 |

| 13 | Acoustics Based Monitoring and Diagnostics for the Progressive Deterioration of Helical Gearboxes显示文摘Gearbox condition monitoring(CM)plays a significant role in ensuring the operational reliability and efficiency of a wide range of critical industrial systems such as wind turbines and helicopters.Accurate and timely diagnosis of gear faults will improve the maintenance of gearboxes operating under sub-optimal conditions,avoid excessive energy consumption and prevent avoidable damages to systems.This study focuses on developing CM for a multi-stage helical gearbox using airborne sound.Based on signal phase alignments,Modulation Signal Bispectrum(MSB)analysis allows random noise and interrupting events in sound signals to be suppressed greatly and obtains nonlinear modulation features in association with gear dynamics.MSB coherence is evaluated for selecting the reliable bi-spectral peaks for indication of gear deterioration.A run-to-failure test of two industrial gearboxes was tested under various loading conditions.Two omnidirectional microphones were fixed near the gearboxes to sense acoustic information during operation.It has been shown that compared against vibration based CM,acoustics can perceive the responses of vibration in a larger areas and contains more comprehensive and stable information related to gear dynamics variation due to wear.Also,the MSB magnitude peaks at the first three harmonic components of gear mesh and rotation components are demonstrated to be sufficient in characterizing the gradual deterioration of gear transmission.Consequently,the combining of MSB peaks with baseline normalization yields more accurate monitoring trends and diagnostics,allowing the gradual deterioration process and gear wear location to be represented more consistently. | Kaibo Lu James Xi Gu Hongwei Fan Xiuquan Sun Bing Li Fengshou Gu | 2021 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2021,34,4: | 1 |

| 17 | Genome-Wide Linkage and Positional Association Analyses Identify Associations of Novel AFF3 and NTM Genes with Triglycerides:The GenSalt Study显示文摘We conducted a genome-wide linkage scan and positional association study to identify genes and variants influencing blood lipid levels among participants of the Genetic Epidemiology Network of Salt-Sensitivity(Gen Salt) study. The Gen Salt study was conducted among1906 participants from 633 Han Chinese families. Lipids were measured from overnight fasting blood samples using standard methods.Multipoint quantitative trait genome-wide linkage scans were performed on the high-density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, and logtransformed triglyceride phenotypes. Using dense panels of single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs), single-marker and gene-based association analyses were conducted to follow-up on promising linkage signals. Additive associations between each SNP and lipid phenotypes were tested using mixed linear regression models. Gene-based analyses were performed by combining P-values from singlemarker analyses within each gene using the truncated product method(TPM). Significant associations were assessed for replication among777 Asian participants of the Multi-ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis(MESA). Bonferroni correction was used to adjust for multiple testing.In the Gen Salt study, suggestive linkage signals were identified at 2p11.2-2q12.1 [maximum multipoint LOD score(MML)=2.18 at2q11.2] and 11q24.3-11q25(MML=2.29 at 11q25) for the log-transformed triglyceride phenotype. Follow-up analyses of these two regions revealed gene-based associations of charged multivesicular body protein 3(CHMP3), ring finger protein 103(RNF103),AF4/FMR2 family, member 3(AFF3), and neurotrimin(NTM) with triglycerides(P=4 10 4, 1.00 10 5, 2.00 10 5, and1.00 10 7, respectively). Both the AFF3 and NTM triglyceride associations were replicated among MESA study participants(P=1.00 10 7and 8.00 10 5, respectively). Furthermore, NTM explained the linkage signal on chromosome 11. | 18 | Genetic Evidence for XPC-KRAS Interactions During Lung Cancer Development显示文摘Lung cancer causes more deaths than breast, colorectal and prostate cancers combined. Despite major advances in targeted therapy in a subset of lung adenocarcinomas, the overall 5-year survival rate for lung cancer worldwide has not significantly changed for the last few decades. DNA repair deficiency is known to contribute to lung cancer development. In fact, human polymorphisms in DNA repair genes such as xeroderma pigmentosum group C(XPC) are highly associated with lung cancer incidence. However, the direct genetic evidence for the role of XPC for lung cancer development is still lacking. Mutations of the Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog(Kras) or its downstream effector genes occur in almost all lung cancer cells, and there are a number of mouse models for lung cancer with these mutations. Using activated Kras, Kras LA1, as a driver for lung cancer development in mice, we showed for the first time that mice with Kras LA1 and Xpc knockout had worst outcomes in lung cancer development, and this phenotype was associated with accumulated DNA damage. Using cultured cells, we demonstrated that induced expression of oncogenic KRAS G12 V led to increased levels of reactive oxygen species(ROS) as well as DNA damage, and both can be suppressed by anti-oxidants.
