1Findings from 2010 Global Adult Tobacco Survey: Implementation of MPOWER Policy in China显示文摘Objective To assess the implementation of five key tobacco control policies in China: protection from second-hand smoke (SHS); offering help to quit; health warnings regarding tobacco use; the enforcement of bans on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship; and increasing tobacco taxes and prices. Methods Using 2010 Global Adults Tobacco Survey in China (GATS-China), 10 indicators are used to assess the implementation of five key tobacco control policies of MPOWER in China. Results Overall, 63.3% and 72.7% of adultsnoticed people smoking indoor workplaces and public places, respectively. Approximately 60% of smokers were not asked about their smoking habits and approximately 67% were not advised to quit on their visit to a health worker. Sixty percent of adults noticed health warning messages on cigarette packaging and in the media in the last 30 days, 63.6% stated that they would not consider quitting. Twenty percent of respondents noticed tobacco advertising, promotion, and/or sponsorship activities in the 30 days prior to the survey. Among them, 76.3% noticed the direct advertising and 50% noticed from TV programs. Although purchasing price of one pack of cigarettes ranged from 1 to 200 RMB, 50% of current smokers (about 150 million) spent 5 RMB or less on one pack of cigarette. The expenditure on 100 packets of cigarettes represents 2% of 2009 GDP per capita. 4Review of hybrid electric powered aircraft,its conceptual design and energy management methodologies显示文摘The paper overviews the state-of-art of aircraft powered by hybrid electric propulsion systems.The research status of the design and energy management of hybrid aircraft and hybrid propulsion systems are further reviewed.The first contribution of the review is to demonstrate that,in the context of relatively underdeveloped electrical storage technologies,the study of mid-scale hybrid aircraft can contribute the most to both theoretical and practical knowledge.Meanwhile,the profits and potential drawbacks of applying hybrid propulsion to mid-scale hybrid airplanes have not been thoroughly illustrated.Secondly,as summed in the overview of design methodologies,the multi-objective optimization transcends the single-objective one.The potential of the hybrid propulsion system can be thoroughly evaluated in only one optimization run,if several objectives optimized simultaneously.Yet there are few researches covering the conceptual design of hybrid aircraft using multi-objective optimization.The review of the most popular energy management strategies discloses the third research gap—current methodologies favoured in hybrid ground vehicles do not consider the aircraft safety.Additionally,both non-causal and causal energy management are needed for performing a complicated flight mission with several sub-tasks.Ye XIE Al SAVVARISAL Antonios TSOURDOS Dan ZHANG Jason GU 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4:5

12Emerging material engineering strategies for amplifying photothermal heterogeneous CO_(2)catalysis显示文摘Closing the carbon loop,through CO_(2)capture and utilization,is a promising route to mitigate climate change.Solar energy is a sustainable energy source which can be exploited to drive catalytic reactions for utilizing CO_(2),including converting the CO_(2)into useful products.Solar energy can be harnessed through a range of different pathways to valorize CO_(2).Whilst using solar energy to drive CO_(2)reduction has vast potential to promote catalytic CO_(2)conversions,the progress is limited due to the lack of understanding of property-performance relations as well as feasible material engineering approaches.Herein,we outline the various driving forces involved in photothermal CO_(2)catalysis.The heat from solar energy can be utilized to induce CO_(2)catalytic reduction reactions via the photothermal effect.Further,solar energy can act to modify reaction pathways through light-matter interactions.Light-induced chemical functions have demonstrated the ability to regulate intermediary reaction steps,and thus control the reaction selectivity.Photothermal catalyst structures and specific catalyst design strategies are discussed in this context.This review provides a comprehensive understanding of the heat-light synergy and guidance for rational photothermal catalyst design for CO_(2)utilization.Bingqiao Xie Emma Lovell Tze Hao Tan Salina Jantarang Mengying Yu Jason Scott Rose Amal 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,8:1

20Evidence of bisphosphonate-conjugated sitafloxacin eradication of established methicillin-resistant S.aureus infection with osseointegration in murine models of implant-associated osteomyelitis显示文摘Eradication of MRSA osteomyelitis requires elimination of distinct biofilms.To overcome this,we developed bisphosphonateconjugated sitafloxacin(BCS,BV600072)and hydroxybisphosphonate-conjugate sitafloxacin(HBCS,BV63072),which achieve“target-and-release”drug delivery proximal to the bone infection and have prophylactic efficacy against MRSA static biofilm in vitro and in vivo.Here we evaluated their therapeutic efficacy in a murine 1-stage exchange femoral plate model with bioluminescent MRSA(USA300LAC::lux).Osteomyelitis was confirmed by CFU on the explants and longitudinal bioluminescent imaging(BLI)after debridement and implant exchange surgery on day 7,and mice were randomized into seven groups:1)Baseline(harvested at day7,no treatment);2)HPBP(bisphosphonate control for BCS)+vancomycin;3)HPHBP(hydroxybisphosphonate control for HBCS)+vancomycin;4)vancomycin;5)sitafloxacin;6)BCS+vancomycin;and 7)HBCS+vancomycin.BLI confirmed infection persisted in all groups except for mice treated with BCS or HBCS+vancomycin.Radiology revealed catastrophic femur fractures in all groups except mice treated with BCS or HBCS+vancomycin,which also displayed decreases in peri-implant bone loss,osteoclast numbers,and biofilm.To confirm this,we assessed the efficacy of vancomycin,sitafloxacin,and HBCS monotherapy in a transtibial implant model.The results showed complete lack of vancomycin efficacy while all mice treated with HBCS had evidence of infection control,and some had evidence of osseous integrated septic implants,suggestive of biofilm eradication.Taken together these studies demonstrate that HBCS adjuvant with standard of care debridement and vancomycin therapy has the potential to eradicate MRSA osteomyelitis.Youliang Ren Jason Weeks Thomas Xue Joshua Rainbolt Karen L.de Mesy Bentley Ye Shu Yuting Liu Elysia Masters Philip Cherian Charles E.McKenna Jeffrey Neighbors Frank H.Ebetino Edward M.Schwarz Shuting Sun Chao Xie 2023Bone Research2023,11,4:0
