| 1 | Experimental study of chemical concentration variation of ASP flooding显示文摘A physical modeling system of long slim tube was established. Several pressure measuring and sampling points were laid out at different positions along the tube. Through real-time measurements of pressures and chemical concentrations at different points, the mass transfer and chemical concentration of ASP flooding in porous media are studied. The concentration of chemicals declines gradually during the fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet of the model. The concentration increases in the front edge of the slug faster than the concentration decreases in the rear edge of the slug. The concentration variation of the chemicals is an asymmetrical and offset process. The order of motion velocities of the chemicals from fast to slow is polymer, alkali and surfactant. The motion lag and comprehensive diffusion are strong in the vicinity of the inlet, the motion velocities of the chemicals are high, the difference of flow velocities among the three chemicals is significant and the chromatographic separation of the chemicals is obvious. | 3 | Experimental investigations on the fluid flow mechanism in porous media of enhanced oil recovery by alkli/surfactant/polymer flooding显示文摘The fluid flow mechanism in porous media of enhanced oil recovery by Alkli/ Surfactant/ Polymer (ASP) flooding is investigated by measuring production performance, pressure distribution and saturation distribution through installing differential pressure transducers and saturation measuring probes in a physical model of vertical heterogeneous reservoir. The fluid flow variation in porous media is the main reason of enhanced oil recovery of ASP flooding. The pressure field and saturation field are nonlinearly coupled together and the interaction between them results in the fluid flow variation in the reservoir. In a vertical heterogeneous reservoir, the ASP agents initially flow in the high permeability layer, and fluid changes the flow direction toward the low and the middle permeability layers because the resistance in the high permeability layer is increased under the physical and chemical action of adsorption, retention and emulsion. | 4 | Immunogenicity and protective efficacy of a recombinant protein subunit vaccine and an inactivated vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 variants in non-human primates显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants and the gradually decreasing neutralizing antibodies over time post vaccination have led to an increase in incidents of breakthrough infection across the world.To investigate the potential protective effect of the recombinant protein subunit COVID-19 vaccine targeting receptor-binding domain(RBD)(PS-RBD)and whole inactivated virus particle vaccine(IV)against the variant strains,in this study,rhesus macaques were immunized with PS-RBD or IV vaccine,followed by a Beta variant(B.1.351)challenge.Although neutralizing activity against the Beta variant was reduced compared with that against the prototype,the decreased viral load in both upper and lower respiratory tracts,milder pathological changes,and downregulated inflammatory cytokine levels in lung tissues after challenge demonstrated that PS-RBD and IV still provided effective protection against the Beta variant in the macaque model.Furthermore,PS-RBD-induced macaque sera possessed general binding and neutralizing activity to Alpha,Beta,Delta,and Omicron variants in our study,though the neutralizing antibody(NAb)titers declined by varying degrees,demonstrating potential protection of PS-RBD against current circulating variants of concern(VOCs).Interestingly,although the IV vaccine-induced extremely low neutralizing antibody titers against the Beta variant,it still showed reduction for viral load and significantly alleviated pathological change.Other correlates of vaccine-induced protection(CoP)like antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity(ADCC)and immune memory were both confirmed to be existing in IV vaccinated group and possibly be involved in the protective mechanism. | Qian He Qunying Mao Xiaozhong Peng Zhanlong He Shuaiyao Lu Jialu Zhang Fan Gao Lianlian Bian Chaoqiang An Wenhai Yu Fengmei Yang Yanan Zhou Yun Yang Yanyan Li Yadi Yuan Xujia Yan Jinghuan Yang Xing Wu Weijin Huang Changgui Li Junzhi Wang Zhenglun Liang Miao Xu | 2022 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,4: | 2 |
| 5 | Enhanced dechlorination of 2,4-dichlorophenol by recoverable Ni/Fe–Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites显示文摘Ni/Fe-Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites were synthesized for dechlorination of 2,4-dichlorophenol(2,4-DCP). The effects of the Ni content in Ni/Fe-Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites, solution pH, and common dissolved ions on the dechlorination efficiency were investigated, in addition to the reusability of the nanocomposites. The results showed that increasing content of Ni in Ni/Fe–Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites, from 1 to 5 wt.%, greatly increased the dechlorination efficiency; the Ni/Fe–Fe_3O_4 nanocomposites had much higher dechlorination efficiency than bare Ni/Fe nanoparticles. Ni content of 5 wt.% and initial p H below 6.0 was found to be the optimal conditions for the catalytic dechlorination of 2,4-DCP. Both 2,4-DCP and the intermediate product 2-chlorophenol(2-CP) were completely removed, and the concentration of the final product phenol was close to the theoretical phenol production from complete dechlorination of 20 mg/L of 2,4-DCP, after 3 hr reaction at initial p H value of 6.0,3 g/L Ni/Fe-Fe_3O_4 , 5 wt.% Ni content in the composite, and temperature of 22℃. 2,4-DCP dechlorination was enhanced by Cl-and inhibited by NO3-and SO_4^(2-). The nanocomposites were easily separated from the solution by an applied magnetic field. When the catalyst was reused, the removal efficiency of 2,4-DCP was almost 100% for the first seven uses, and gradually decreased to 75% in cycles 8–10. | 9 | Nanoparticle accumulation in liver may induce resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy显示文摘Despite immune checkpoint blockade(ICB)therapy has transformed cancer treatment,only 20.2%of these patients achieved a response.Understanding resistance mechanisms to ICB is important for the treatment of a wider population.In this work,we occasionally found that the silica nanoparticles(SiO_(2)NPs)accumulated in the liver can induce resistance to following ICB therapy to a subcutaneous tumor in mice.By analysis of T cells frequency,we uncovered that SiO_(2)NPs in the liver resulted in a siphoning of T cells from circulation to the liver by produced chemokines.In addition,liver immunosuppressive cells further inhibit the function and induce apoptosis of recruited T cells,leading to a systemic loss and reduced tumor infiltration of T cells,which contributes to poor responses to ICB therapy.However,such effect is not observed in poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA)NPs treated mice under the same conditions,likely due to their much lower immunogenicity in perturbing the liver immune microenvironment,indicating that cancer is not a local disease but an ecosystem that is linked to the distal environment.We further provide a new mechanism insight into ICB resistance induced by liver accumulation of nanoparticles. | Huaxing Dai Qianyu Yang Rong Sun Yue Zhang Qingle Ma Yifan Shen Beilei Wang Yitong Chen Jialu Xu Bo Tian Fang Xu Chao Wang | 2023 | Nano Research2023,16,4: | 1 |

| 17 | A novel nomogram for prognosis stratification in salvage liver transplantation:a national-wide study with propensity score matching analysis in China显示文摘Background:Salvage liver transplantation(SLT)has been reported to be an efficient treatment option for patients with recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)after liver resection(LR).However,for recipients who underwent liver transplantation(LT)due to recurrent HCC after LR in China,the selection criteria are not well established.Methods:In this study,data from the China Liver Transplant Registry(CLTR)of 4,244 LT performed from January 2015 to December 2019 were examined,including 3,498 primary liver transplantation(PLT)and 746 SLT recipients.Propensity score matching(PSM)analysis was used to minimize between-group imbalances.The overall survival(OS)and disease-free survival(DFS)between PLT and SLT in recipients fulfilling the Milan or Hangzhou criteria were compared based on the multivariate analysis,nomograms were plotted to further classify the SLT group into low-and high-risk groups.Results:In this study,the 1-,3-and 5-year OS and DFS of SLT recipients fulfilling Milan criteria(OS,P=0.01;DFS,P<0.001)or Hangzhou criteria(OS,P=0.03;DFS,P=0.003)were significantly reduced when compared to that of PLT group after PSM analysis.Independent risk factors,including preoperative transarterial chemoembolization(TACE),alpha fetoprotein(AFP)level,tumor maximum size and tumor total diameter were selected to draw a prognostic nomogram.The low-risk SLT recipients(1-year,95.34%;3-year,84.26%;5-year,77.20%)showed a comparable OS with PLT recipients fulfilling Hangzhou criteria (P=0.107). Conclusions: An optimal nomogram model for prognosis stratification and clinical decision guidance of SLT was established. | 18 | Self-fueling ferroptosis-inducing microreactors based on p H-responsive Lipiodol Pickering emulsions enable transarterial ferro-embolization therapy显示文摘Lipiodol chemotherapeutic emulsions remain one of the main choices for the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) via transarterial chemoembolization(TACE). However, the limited stability of Lipiodol chemotherapeutic emulsions would lead to rapid drug diffusion, which would reduce the therapeutic benefit and cause systemic toxicity of administrated chemotherapeutics. Therefore, the development of enhanced Lipiodol-based formulations is of great significance to enable effective and safe TACE treatment. Herein, a stable water-in-oil Lipiodol Pickering emulsion(LPE) stabilized by pH-dissociable calcium carbonate nanoparticles and hemin is prepared and utilized for efficient encapsulation of lipoxygenase(LOX). The obtained LOX-loaded CaCO_(3)&hemin-stabilized LPE(LHCa-LPE) showing greatly improved emulsion stability could work as a pH-responsive and self-fueling microreactor to convert polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFAs), a main component of Lipiodol, to cytotoxic lipid radicals through the cascading catalytic reaction driven by LOX and hemin, thus inducing ferroptosis of cancer cells. As a result, such LHCa-LPE upon transcatheter embolization can effectively suppress the progression of orthotopic N1S1 HCC in rats.
