| 2 | Sedimentary Evolution of the Holocene Subaqueous Clinoform off the Southern Shandong Peninsula in the Western South Yellow Sea显示文摘Based on the stratigraphic sequence formed since the last glaciation and revealed by 3000 km long high-resolution shallow seismic profiles and the core QDZ03 acquired recently off the southern Shandong Peninsula, we addressed the sedimentary characteristics of a Holocene subaqueous clinoform in this paper. Integrated analyses were made on the core QDZ03, including sedimentary facies, sediment grain sizes, clay minerals, geochemistry, micro paleontology, and AMS 14 C dating. The result indicates that there exists a Holocene subaqueous clinoform, whose bottom boundary generally lies at 15–40 m below the present sea level with its depth contours roughly parallel to the coast and getting deeper seawards. The maximum thickness of the clinoform is up to 22.5 m on the coast side, and the thickness contours generally spread in a banded way along the coastline and becomes thinner towards the sea. At the mouths of some bays along the coast, the clinoform stretches in the shape of a fan and its thickness is evidently larger than that of the surrounding sediments. This clinoform came into being in the early Holocene(about 11.2 cal kyr BP) and can be divided into the lower and upper depositional units(DU 2 and DU 1, respectively). The unit DU 2, being usually less than 3 m in thickness and formed under a low sedimentation rate, is located between the bottom boundary and the Holocene maximum flooding surface(MFS), and represents the sediment of a post-glacial transgressive systems tract; whereas the unit DU 1, the main body of the clinoform, sits on the MFS, belonging to the sediment of a highstand systems tract from middle Holocene(about 7–6 cal kyr BP) to the present. The provenance of the clinoform differs from that of the typical sediments of the Yellow River and can be considered as the results of the joint contribution from both the Yellow River and the proximal coastal sediments of the Shandong Peninsula, as evidenced by the sediment geochemistry of the core. | 3 | CAS FGOALS-f3-L Model Datasets for CMIP6 Historical Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project Simulation显示文摘The outputs of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS) Flexible Global Ocean–Atmosphere–Land System(FGOALS-f3-L) model for the baseline experiment of the Atmospheric Model Intercomparison Project simulation in the Diagnostic,Evaluation and Characterization of Klima common experiments of phase 6 of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP6) are described in this paper. The CAS FGOALS-f3-L model, experiment settings, and outputs are all given. In total,there are three ensemble experiments over the period 1979–2014, which are performed with different initial states. The model outputs contain a total of 37 variables and include the required three-hourly mean, six-hourly transient, daily and monthly mean datasets. The baseline performances of the model are validated at different time scales. The preliminary evaluation suggests that the CAS FGOALS-f3-L model can capture the basic patterns of atmospheric circulation and precipitation well, including the propagation of the Madden–Julian Oscillation, activities of tropical cyclones, and the characterization of extreme precipitation. | 6 | Sulfur-enriched alkaloids from the root of Isatis indigotica显示文摘Five new sulfur-enriched alkaloids isatithioetherins A–E(1–5), and two pairs of scalemic enantiomers(t)-and( à)-isatithiopyrin B(6 a and 6 b) and isoepigoitrin and isogoitrin(7 a and 7 b), along with the known scalemic enantiomers epigoitrin and goitrin(8 a and 8 b), were isolated and characterized from an aqueous extract of the Isatis indigotica roots. Their structures were determined by extensive spectroscopic data analysis, including 2 D NMR and theoretical calculations of electronic circular dichroism(ECD) spectra based on the quantum-mechanical time-dependent density functional theory(TDDFT). Compounds 1–5 represent a novel group of sulfur-enriched alkaloids, biogenetically originating from stereoselective assemblies of epigoitrin-derived units. Isolation and structure characterization of 6 a and 6 b support the postulated biosynthetic pathways for the diastereomers 9 a and 9 b via a rare thio-Diels–Alder reaction. A differential equation about the forces that act on it is set up, so the forces that act on it and its motion rule are received. Combining it with known lapping tool motion, the relative motion rule between the lapping tool and workpiece is determined too. According to the relative motion, the distribution of abrasives density is designed reasonably, which makes the lapping tool wear uniformly, which, in turn, avoids redressing the lapping tool, saves abra-sives, and increases machining accuracy. | 10 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. | 11 | In vitro and in vivo activity of D-serine in combination with β-lactam antibiotics against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus显示文摘As D-amino acids play important roles in the physiological metabolism of bacteria,combination of D-amino acids with antibiotics may provide synergistic antibacterial activity. The aim of the study was to evaluate in vitro and in vivo activity of D-serine alone and in combination withβ-lactams against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) strains, and to explore the possible sensitization mechanisms. The activity of D-serine, β-lactams alone and in combinations was evaluated both in vitro by standard MICs, time–kill curves and checkerboard assays, and in vivo by murine systemic infection model as well as neutropenic thigh infection model. An in vitro synergistic effect was demonstrated with the combination of D-serine and β-lactams against MRSA standard and clinical strains.Importantly, the combinations enhanced the therapeutic efficacy in the animal models as compared toβ-lactam alone groups. Initial mechanism study suggested possible revision of D-alanine-D-alanine residue to D-alanine-D-serine in peptidoglycan by adding of D-alanine in the medium, which may cause decreased affinity to PBPs during transpeptidation. In conclusion, D-serine had synergistic activity in combination with β-lactams against MRSA strains both in vitro and in vivo. | 13 | Isolation and identification of genes expressed differentially in rice inflorescence meristem with suppression subtractive hybridization显示文摘A subtracted cDNA library of rice (Oryza sativa L.) inflorescence meristem (IM) was constructed using the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) method. The cDNAs of the rice shoot apical meristem (SAM) were used as 'driver' and inflorescence meristem (IM) as 'tester' in the experiment, respectively. Forty of 250 randomly chosen cDNA clones were identified by differential screening, which were IM-specific or IM-highly expressed. Most of the rice IM cDNAs cloned by SSH appear to represent rare transcripts, 40% of which were derived from truly differentially expressed genes. | 16 | The mechanism underlying overwintering death in poplar:the cumulative effect of effective freeze-thaw damage显示文摘We analyzed the relationships linking overwintering death and frost cracking to temperature and sunlight as well as the effects of low temperatures and freeze–thaw cycles on bud-burst rates,relative electrical conductivity,and phloem and cambial ultrastructures of poplar.Overwintering death rates of poplar were not correlated with negative accumulated temperature or winter minimum temperature.Freeze–thaw cycles caused more bud damage than constant exposure to low temperatures.Resistance to freeze–thaw cycles differed among clones,and the budburst rate decreased with increasing exposure to freeze–thaw cycles.Cold-resistant clones had the lowest relative electrical conductivity.Chloroplasts exhibited the fastest and the most obvious reaction to freeze–thaw damage,whereas a single freeze–thaw cycle caused little damage to cambium ultrastructure.Several such cycles resulted in damage to plasma membranes,severe damage to organelles,dehydration of cells and cell death.We conclude that overwintering death of poplar is mainly attributed to the accumulation of effective freeze–thaw damage beyond the limits of freeze–thaw resistance. | Chengchao Yang Jiandong Peng Xiaoyu Li Dejun Liang Zhiyan Yang Yan Zhang | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,1: | 4 |
| 17 | Nasal delivery of broadly neutralizing antibodies protects mice from lethal challenge with SARS-CoV-2 delta and omicron variants显示文摘Multiple new variants of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-Co V-2)have constantly emerged,as the delta and omicron variants,which have developed resistance to currently gained neutralizing antibodies.This highlights a critical need to discover new therapeutic agents to overcome the variants mutations.Despite the availability of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),the use of broadly neutralizing antibodies has been considered as an alternative way for the prevention or treatment of SARS-Co V-2 variants infection.Here,we show that the nasal delivery of two previously characterized broadly neutralizing antibodies(F61 and H121)protected K18-h ACE2 mice against lethal challenge with SARS-Co V-2 variants.The broadly protective efficacy of the F61 or F61/F121 cocktail antibodies was evaluated by lethal challenge with the wild strain(WIV04)and multiple variants,including beta(B.1.351),delta(B.1.617.2),and omicron(B.1.1.529)at 200or 1000 TCID_(50),and the minimum antibody administration doses(5-1.25 mg/kg body weight)were also evaluated with delta and omicron challenge.Fully prophylactic protections were found in all challenged groups with both F61 and F61/H121 combination at the administration dose of 20 mg/kg body weight,and corresponding mice lung viral RNA showed negative,with almost all alveolar septa and cavities remaining normal.Furthermore,low-dose antibody treatment induced significant prophylactic protection against lethal challenge with delta and omicron variants,whereas the F61/H121 combination showed excellent results against omicron infection.Our findings indicated the potential use of broadly neutralizing monoclonal antibodies as prophylactic and therapeutic agent for protection of current emerged SARS-Co V-2 variants infection. | Jia Lu Qiangling Yin Rongjuan Pei Qiu Zhang Yuanyuan Qu Yongbing Pan Lina Sun Ding Gao Cuiqin Liang Jingwen Yang Wei Wu Jiandong Li Zongqiang Cui Zejun Wang Xinguo Li Dexin Li Shiwen Wang Kai Duan Wuxiang Guan Mifang Liang Xiaoming Yang | 2022 | Virologica Sinica2022,37,2: | 4 |
| 18 | A retrospective analysis of the safety and efficacy of apatinib in treating advanced metastatic colorectal cancer显示文摘Objective Colorectal cancer(CRC) is a heterogeneous disease in which both epigenetic alterations and gene mutations transform normal cells into cancer cells. Apart from a variety of standard treatments, there are few options available to improve a CRC patient's overall survival(OS) and quality of a life. The objective of the present retrospective study was to analyze the response and toxicity associated with apatinib in patients with metastatic CRC(m CRC).Method Data on the use of apatinib as salvage therapy were collected from patients diagnosed with m CRC, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG) performance status ≤ 3, from the Luhe Hospital. A total of 17 patients with stage IV unresectable m CRC, who received at least one cycle of apatinib, between October 2015 and February 2017, were involved in this study. Our primary endpoints were the overall response rate(ORR) and disease control rate(DCR), and the secondary objectives were progression-free survival(PFS), OS and safety.Result Seventeen patients with a median age of 62 years(34–83 years) were enrolled. Twelve patients were male, and the location of the primary tumor was in the colon and the rectum in 9 and 8 patients, respectively. Liver metastasis was observed in 9 patients and lung metastasis in 5. The ECOG performance status was 0 to 2 in 13 patients. The ORR at the first evaluation was 17.6 %(3/17). The DCR was 82.4%(14/17). The median PFS was 3.0 months(95% confidence interval(CI): 1.924–4.076 months) and the median OS was 5.4 months(95% CI: 3.383–7.417 months). Grade 1–2 adverse events included hypertension(52.9%), fatigue(64.7%), anorexia(29.4%), hoarseness(23.5%), proteinuria(23.5%), and development of rashes(17.6%). Grade 3 adverse events included thrombocytopenia(5.9%) and proteinuria(5.9%). There were no Grade 4 adverse events in our analysis.Conclusions Apatinib was found to be both safe and effective in the treatment of advanced m CRC, and its associated toxicities were acceptable and manageable. | 19 | Modeling of UAV path planning based on IMM under POMDP framework显示文摘In order to enhance the capability of tracking targets autonomously of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP) model for UAV path planning is established based on the POMDP framework. The elements of the POMDP model are analyzed and described. The state transfer law in the model can be described by the method of interactive multiple model (IMM) due to the diversity of the target motion law, which is used to switch the motion model to accommodate target maneuvers, and hence improving the tracking accuracy. The simulation results show that the model can achieve efficient planning for the UAV route, and effective tracking for the target. | 20 | Molecular evolution and genetic diversity analysis of SFTS virus based on next-generation sequencing显示文摘SFTS virus(SFTSV)is a novel bunyavirus,which was discovered as the etiological agent of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome(SFTS)in China in 2009,and was now prevalent in at least 25 provinces in China.SFTS was subsequently identified in South Korea and Japan in 2012.To explore themolecular evolution and genetic characteristics of this newly identified pathogen,we reported 72 whole genome sequences of SFTSV,and built a dataset of SFTSV genome sequences containing 292 L-segment,302 M-segment and 502 S-segment.We clearly divided SFTSV into six genotypes,Genotype A-F.It was found that genotype F was the dominant epidemic genotype of Japan,South Korea,and Zhejiang province of China.The coalescent analysis supported that SFTSV originated in the early 18th century from Zhejiang province,and Genotype F was the most primitive one.Henan,Hubei,and Anhui provinces which are located in Dabie Mountain area weremainly epidemic of Genotype A,which emerged relatively late but distributed widely.A total of 37 recombination events were identified,making SFTSV with a high recombination frequency(L segment 5.1%,Msegment 3.6%,S segment 0.8%)among negative-strand segmented RNA viruses.It was identified that 19 reassortant strains belonged to 12 reassortment forms of SFTSV genome containing 6 newly identified forms.The reassortment virus and recombination in tick were both found for the first time.We also found many of genotype-specific mutation sites,7 of which could be considered as potential molecular marker for genotype classification.This study promoted a more comprehensive understanding of the phylogeny and origin,and the genetic diversity of SFTSV,and it could help the studies of other newly discovered tick-borne bunyavirus as reference data and research ideas. | Aqian Li Lin Liu Wei Wu Yang Liu Xiaoxia Huang Chuan Li Di Liu Jiandong Li Shiwen Wang Dexin Li Mifang Liang | 2021 | Biosafety and Health2021,3,2: | 4 |
