| 1 | Effects of transgenic soybean on growth and phosphorus acquisition in mixed culture system显示文摘Transgenic soybean plants overexpressing the Arabidopsis purple acid phosphatase gene At PAP15(OXp) or the soybean expansin gene Gm EXPB2(OXe) can improve phosphorous(P) ef ficiency in pure culture by increasing Apase secretion or changing root morphology. In this study, soybean-soybean mixed cultures were employed to illuminate P acquisition among plants in mixed stands of transgenic and wild-type soybean. Our results showed that transgenic soybean plants were much more competitive, and had greater growth and P uptake than wild-type soybean in mixed culture in both low P calcareous and acid soils. Furthermore, OXe plants had an advantage in calcareous soils when mixed with OXp, whereas the latter performed much better in acid soils. In soybean-maize mixed culture, transgenic soybean had no impact on maize growth compared to controls in both acid and calcareous soils with different P conditions. As for soybean inmixed culture, OXp plants had no significant advantages regardless of P availability or soil type, while P efficiency improved in OXe in calcareous soils compared to controls These results imply that physiological traits could be easily affected by the mixed maize. | 4 | Non‑Leaching,Rapid Bactericidal and Biocompatible Polyester Fabrics Finished with Benzophenone Terminated N‑halamine显示文摘Pathogenic bacteria can proliferate rapidly on porous fabrics to form bacterial plaques/bioflms,resulting in potential sources of cross-transmissions of diseases and increasing cross-infection in public environments.Many works on antibacterial modifcation of cotton fabrics have been reported,while very few works were reported to endow poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET)fabrics with non-leaching antibacterial function without compromising their innate physicochemical properties though PET is the most widely used fabric.Therefore,it is urgent to impart the PET fabrics with non-leaching antibacterial activity.Herein,a novel N-halamine compound,1-chloro-3-benzophenone-5,5-dimethylhydantoin(Cl-BPDMH),was developed to be covalently bonded onto PET fabrics,rendering non-leaching antibacterial activity while negligible cytotoxicity based on contact-killing principle.Bacterial was easily adhered to Cl-BPDMH fnished PET fabrics,and then it was inactivated quickly within 10 s.Furthermore,the breaking strength,breaking elongation,tearing strength,water vapor permeability,air permeability and whiteness of Cl-BPDMH fnished PET fabrics were improved obviously compared to raw PET fabrics.Hence,this work developed a facile approach to fabricate multifunctional synthetic textiles to render outstanding and rapid bactericidal activity without compromising their physicochemical properties and biocompatibility. | Shu Wang JianNa Li Yihong Cao JingWei Gu YuanFeng Wang ShiGuo Chen | 2022 | Advanced Fiber Materials2022,4,1: | 1 |
