| 2 | Zircon U-Pb dating on the Mesozoic volcanic suite from the Qingshan Group stratotype section in eastern Shandong Province and its tectonic significance显示文摘A geochronological study of zircon U-Pb on the volcanic rocks from the stratotype section of the Qingshan Group within the Jiaozhou Basin, eastern Shandong Province, is presented. The zircons were analyzed using the method of in situ ablation of a 193 nm excimer laser system coupled with an up to date ICP-MS system. Among the three formations of the Qingshan Group, zircons recovered from the lowest part of the Houkuang Fm. were dated at 106±2 Ma (95% confidence, the same below), whereas those from the lower and upper parts of the Shiqianzhuang Fm. were given ages of 105±4 Ma and 98±1 Ma, respectively. A spatially decreasing trend for the Mesozoic magmatic timing from west to east in the province is observed through comparing the data of this study with those by previous works on the Qingshan volcanic lavas occurring at western Shandong and within the Yishu fault zone. The Qingshan volcanic rocks are constituent of the 'Shoshonite Province' in East China. Exposed at most provinces of central East China along the Tan-Lu fault and the Yangtze fault zones, these volcanic suites are characterized by shoshonite and high-K calcalkalic rocks in lithology and thought to be correlated with the partial melting of continental mantle in genesis. It is also shown that the Qingshan potassic volcanic suite from eastern Shandong basins is distinctly younger than those from other ar-eas of the shoshonite province. By contrary, ages of the Mesozoic to Cenozoic alkaline basalts, sourced by asthenospheric mantle, from both northern Huaiyan basin and northern Dabie belt along the Tan-Lu fault zone and from the Ningwu, Lishui and Luzong basins along the Yangtze fault zone are observably older than those occurring within eastern Shandong. | 3 | Eco-environment range in the source regions of the Yangtze and Yellow rivers显示文摘Based on geographical and hydrological extents delimited, four principles are identified, as the bases for delineating the ranges of the source regions of the Yangtze and Yellow rivers in the paper. According to the comprehensive analysis of topographical characteristics, climate conditions, vegetation distribution and hydrological features, the source region ranges for eco-environmental study are defined. The eastern boundary point is Dari hydrological station in the upper reach of the Yellow River. The watershed above Dari hydrological station is the source region of the Yellow River which drains an area of 4.49×10 4 km 2 . Natural environment is characterized by the major topographical types of plateau lakes and marshland, gentle landforms, alpine cold semi-arid climate, and steppe and meadow vegetation in the source region of the Yellow River. The eastern boundary point is the convergent site of the Nieqiaqu and the Tongtian River in the upstream of the Yangtze River. The watershed above the convergent site is the source region of the Yangtze River, with a watershed area of 12.24×10 4 km 2 . | 4 | Comparison of dust emissions, transport, and deposition between the Taklimakan Desert and Gobi Desert from 2007 to 2011显示文摘The Taklimakan Desert(TD) and Gobi Desert(GD) are two of the most important dust sources in East Asia, and have important impact on energy budgets, ecosystems and water cycles at regional and even global scales. To investigate the contribution of the TD and the GD to dust concentrations in East Asia as a whole, dust emissions, transport, and deposition over the TD and the GD in different seasons from 2007 to 2011 were systematically compared, based on the Weather Research and Forecasting model coupled with Chemistry(WRF-Chem). Dust emissions, uplift, and long-range transport related to these two dust source regions were markedly different due to differences in topography, elevation, thermal conditions, and atmospheric circulation. Specifically,the topography of the GD is relatively flat, and at a high elevation, and the area is under the influence of two jet streams at high altitudes, resulting in high wind speeds in the upper atmosphere. Deep convective mixing enables the descending branch of jet streams to continuously transport momentum downward to the mid-troposphere, leading to enhanced wind speeds in the lower troposphere over the GD which favors the vertical uplift of the GD dust particles. Therefore, the GD dust was very likely to be transported under the effect of strong westerly jets, and thus played the most important role in contributing to dust concentrations in East Asia. Approximately 35% and 31% of dust emitted from the GD transported to remote areas in East Asia in spring and summer, respectively. The TD has the highest dust emission capabilities in East Asia, with emissions of about 70.54 Tg yr.1 in spring, accounting for 42% of the total dust emissions in East Asia. However, the TD is located in the Tarim Basin and surrounded by mountains on three sides. Furthermore, the dominant surface wind direction is eastward and the average wind speed at high altitudes is relatively small over the TD. As a result, the TD dust particles are not easily transported outside the Tarim Basin, such that most of the dust particles are re-deposited after uplift, at a total deposition rate of about 40 g m.2. It is only when the TD dust particles are uplifted above 4 km, and entrained in westerlies that they begin to undergo a long-range transport. Therefore,the contribution of the TD dust to East Asian dust concentrations was relatively small. | 8 | Investigation of meso-failure behavior of rock under thermal-mechanical coupled effects based on high temperature SEM显示文摘It is extremely important to study and understand the deformation behavior and strength characteristics of rocks under thermal-mechanical(TM) coupling effects.Failure behavior and strength characteristics of Pingdingshan sandstone were investigated at room temperatures up to 300oC in an internally heated apparatus and tensile load through meso-scale laboratory experiments in this work.33 experiments have successfully been conducted for Pingdingshan sandstone.Experimental results indicated that the tensile strength increased slowly with temperatures from 25oC to 100oC,and then sharply jumped from 100oC to 150oC,and finally decreased slightly with temperatures from 150oC to 300oC.And about 150oC is the threshold temperature of strength and thermal cracking.At low temperatures(25oC-150oC),sandstone strength is determined by relatively weak clay cement.However,at higher temperatures(150oC-300oC),because of the strength enhancement of clay cement,sandstone strength is controlled by both mineral particles and clay cement.The effects of cement clay,micro-cracks closing,and thermal cracking were the possible reasons for our detailed analysis.In addition,the typical fracture position maps and nominal stress-strain curves indicated that the temperature had strong effects on the failure mechanism of sandstone.The fractograph implied that the dominant fracture mechanism tended to transform from brittle at low temperatures to ductile at high temperatures. | ZUO JianPing XIE HePing ZHOU HongWei | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,10: | 7 |

| 12 | Efficient Attribute-Based Encryption from R-LWE显示文摘Attribute-based encryption(ABE) has been an active research area in cryptography due to its attractive applications. But almost all attribute-based encryption schemes are based on bilinear maps, which leave them vulnerable to quantum cryptanalysis. The latticebased ABE schemes from the Learning with errors(LWE)have appeared, but they are not efficient enough for practical applications. Thus we propose an efficient attributebased encryption based on the Learning with errors over Rings(R-LWE), which is called ABE R-LWE. The security analysis shows that ABE R-LWE scheme is secure in the selective-set model under the R-LWE assumption, whose security can reduce to the hardness of the shortest vector problem in the worst case on ideal lattices. XRD, SEM and EDS characterization results show that F^-/Ln^(3+) can not only control the phase composition, particle size and morphology, but also affect the effective doping concentration of Yb^(3+) and Er^(3+).When F^-/Ln^(3+) is 12/1, the strongest upconversion luminescence is obtained. Based on the luminescent temperature sensing behavior of Er^(3+),the photo-thermal conversion performance was investigated. The results indicate that the temperature of irradiation spot is linearly dependent on the power density, and the photo-thermal responsivity is determined to be 3.3K·cm^2/W. Also, it is found that the photo-thermal conversion efficiency can be regulated by changing the Yb^(3+) doping concentration. | 15 | Endemic Amphibians and Their Distribution in China显示文摘Amphibians are good indicators of ecosystem health. Updating the information of endemic species in time and understanding their spatial distributions are necessary for the development of integrative conservation strategies and the elucidation of geographic patterns of amphibians. We analyzed the diversity and distributions of the endemic amphibians in China based on a database of specimen records, recently published literature, and field surveys. Two hundred and sixty two endemic species of amphibians, belonging to 59 genera in 12 families and two orders, are recognized. They account for 67% of the total number of amphibian species in China, with the family Megophryidae possessing the largest number of endemics. There are also 17 genera endemic to China. Across provinces, the species richness of endemics shows five levels with a hierarchical diversification. Sichuan has the largest number of endemics, while Heilongjiang and Jilin have no endemic species. Alternatively, whether on the level of endemic genus or species, the highest diversity occurs in the Western Mountains and Plateau Subregion. The distribution ranges of most endemic species cover ≤ 4 provinces or zoogeographic subregions. Additionally, the species richness of endemics along an elevational gradient shows a bell-shaped pattern with the peak around 800 m. Most endemic species are distributed in areas of low to mid elevation(c. 700–1 500 m), while 36 species are distributed up to 3 000 m. Endemic species richness decreases with increasing of elevation range. Species at mid elevations display large range sizes, while species at lower and higher elevations exhibit smaller ranges. Our results are to be beneficial for further exploration of the underlying mechanisms of distributional patterns of amphibians in China. | 16 | Investigation of mechanical properties of fractured marbles by uniaxial compression tests显示文摘Uniaxial compression tests(UCTs)on 34 naturally fractured marble samples taken from the transportation tunnels of Jinping II hydropower station were carried out using the MTS815 Flex test GT rock testing system.Rockburst proneness index WET is determined for the marble samples with the UCTs.According to the number,size and spatial structure characteristics of the internal natural fractures of the marble samples,fractures are basically divided into 4 types,namely,single fracture,parallel fracture,intersectant fracture and mixed fracture.The mechanical properties of naturally fractured rocks(4 types)are analyzed and compared with those of intact rock samples(without natural fractures).Experimental results indicate that failure characteristics of fractured rocks are appreciably controlled by fracture distribution or fracture patterns.In comparison with intact rocks,the failure of fractured marbles is a locally progressive failure process and finally rocks fail abruptly.Statistically,the uniaxial compressive strengths(UCSs)of rocks with single,parallel,intersectant and mixed fractures are 0.72,0.69,0.59 and 0.46 times those of the intact rocks,respectively.However,the elastic modulus of the fractured Yantang marbles is generally not different from that of intact rocks.But the elastic moduli of Baishan marble with single,intersectant and mixed fractures are 0.61,0.62 and 0.45 times those of intact rocks,respectively.Experimental results also indicate that WET of fractured marbles is generally smaller than that of intact marbles,which implies that rockburst intensity of fractured marble in field may be controlled to some extent.In addition,the bearing capacity of surrounding rocks is also reduced,thus the surrounding rocks should be supported or reinforced timely according to practical conditions. | Hepine Xie Jianliang Pei Jianping Zuo Ru Zhang | 2011 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2011,3,4: | 5 |

| 18 | Comparison of Dryland Climate Change in Observations and CMIP5 Simulations显示文摘A comparison of observations with 20 climate model simulations from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project, Phase5(CMIP5) revealed that observed dryland expansion amounted to 2.61 × 106km2 during the 58 years from 1948 to 2005,which was four times higher than that in the simulations(0.55 × 106km2). Dryland expansion was accompanied by a decline in aridity index(AI)(drying trend) as a result of decreased precipitation and increased potential evapotranspiration across all dryland subtype areas in the observations, especially in the semi-arid and dry subhumid regions. However, the CMIP5multi-model ensemble(MME) average performed poorly with regard to the decreasing trends of AI and precipitation. By analyzing the factors controlling AI, we found that the overall bias of AI in the simulations, compared with observations, was largely due to limitations in the simulation of precipitation. | 20 | Sources and Accumulation Risk of Heavy Metal in Major Animal Manure显示文摘Feed and corresponding manure samples were collected from 27 scale pig farms and 7 scale chicken farms in Jiaxing City,Zhejiang Province,and their heavy metal contents were analyzed. The weighted average values of Cr,Cu,Zn,Pb and As in pig feed were 4. 6,123. 4,370. 7,0. 69 and 6. 9 mg/kg,respectively. However,referred to Safe Use Specification of Feed Additives and MOA Announcement No. 1224,the exceeding standards rates of Cr,Cu,Zn,Pb and As in pig feed were 5. 36%,62. 5%,19. 64%,3. 57% and 37. 5%,respectively. The sequences of heavy metal content in pig feed successively were piglet > growing pig > big pig > sow,but the exceeding standard rates of heavy metal in feed were big pig > sow > growing pig > piglet,and the exceeding standard rate of big pig feed was more than 95%. The exceeding standard rates of Cu,Zn and As in chicken feed were 46. 7%,11. 1% and 33. 3% respectively. Based on Organic Fertilizer( NY525-2012) and Sludge Agricultural Pollution Control Standard( GB4284-84),Cu,Zn and As in pig manure and chicken manure exceeded the standard; the exceeding standard rates of pig manure were 71. 9%,78. 9% and 42. 1%,while that of chicken manure were 12. 5%,25. 0% and 44. 4%,respectively. The exceeding standard rates of Cu and Zn in piglet manure reached 100%. There were very significant positive correlations in Cu,Zn and As between pig feed and corresponding manure,or Hg,Cu and As between chicken feed and corresponding manure,and the correlation coefficients r^2 were greater than 0. 8. Besides,the correlation coefficient r^2 of Pb between pig feed and corresponding manure was above 0. 6.
