| 1 | TD-AltBOC:A new COMPASS B2 modulation显示文摘AltBOC(15,10) is the baseline of COMPASS B2 signal modulation.It is a BOC-like signal having different PN codes in the lower and the upper main split lobes,which allow one signal service per lobe.The two lobes can be received and processed separately like two BPSK(10) signals,or coherently processed to achieve better performance.Interoperability among COMPASS B2,Galileo E5 and GPS L5 is also achievable using AltBOC modulation.However,Galileo's 4-code AltBOC has drawbacks such as low efficiency and great receiver complexity.This paper presents a new modulation type named TD-AltBOC (Time Division AltBOC).The signal generation scheme and receiving method are presented,and are compared with AltBOC in the areas of power spectrum,ranging accuracy,anti-multipath performance,anti-interference performance,processing flexibility and complexity.Analysis results show TD-AltBOC has similar spectrum characteristics,interoperability,flexibility and anti-interference performance with AltBOC.When the frontend bandwidth is more than 50 MHz,TD-AltBOC can achieve better ranging accuracy and anti-multipath performance.It also has such advantages as high efficiency and low receiver complexity.TD-AltBOC could be a good solution to COMPASS B2 navigation signal. | TANG ZuPing ZHOU HongWei WEI JiaoLong YAN Tao LIU YuQi RAN YiHang ZHOU YanLing | 2011 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,6: | 20 |

| 5 | Omentin-1 prevents inflammation-induced osteoporosis by downregulating the pro-inflammatory cytokines显示文摘Osteoporosis is a frequent complication of chronic inflammatory diseases and increases in the pro-inflammatory cytokines make an important contribution to bone loss by promoting bone resorption and impairing bone formation. Omentin-1 is a newly identified adipocytokine that has anti-inflammatory effects, but little is known about the role of omentin-1 in inflammatory osteoporosis. Here we generated global omentin-1 knockout(omentin-1^(-/-)) mice and demonstrated that depletion of omentin-1 induces inflammatory bone loss-like phenotypes in mice, as defined by abnormally elevated pro-inflammatory cytokines, increased osteoclast formation and bone tissue destruction, as well as impaired osteogenic activities. Using an inflammatory cell model induced by tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α), we determined that recombinant omentin-1 reduces the production of proinflammatory factors in the TNF-α-activated macrophages, and suppresses their anti-osteoblastic and pro-osteoclastic abilities. In the magnesium silicate-induced inflammatory osteoporosis mouse model, the systemic administration of adenoviral-delivered omentin-1 significantly protects from osteoporotic bone loss and inflammation. | 6 | Surgical treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma with inferior vena cava tumor thrombus: a new classification for surgical guidance显示文摘BACKGROUND: Hepatic resection is the main treatment modality for hepatic tumors. Advances in diagnostic technique, preoperative preparation, surgical technique, and postoperative management increased the success rate. The present study aimed to evaluate hepatectomy and resection of inferior vena cava tumor thrombus (IVCTT) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma, and the relationship between IVCTT classification and selection of surgical technique. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed 13 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who had undergone hepatectomy with IVCTT resection between May 1997 and August 2009. Age, gender, diagnosis, findings of physical examination, results of preoperative laboratory investigations, radiological examination, criteria for resection, postoperative pathological results, incisions, operative technique, intraoperative transfusion, drains, and intraoperative and postoperative complications were evaluated for all patients. RESULTS: Type Ⅰ IVCTT (10 patients) was posterior to the liver and below the diaphragm; type Ⅱ IVCTT (2 patients) was above the diaphragm but still outside the atrium; and type Ⅲ IVCTT (1 patient) was above the diaphragm and in the right atrium. Type Ⅰ was treated by radical hepatectomy and removal of IVCTT with total hepatic vascular exclusion. Type Ⅱ was treated by radical hepatectomy and removal of IVCTT by incision of the diaphragm. Type Ⅲ was treated by hepatectomy and resection of the thrombus from the right atrium under cardiopulmonary bypass. There were no surgical complications and one patient has been survived for 4 years with cancer-free status. The median survival time was 18.2 months, and the 1-and 2-year survival rates were 53.8% and 15.4%, respectively. | 7 | The Upper Devonian orbital cyclostratigraphy and numerical dating conodont zones from Guangxi,South China显示文摘The hierarchically organized laminae, bundles, bundlesets and superbundlesets which correspond to a sub-Milankovitch, obliquity or precession, eccentricity and long eccentricity cyclothems, respectively, have been distinguished from the Upper Devonian Frasnian-Famennian (F-F) transitional carbonate successions deposited in the carbonate-basin and slope facies of Guangxi, South China. The durations of cyclothems are 8000-10000a, 16667a or 33333a, 100000a and 400000a, respectively. The ratio of eccentricity to precession, eccentricity to obliquity, and long eccentricity to eccentricity is 1:6,1:3 and 1 : 4 in the Devonian,respectively. Orbital cyclostratigraphical studies show that the durations of the conodont falsiovalis Zone, transitans Zone, punctata Zone, Lower hassi Zone, Upper hassi Zone, jamieae Zone,Lower rhenana Zone, Upper rhenana Zone,linguiformis Zone, Lower triangularis Zone, Middle triangularis Zone and Upper triangularis Zone are 0.4, 0.4, 0.4, 0.3, 0.4, 0.2, 0.8, 0.6, 0.8, 0.3, 0.3and 0.3 Ma from bottom to top, respectively, and the duration of the Frasnian is 4.3 Ma. The conodont is the normal marine organism of the latest mass extinction (the latest linguiformis Zone)and the first recovery (including the whole Lower triangularis and Middle triangularis Zone) in the F-F transition. The conodont mass extinction and recovery lasted 200000-100000a and 0.6 Ma,respectively. | 8 | Mapping the permafrost stability on the Tibetan Plateau for 2005–2015显示文摘Data scarcity is a major obstacle for high-resolution mapping of permafrost on the Tibetan Plateau(TP).This study produces a new permafrost stability distribution map for the 2010 s(2005–2015)derived from the predicted mean annual ground temperature(MAGT)at a depth of zero annual amplitude(10–25 m)by integrating remotely sensed freezing degree-days and thawing degree-days,snow cover days,leaf area index,soil bulk density,high-accuracy soil moisture data,and in situ MAGT measurements from 237 boreholes on the TP by using an ensemble learning method that employs a support vector regression model based on distance-blocked resampled training data with 200 repetitions.Validation of the new permafrost map indicates that it is probably the most accurate of all currently available maps.This map shows that the total area of permafrost on the TP,excluding glaciers and lakes,is approximately 115.02(105.47–129.59)×10^4 km^2.The areas corresponding to the very stable,stable,semi-stable,transitional,and unstable types are 0.86×10^4,9.62×10^4,38.45×10^4,42.29×10^4,and 23.80×10^4 km^2,respectively.This new map is of fundamental importance for engineering planning and design,ecosystem management,and evaluation of the permafrost change in the future on the TP as a baseline. | Youhua RAN Xin LI Guodong CHENG Zhuotong NAN Jinxing CHE Yu SHENG Qingbai WU Huijun JIN Dongliang LUO Zhiguang TANG Xiaobo WU | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,1: | 11 |
| 9 | Cognitive impairment and the associated risk factors among the elderly in the Shanghai urban area:a pilot study from China显示文摘Objectives:Our study aimed to investigate the prevalence of cognitive impairment(CI)and the associated risk factors among elderly people in Shanghai urban area,China.Methods:A population-based survey was conducted among people aged 55 years or older in urban areas of Shanghai.Face-to-face interviews were carried out to collect information including demographic characteristics,medical history,and medication use,etc.The validated Chinese version of the Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)was used to screen subjects with CI,and the criteria of CI were adjusted for education levels.Results:A total of 3,176 home-living residents(≥55 years old)were included in the study.Among them,266 people(102 men and 164 women)were identified as cognition impaired,with a prevalence of 8.38%(266/3,176,95%CI:(8.26,8.49))for both genders,9.21%(102/1,107,95%CI:(9.18,9.33))for men and 7.93%(164/2,069,95%CI:(7.80,8.09))for women,respectively.Furthermore,we found that several significant risk factors,including social factors(education,number of children,marriage status,and family structure),physiological factors(age,blood glucose level,and obesity),factors on living styles(physical exercise,diet&chronic diseases),and genetic factor(ApoE),associated with CI onset.Conclusions:This study confirms the high prevalence of CI among the elderly population in the Shanghai urban in China,similar to previous epidemiologic studies in Western countries.The putative risk factors associated with CI merit further investigated. | Jun-Peng Zhuang Gang Wang Qi Cheng Li-Ling Wang Rong Fang Li-Hua Liu Ran Xiong Yu Zhang Ya-Xing Gui Wen-Yan Kang Hui-Dong Tang Sheng-Di Chen | 2012 | Translational Neurodegeneration2012,1,1: | 10 |

| 11 | Applications of two-way satellite time and frequency transfer in the BeiDou navigation satellite system显示文摘A two-way satellite time and frequency transfer(TWSTFT) device equipped in the BeiDou navigation satellite system(BDS)can calculate clock error between satellite and ground master clock. TWSTFT is a real-time method with high accuracy because most system errors such as orbital error, station position error, and tropospheric and ionospheric delay error can be eliminated by calculating the two-way pseudorange difference. Another method, the multi-satellite precision orbit determination(MPOD)method, can be applied to estimate satellite clock errors. By comparison with MPOD clock estimations, this paper discusses the applications of the BDS TWSTFT clock observations in satellite clock measurement, satellite clock prediction, navigation system time monitor, and satellite clock performance assessment in orbit. The results show that with TWSTFT clock observations, the accuracy of satellite clock prediction is higher than MPOD. Five continuous weeks of comparisons with three international GNSS Service(IGS) analysis centers(ACs) show that the reference time difference between BeiDou time(BDT) and golbal positoning system(GPS) time(GPST) realized IGS ACs is in the tens of nanoseconds. Applying the TWSTFT clock error observations may obtain more accurate satellite clock performance evaluation in the 104 s interval because the accuracy of the MPOD clock estimation is not sufficiently high. | 15 | Initial detection of the quorum sensing autoinducer activity in the rumen of goats in vivo and in vitro显示文摘Quorum sensing(QS) is a type of microbe-microbe communication system that is widespread among the microbial world, particularly among microorganisms that are symbiotic with plants and animals. Thereby, the cell-cell signalling is likely to occur in an anaerobic rumen environment, which is a complex microbial ecosystem. In this study, using six ruminally fistulated Liuyang black goats as experimental animals, we aimed to detect the activity of quorum sensing autoinducers(AI) both in vivo and in vitro and to clone the lux S gene that encoded autoinducer-2(AI-2) synthase of microbial samples that were collected from the rumen of goats. Neutral detergent fiber(NDF) and soluble starch were the two types of substrates that were used for in vitro fermentation. The fermented fluid samples were collected at 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24, 36, and 48 h of incubation. The acyl-homoserine lactones(AHLs) activity was determined using gas chromatography-mass spectrometer(GC-MS) analysis. However, none of the rumen fluid extracts that were collected from the goat rumen showed the same or similar fragmentation pattern to AHLs standards. Meanwhile, the AI-2 activity, assayed using a Vibrio harveyi BB170 bioassay, was negative in all samples that were collected from the goat rumen and from in vitro fermentation fluids. Our results indicated that the activities of AHLs and AI-2 were not detected in the ruminal contents from six goats and in ruminal fluids obtained from in vitro fermentation at different sampling time-points. However, the homologues of lux S in Prevotella ruminicola were cloned from in vivo and in vitro ruminal fluids. We concluded that AHLs and AI-2 could not be detected in in vivo and in vitro ruminal fluids of goats using the current detection techniques under current dietary conditions. | 16 | USP29 maintains the stability of cGAS and promotes cellular antiviral responses and autoimmunity显示文摘Cyclic GMP-AMP synthase(cGAS)is an essential sensor of cytosolic DNA and critically mediates innate immune responses and autoimmunity.Modulating the activity and stability of cGAS provides potential strategies for treating viral or autoimmune diseases.Here,we report that ubiquitin-specific protease 29(USP29)deubiquitinates and stabilizes cGAS and promotes cellular antiviral responses and autoimmunity.Knockdown or knockout of USP29 severely impairs Herpes simplex virus 1(HSV-1)-or cytosolic DNA-induced expression of type I interferons(IFNs)and proinflammatory cytokines.Consistently,Usp29m/m mice produce decreased type I IFNs and proinflammatory cytokines after HSV-1 infection and are hypersensitive to HSV-1 infection compared to the wild-type littermates.In addition,genetic ablation of USP29 in Trex1−/−mice eliminated the detectable pathological and molecular autoimmune phenotypes.Mechanistically,USP29 constitutively interacts with cGAS,deconjugates K48-linked polyubiquitin chains from cGAS and stabilizes cGAS in uninfected cells or after HSV-1 infection.Reconstitution of cGAS into Usp29−/−cells fully rescues type I IFN induction and cellular antiviral responses after HSV-1 infection.Our findings thus reveal a critical role of USP29 in the innate antiviral responses against DNA viruses and autoimmune diseases and provide insight into the regulation of cGAS. | Qiang Zhang Zhen Tang Ran An Liya Ye Bo Zhong | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,10: | 5 |

| 19 | Comprehensive Marine Observing Experiment Based on High-Altitude Large Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(South China Sea Experiment2020 of the “Petrel Project”)显示文摘In collaboration with 12 other institutions, the Meteorological Observation Center of the China Meteorological Administration undertook a comprehensive marine observation experiment in the South China Sea using the Yilong-10 high-altitude large unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). The Yilong-10 UAV carried a self-developed dropsonde system and a millimeter-wave cloud radar system. In addition, a solar-powered unmanned surface vessel and two drifting buoys were used. The experiment was further supported by an intelligent, reciprocating horizontal drifting radiosonde system that was deployed from the Sansha Meteorological Observing Station, with the intent of producing a stereoscopic observation over the South China Sea. Comprehensive three-dimensional observations were collected using the system from 31 July to2 August, 2020. This information was used to investigate the formation and development processes of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The data contain measurements of 21 oceanic and meteorological parameters acquired by the five devices, along with video footage from the UAV. The data proved very helpful in determining the actual location and intensity of Typhoon Sinlaku(2020). The experiment demonstrates the feasibility of using a high-altitude, large UAV to fill in the gaps between operational meteorological observations of marine areas and typhoons near China, and marks a milestone for the use of such data for analyzing the structure and impact of a typhoon in the South China Sea.
