| 1 | Mantle melting beneath the Southwest Indian Ridge: signals from clinopyroxene in abyssal peridotites显示文摘The mineral chemistry and texture of clinopyroxenes in peridotite from the Kingkong tectonic zone of the Southwest Indian Ridge segment in an effort to constrain mantle melting beneath this slow-spreading ridge are reported.There are three types of clinopyroxenes in the abyssal peridotites:coarse-grained,intergranular and exsolved.The compositional variations among these three types suggest that the coarse-grained clinopyroxene is a mantle-derived source.The Al,Na and Ti contents and the Na/Ti ratio of the coarsegrained clinopyroxene may be used to monitor the degree of partial melting,combined with the contradistinction with Spinel Cr#,which is calculated to be between 7.9%and 14.9%,and may represent low degrees of melting in the global ocean ridge system.The along-axis compositional variations in the coarse-grained clinopyroxene suggest that the degree of partial melting is primarily controlled by the transform faults on both sides of the ridge.Nonetheless,the northwestern side of the ridge may be affected by a hypothesised detachment fault as documented by the calculated P-T conditions.Simultaneously high Na and low Ti contents in the coarse-grained clinopyroxene points to mantle heterogeneities along the ridge axis. | WANG Wei CHU Fengyou ZHU Jihao DONG Yanhui YU Xing CHEN Ling LI Zhenggang | 2013 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2013,32,12: | 2 |
| 2 | Diverse glasses revealed from Chang'E-5 lunar regolith显示文摘Lunar glasses with different origins act as snapshots of their formation processes,providing a rich archive of the Moon's formation and evolution.Here,we reveal diverse glasses from Chang'E-5(CE-5)lunar regolith,and clarify their physical origins of liquid quenching,vapor deposition and irradiation damage respectively.The series of quenched glasses,including rotation-featured particles,vesicular agglutinates and adhered melts,record multiple-scale impact events.Abundant micro-impact products,like micron-to nano-scale glass droplets or craters,highlight that the regolith is heavily reworked by frequent micrometeorite bombardment.Distinct from Apollo samples,the indigenous ultra-elongated glass fibers drawn from viscous melts and the widespread ultra-thin deposited amorphous rims without nanophase iron particles both indicate a relatively gentle impact environment at the CE-5 landing site.The clarification of multitype CE-5 glasses also provides a catalogue of diverse lunar glasses,meaning that more of the Moon's mysteries,recorded in glasses,could be deciphered in future. | Rui Zhao Laiquan Shen Dongdong Xiao Chao Chang Yao Huang Jihao Yu Huaping Zhang Ming Liu Shaofan Zhao Wei Yao Zhen Lu Baoan Sun Haiyang Bai Zhigang Zou Mengfei Yang Weihua Wang | 2023 | National Science Review2023,10,12: | 0 |
| 3 | The composition and origination of particles from surface water in the Chukchi Sea, Arctic Ocean显示文摘Suspended particle samples were collected at 11 stations on the shelf and slope regions of the ChukchiSea and the central Arctic Ocean during the fifth Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(summer 2012). The particle concentration, total organic carbon(TOC), total nitrogen(TN) and the isotopic composition of the samples were analyzed. The suspended particle concentration varied between 0.56 and 4.01 mg.L-1; the samples collected from the sea ice margin have higher concentrations. The organic matter content is higher in the shelf area(TOC: 9.78%–20.24%; TN: 0.91%–2.31%), and exhibits heavier isotopic compositions(δ13C: –23.29‰ to –26.33‰ PDB; δ15N: 6.14‰–7.78‰), indicating that the organic matter is mostly marine in origin with some terrigenous input. In the slope and the central Arctic Ocean, the organic matter content is lower(TOC: 8.06%–8.96%; TN: 0.46%–0.72%), except for one sample(SR15), and has lighter isotopic compositions(δ13C: –26.93‰ to –27.78‰ PDB; δ15N: 4.13‰–4.84‰). This indicates that the organic matter is mostly terrestrially-derived in these regions. The extremely high amount of terrigenous organic matter(TOC: 27.94%; TN: 1.16%; δ13C: –27.43‰ PDB; δ15N: 3.81‰) implies that it was carried by transpolar currents from the East Siberian Sea. Material, including sea ice algae, carried by sea ice are the primary source for particles in the sea ice margins. | 4 | Targeting the insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor in MTAP-deficient renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Renal cell carcinoma(RCC)has emerged as a metabolic disease characterized by dysregulated expression of metabolic enzymes.Patients with metastatic RCC have an unusually poor prognosis and near-universal resistance to all current therapies.To improve RCC treatment and the survival rate of patients with RCC,there is an urgent need to reveal the mechanisms by which metabolic reprogramming regulates aberrant signaling and oncogenic progression.Through an integrated analysis of RCC metabolic pathways,we showed that methylthioadenosine phosphorylase(MTAP)and its substrate methylthioadenosine(MTA)are dysregulated in aggressive RCC.A decrease in MTAP expression was observed in RCC tissues and correlated with higher tumor grade and shorter overall survival.Genetic manipulation of MTAP demonstrated that MTAP expression inhibits the epithelial-mesenchymal transition,invasion and migration of RCC cells.Interestingly,we found a decrease in the protein methylation level with a concomitant increase in tyrosine phosphorylation after MTAP knockout.A phospho-kinase array screen identified the type 1 insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor(IGF1R)as the candidate with the highest upregulation in tyrosine phosphorylation in response to MTAP loss.We further demonstrated that IGF1R phosphorylation acts upstream of Src and STAT3 signaling in MTAP-knockout RCC cells.IGF1R suppression by a selective inhibitor of IGF1R,linsitinib,impaired the cell migration and invasion capability of MTAP-deleted cells.Surprisingly,an increase in linsitinib-mediated cytotoxicity occurred in RCC cells with MTAP deficiency.Our data suggest that IGF1R signaling is a driver pathway that contributes to the aggressive nature of MTAP-deleted RCC. | Jihao Xu Wen-Hsin Chang Lon Wolf R.Fong Robert H.Weiss Sung-Liang Yu Ching-Hsien Chen | 2019 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1: | 0 |
